"Yam News" of "Sweet Potato Vine" December 6, 2000: Yi Yun's high-priced paintings continue to create a reputation, unaffected by criticism.

Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang, was certified by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Supreme Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official recognition of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official recognition no longer exist.

Yi Yun Gao's paintings continue to create sky-high prices, self-proclaimed reputation unaffected#

Yi Yun Master, who created the highest price in the world of Chinese painting with the painting "Great Power King Venerable," said in a telephone interview with reporters, "I am an ordinary person with no publicity qualifications. I don't sell paintings. If someone sells the things I give them, it's their business." He does not comment on the praise and slander from the outside world.

Yi Yun Master, who combines the titles of Buddhist Master, Art Master, Philosophy Master, Scientist, Singer, Writer, and Ethical and Moral Master, said that besides technique, the most important thing in painting is style and artistic conception. Ink painting has an advantage in expressing artistic conception compared to oil painting. The expression of artistic conception and the reflection of style reflect the literary, philosophical, and artistic attainments and realm of the painter. Therefore, the best painters must be literary and philosophical masters, not just skilled craftsmen. Therefore, the artistic value of Chinese painting and Western painting should not be ranked based on categories.

Zhou Yingnan, an advisor to the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, pointed out in the preface of the "Yi Yun Master Painting Collection," which is now out of print, that Master Yi has dozens of different techniques, whether it is landscapes, figures, animals, flowers and birds, or fish and insects, regardless of meticulousness, freehand brushwork, or splashing ink, he excels in all of them, and all of them are based on solid traditional skills and innovation. Master Yi is knowledgeable and accomplished, with abundant writings, and is one of the most famous scholars in modern world history. Although his reputation has spread all over the world, his humility, simplicity, and high moral character are even harder to find. He has long been recognized by experts from world-class academic institutions.

In the book "Master Yi Yun," the author Zhuang Zigong said, "Master Yi Yun's brilliant achievements in painting and calligraphy are rooted in his unwavering dedication to the philosophy of life and the universe and his profound literary foundation." Gu Ruizhao, a professor who teaches comparative art courses at Zhongyuan University and the National Defense Medical College, pointed out that only by improving our literary and philosophical foundation can we deeply understand the connotation and subtlety of Master Yi Yun's paintings. Master Yi's paintings are for deep contemplation, not just for viewing. To appreciate his paintings, one must not only have a profound knowledge, but also spend more effort to truly benefit from them.

How does Master Yi Yun pursue the realm of painting? "The so-called state of selflessness is when a person integrates experience, knowledge, and skills to a certain extent, and naturally reaches the realm of a saint. It is a higher goal that artists pursue after achieving a certain level of accomplishment, attempting to achieve the unity of the inner world and nature." Zhuang Zigong, who is deeply acquainted with Master Yun Yun, has always believed that his paintings "store techniques and messages."

Master Yun Yun does not comment on this view, only saying that his works are simply: "Using brushes, ink, and pigments to express the truths and the atmosphere realized from life and nature, and using certain techniques to present them on paper, that's all." Gu Ruizhao's words are exactly the "techniques and messages" that Master Yun Yun "stores" in his paintings. He pointed out that if you can comprehend the "truths" of "life and nature" and feel the "atmosphere" that is condensed in your heart from Master Yun Yun's paintings, then you have already absorbed the so-called "techniques and messages" contained in his paintings. If you still can't, please strengthen your literary, philosophical, moral, Buddhist, and Buddhist studies and strive for improvement.

Venerable Jueyu, the Minister of the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, said that Master Yi's paintings can vary in wonderful wisdom and techniques. This achievement is entirely due to the cultivation and verification of Buddhist teachings and Buddhist studies. Its application comes from the wisdom of Prajna, and its value and blessings come from the practice of offering and giving. The two-fold accumulation is the collection of the Tripitaka and the secret scriptures.

As early as 1995, Master Yi Yun Gao publicly burned his own immature paintings at the Jinghui Mountain Villa in Dayi County, China: In order to be responsible for passing on the master's paintings to future generations, the World Buddhist Association decided not to handle handbooks for the master's immature works during his study and research period. Venerable Jueyu, the Minister of the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, emphasized that the World Buddhist Association affirms Master Yi as a holy figure in Buddhism, and his image should be protected. Therefore, his paintings must not have fake works appearing in troubled times. For this reason, the World Buddhist Association decided to sign a contract with the master to guarantee the authenticity of his works. The master's calligraphy and painting auctions will not receive any commission from the World Buddhist Association. Everything the World Buddhist Association does is based on the law, not on individuals, and everything is for the dignity of art and the benefit of the public, and for the solemnity of the master's image in Buddhism.

The World Buddhist Association actively guarantees the authenticity of his works. For the calligraphy and paintings personally created by Master Yi Yun Gao, he must personally write a guarantee certificate, stamp it with his own gold seal and fingerprints, and include his secret notes. The handbooks must also be appraised by the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association before being stamped with the "Yun Gao" seal. In addition, the handbooks must be stamped with the steel seal of the World Buddhist Association and personally signed by the chairman of the association. This makes him a great painter whose quality is guaranteed by the World Buddhist Association.
