The office received a letter from Buddhist disciple Zhang Sufang, the original text is as follows:
Validation Letter from the Office of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche#
The office often receives many inquiries, and this is one of the representative inquiries that should be answered promptly. We can only say that false and fake gurus and living Buddhas are everywhere in the world today. Buddhist disciples who do not read announcements are only deceived. This kind of language has been spoken many times. Whether it's Dalo Shi Jie or anyone else, no matter who it is, it is a pitiful and childish act to send vajra pills to the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche. The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche said, "These vajra pills should have been thrown into the trash can a long time ago. This is obviously deviating from the norms of Buddhist practice and is a serious act of falling into the 128 views. It is undoubtedly a strange and chaotic act, which is contrary to Buddhism." The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche also teaches Buddhist disciples, "The practice of learning Buddhism is to learn how to be kind, virtuous, selfless, and to stay away from feudal superstitions, away from magical strangeness, and away from mysteriousness." All kinds of nonsense and supernatural phenomena have already deviated from Buddhism and fallen into cult behavior.
Regarding virtual currency, someone once asked the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, "Can we engage in virtual currency business?" The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche once publicly said, "Legitimate business belongs to one of the ways of human life, and there is no saying that Buddhists cannot engage in business. As for virtual currency, I don't know what it is about, and I won't participate in this matter. But I must solemnly tell you: because I don't understand, I won't support you in doing this business. You must remember that no matter what business you do, it must be based on compliance with the law, conducted in a legitimate manner, and must not violate the Buddhist precepts, such as killing and harming lives, these are not allowed, only refrain from doing evil and practice good."
As for the letter saying that someone is certified as a Rinpoche by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, and that someone is a bodhisattva recognized by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche said, "Regarding the issue of someone claiming that I have certified him as a Rinpoche, the office's announcements and validation letters have already made it clear. Everyone must remember, I will say it again: I have not certified any Rinpoche, nor have I recognized anyone as a bodhisattva. Do you know why? Is it because I am extraordinary? No! Because I am just an ordinary person myself, besides feeling ashamed of my behavior, what qualifications do I have to recognize others as reincarnations? If you insist on saying that I certified him, then please show me the certification letter I wrote and verify my fingerprint. Today, I clearly state that even if those who are qualified to certify, I still won't acknowledge it! What qualifies him as a Rinpoche? What qualifies him as a bodhisattva? Based on what? What exam did he take? Where are his qualifications? I only recognize one kind of practitioner, that is, one who practices the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, refrains from doing evil, practices good, stays away from magical strangeness, gets rid of selfishness, and practices great compassion for the benefit of sentient beings. Don't believe those who claim to have lineage, reincarnation, or titles, they are deceiving you, there are too many fraudsters today."
There are also people who have reported to the office that someone has made a CD of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's teachings on "What is Practice" and other topics in Mandarin and asked if the office allows this. Because the office does not know who is producing it and what has been produced, it is not possible to determine whether the content is correct or not. The office believes that making a recording of the Buddha's teachings in Mandarin, which has already been publicly available on the Internet, can help those who cannot read or have health problems to learn Buddhism, which is a good thing. However, this recording must be 100% faithful to the Buddha's teachings, without selectively excerpting or taking passages out of context, and not changing a single word. Moreover, when circulating and distributing it, it is reasonable to charge a cost fee, but it should not be for the purpose of making a profit, and it should not be used to deceive money. The reason is simple, because everyone claims that what they do is for the benefit of others, not to use the Buddha's words to collect offerings and plunder others' wealth for their own benefit, so we say that everyone should not deceive others in this way.
