Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao and the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu, who had always been respected by everyone, were recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous titles of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Supreme Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the official announcement of the Buddha name of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha, so in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official recognition of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official recognition no longer exist.
Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Requests the Descent of Nectar and Relics and Will Retreat from the World for Practice#
(Taipei News) The elusive Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu, who has always been unpredictable, appeared in Los Angeles, USA on the special occasion of Buddha's birthday. On that day, under the presence of gathered high monks, he personally blessed the country's peace and the auspiciousness of all sentient beings, and once again performed the ritual to request the descent of large and small nectar, as well as over two hundred relics. Afterwards, he led his sixteen senior disciples to visit the Venerable Yi Yun Gao, the Master of Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhism, to ask the Master to teach his disciples. However, the Master politely declined with a sense of humility, and the Supreme Dharma King stated to the various kings, living Buddhas, and masters from all over the world who sought his recognition that he would retreat into seclusion in the deep mountains, not concerning himself with worldly affairs. Without special karmic conditions for the Buddha Dharma to arise, he would not appear before the world again, and those who sought recognition should look for someone else.
This year is the Tibetan Year of the Iron Snake, and the Buddha's birthday according to the Tibetan calendar is the 8th day of the fourth month, which corresponds to the 30th day of the fourth month in the Gregorian calendar. The bowl used by the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu to request nectar is not the ceremonial bowl passed down by the Dharma King, but a regular bronze bowl that was opened and closed. This shows the great spiritual attainment of the Supreme Dharma King. After the nectar ritual, the bronze bowl used to request nectar was blessed and given to a monk present at the scene.
Venerable Yi Yun Gao was selected as the only authentic Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhist Master in the world at the World Buddhist Congress. It was only after the meeting between the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu and the Venerable Yi Yun Gao at the Marriott Resort Hotel on Huntington Avenue in Arcadia, Los Angeles, where the Master was staying, that everyone realized that both the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu and the Venerable Yi Yun Gao were disciples of the Venerable Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Supreme Dharma King. They both belong to the Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Supreme Dharma King sect. The full title of the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu is "Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Wujin Chiba", while the full title of the Venerable Yi Yun Gao is "Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Yun Gao". It's just that due to the difference in birth dates, when the Venerable Yi Yun Gao followed the Venerable Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Supreme Dharma King to study, the Venerable Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Wujin Chiba had already completed his studies and left the Supreme Dharma King, embarking on his own propagation. Later, people simply referred to the Venerable Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu Wujin Chiba as the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu, and the Venerable Yi Yun Gao became commonly known as the Venerable Yi Yun Gao. Some also call him the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu.
According to a Rinpoche who had the opportunity to attend this meeting of the two great virtuous ones, being able to pay respects to both Buddhist virtuous ones was the culmination of his life's karmic fortune. What's more, he was delighted to taste the nectar requested by the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu and to hear the Supreme Dharma King speak of the wonderful truth of not doing evil and practicing all that is good, which is the profound essence of all Buddhist teachings. It is truly the blessing of billions of kalpas. The delicious taste of the nectar is indescribable in human language, and the power of the nectar's blessings cannot be expressed in words.
This Rinpoche described the situation at the time, saying that after the ceremony, the first thing the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu did was to lead his disciples, including the Rinpoche and the Grand Master, to visit the hotel where the Venerable Yi Yun Gao was staying. When the two great virtuous ones met, they greeted each other and humbly offered each other seats, showing great courtesy. Finally, they sat down together.
During the conversation, the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu highly praised the Venerable Yi Yun Gao for his comprehensive understanding of the Tripitaka and his virtuous purity. The Dharma teachings he expounded fully represented the authentic teachings of the Buddha. It is not just a matter of the Supreme Dharma King's spiritual attainment. He also asked the Venerable Yi Yun Gao to teach his disciples. He said he truly admired the Master. The Supreme Dharma King also said that the World Buddhist Congress selected the Master as the Exoteric and Esoteric Buddhist Master of the world, which is truly well-deserved! However, the Venerable Yi Yun Gao humbly stated that this is the encouragement of the World Buddhist Congress to me.
The Supreme Dharma King said: I specifically performed the nectar ritual to prove its correctness at that debate between the righteous and the evil. This is the Buddha's authentication, not just the selection of the congress. The humility of a Master-level Dharma King like this has greatly benefited me.
The Venerable Yi Yun Gao said that Buddhism is as deep as the ocean, and he is just a beginner. He only has an ordinary level of realization and feels ashamed in body and mind. He is not worth mentioning. He does not have the ability to teach the Supreme Dharma King's disciples. He can only study and examine himself. He praised the Supreme Dharma King Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu as the great sage representing the authentic teachings of the Tathagata, the model of moral excellence. The sincere humility of the two great virtuous ones made the Buddhist disciples present deeply admire them.
