Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, the Yange Yixi Nuo Bu Dafawang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". In particular, on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the titles of Master and Dafawang no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, the previous names no longer exist.

- By Wang Chengefen, a lay disciple who achieved great accomplishment in practicing Guanyin Dharma under the guidance of the Great Dharma King

Wang Chengefen, a lay disciple from Xindu County, Sichuan Province, China, is 81 years old this year. She has been practicing Guanyin Dharma under the guidance of the Great Dharma King Yixi Nuobu for many years and is a close relative of the Great Dharma King. In March of this year, the old lay disciple displayed the four great signs of decomposition.
On April 13, she was sent to Chengdu General Hospital by her children. After examination, all indicators were normal, and there were no diseases diagnosed by electrocardiogram or electroencephalogram. Her health was good. However, on the X-ray chest film taken on April 18, both lungs were completely invisible, with a blank space. The doctors were very surprised and had never seen such a situation before. Further examination confirmed that both lungs had completely stopped working and had no breathing function, neither inhaling nor exhaling. Everyone was extremely surprised because isn't it that without breathing, a person is dead? But Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, was still alive and speaking normally without breathing! Someone placed a small feather in front of the old lay disciple's nose and mouth, and indeed, after watching for more than ten minutes, the feather did not move at all. The old lay disciple had completely stopped breathing, but she was still alive and speaking normally. The doctors were extremely surprised and didn't know what to do. This is a great miracle in the medical field and even in the entire human world. The old lay disciple, in this state of complete lung failure, was able to speak and move for more than a month. Of course, everyone does not understand that this is the proof of the old lay disciple's cultivation of Buddhism.
After Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, was admitted to Chengdu General Hospital for two or three days, she entered a state of great enlightenment. She told everyone that Guanyin Bodhisattva had informed her that she would be taken to the Western Pure Land. She made arrangements for her affairs, took off the Buddha statue hanging on her chest and the jewelry on her hands, distributed them to her children, changed into a shroud, and waited quietly for Guanyin Bodhisattva to come. She kept folding her hands and reciting "Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva", and even asked the people assisting in the recitation to kneel down and recite the sacred name of Guanyin Bodhisattva. She said that Guanyin Bodhisattva had arrived. Sure enough, suddenly a fragrance filled the entire ward, and celestial music sounded in the air. Bodhisattva had arrived, but the old lay disciple did not leave. The old lay disciple told everyone that Guanyin Bodhisattva told her that her husband, the Great Dharma King Yixi Nuobu in the United States, had obstructed her and asked Bodhisattva not to take her away. A few days later, Guanyin Bodhisattva came to take her again, and the old lay disciple did not disturb the people around her. She recited and folded her hands continuously. The people around her heard her say, "The Western Pure Land is so beautiful! So many flowers!" This time, Guanyin Bodhisattva was also obstructed by the Great Dharma King Yixi Nuobu. When interviewed, the old lay disciple, although reluctant to speak, still took responsibility and insisted on recording herself: "I saw Guanyin Bodhisattva wearing a blue robe. The Western Pure Land is so beautiful! There are also pavilions and towers, and so many flowers!" On May 22, 2004, at 11 o'clock in the evening Los Angeles time (approximately 2 o'clock in the afternoon on May 23, China time), International Buddhist Sangha Association President Long Hui was called to the dining table by her Dharma King. Her Dharma King told her that Ms. Wang Chengefen, a close relative of the Dharma King, would pass away in Sichuan Province, China on the next day in the United States, which is today in China, and would be guided by Guanyin Bodhisattva to the Western Pure Land. The Dharma King asked Long Hui to publicly announce the passing of Ms. Wang Chengefen at the bathing Buddha ceremony to be held the next day, and dedicate the merits of the Dharma practice to the old lay disciple. The Dharma King added, "Listen carefully, she has not passed away yet. Tomorrow, you will hold the bathing Buddha ceremony, which is more meritorious. I can no longer ask Guanyin Bodhisattva to keep her. After I finish my Dharma practice tonight, Guanyin Bodhisattva will come to take her tomorrow." Sure enough, on the second day (May 23), at 7 o'clock in the morning Los Angeles time, around 10 o'clock in the evening China time, Long Hui received a call from Sichuan before she arrived at the venue of the ceremony, saying that Ms. Wang Chengefen had been taken away by Guanyin Bodhisattva 20 minutes ago.
At the ceremony that day, immediately after the bathing Buddha ritual was completed, everyone saw the bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, dressed in a red Dharma robe, emit a dazzling golden light that lasted for more than two hours before slowly disappearing. This is closely related to the Dharma King's transmission of the true Dharma to the old lay disciple. Otherwise, why has no one ever seen a Buddha statue emit light at a bathing Buddha ceremony in history?
On the evening of May 23, around 9:30 p.m. China time, immediately after Ms. Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, was taken away by Guanyin Bodhisattva, the ordinary chanting sound from the Buddha recitation device she bought from the street suddenly turned into the voice of the Great Dharma King Yixi Nuobu reciting "Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva" from across the Pacific Ocean! The Great Dharma King's voice was much louder and clearer than the original sound from the Buddha recitation device! Everyone present was moved and shocked. Shi Xinzhen, a lay disciple, recorded the Dharma sound of the Great Dharma King. At around 10 p.m. on May 24, Ms. Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, was respectfully brought to the simple and solemn Buddha hall of Baoguang Temple with a radiant face.
At around 4 p.m. on May 25, in the temporary Buddha hall of Baoguang Temple, the disciples of the Great Dharma King chanted "Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva" sacred name in silence. Soon, everyone heard that the original sound from the Buddha recitation device suddenly disappeared and was replaced by the Great Dharma King leading many people in reciting "Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva". After a while, they switched to reciting "Namo Amitabha Buddha" and then recited "Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva" again. The people were excited and followed the recitation of the Great Dharma King. Shi Xinzhen and Shi Xinen, two lay disciples, recorded the sound on the spot. After about 5 minutes, a beam of Buddha light shone on the Buddha platform and the body of Ms. Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple. Immediately, there was Buddha light in the air. Everyone rushed out of the house to pay their respects and cheer. Whether they were disciples of the Great Dharma King or people who practiced Buddhism, they all saw wonderful scenes. The colorful Buddha light in the sky spread out as described in the Amitabha Sutra, and countless Buddhas manifested in the Buddha light, and Bodhisattvas sat everywhere. The light expanded to the boundless space; the clouds around were colorful, and the ground, the sky, and the trees were filled with golden and blue light clusters; the sun and the moon were together, shining brightly and auspiciously; the sun kept flickering and jumping, and countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas emerged from it, quickly followed by silver wheels and countless bright Dharma eyes, or colorful lions, and even dragons! Guanyin Bodhisattva in the Buddha light was dressed in a long skirt, solemn and dignified, and then the head of Shakyamuni Buddha appeared, larger than the sun; the faces and bodies of the people were enveloped in golden light, and anyone who sought blessings immediately received the projection of the colorful Buddha light on their chests, and people kept bowing and praising. At that time, the people who witnessed the sacred scene were named Shi Zhilan, Shi Zhiqing, Shi Xinzhen, Shi Xinen, Shi Xinfeng, Shi Zhilian, Shi Daorong, Shi Yizong, Shi Zhiguang, Shi Chaojing, Shi Nianci, Shi Niande, Shi Nianzhen, Shi Zhiying, Shi Zhide, Shi Xinying, Shi Daowei, Shi Zhixiu, and nearly thirty others. The sacred scene lasted for about an hour, and everyone was excited and joyful, extremely excited.
On May 28, the temperature was the highest in several days. The old lay disciple had passed away for many days, and her remains were placed in a simple Buddha hall in Baoguang Temple. There was no freezing, no air conditioning, and not even an electric fan. The living people were sweaty, but the remains of the old lay disciple emitted a strong and fragrant smell, which everyone present could smell. Two monks from Baoguang Temple came to check and said in astonishment, "On such a hot day, it has been placed here for so many days without any problems. There is no trace of water on the ground, and there is still a fragrant smell. It is indeed a good cultivation." Many people in the Buddha hall saw the Amitabha Buddha statue on the Buddha platform emit three strong golden halos, each lasting about ten minutes, and the photos of the old lay disciple and the head of her remains also flickered with dazzling golden light. The Buddha light outside was still magnificent. The disciples of the Great Dharma King were reciting the Buddha in the Buddha hall. The monks of Baoguang Temple anxiously said, "Why don't you go out and see the Buddha light? There are so many Bodhisattvas in the sky!" On the evening of May 29, the funeral of Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, was officially held, presided over by Master Jixin, the cremation master of Baoguang Temple. Immediately after the solemn turning mantra ritual, the flames began to rise, and the wooden niche had not yet fully caught fire, various Buddhist sacred scenes appeared! Colorful Buddha light surrounded the earth, and everyone saw the emergence of sacred scenes, with cheers coming one after another. Mobile phones, cameras, and video cameras were held high, without focusing or framing, capturing everything. Sacred scenes were everywhere. The roaring flames suddenly turned into dragon gods and soared, spewing fierce fire and roaring loudly. The statues of Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Four-Armed Guanyin, and Manjushri Bodhisattva suddenly appeared, holding a wisdom sword. "Seed letters," vajras, Dharma protectors, male lions, phoenixes, lotus flowers, rainbows... various wonders emerged as the flames rose, and the sound of the Great Dharma King's recitation came from the Buddha recitation device. Suddenly, sweet dew descended from the sky, sweet and mellow. The sweet dew only fell on the position of the cremation furnace, and there was no dew anywhere else. The emergence of the sacred scenes made the crowd ecstatic. This is a joyous scene that has never been seen since the construction of the cremation furnace in Baoguang Temple. Many people who saw the sacred scenes at the cremation site were named Shi Xin'en, Shi Xinfeng, Shi Xinyu, Shi Zhiwen, Shi Xinmiao, Shi Daozhen, Shi Daochun, Shi Daozhi, Shi Xinxiao, Shi Zhilian, Shi Xinyuan, Shi Guangxiu, Shi Daoguang, Shi Guangwen, Qu Dedam, Shi Zhide, Shi Yizeng, Shi Zhida, Shi Zhixiu, Shi Zhenxiong, Shi Zhende, Shi Daoshan, Shi Dehai, Shi Guangyun, Shi Zhiqing, Shi Guangling, Shi Zhizhang, Shi Zhiming, Shi Zhihai, Shi Guangfeng, Shi Deming, Shi Dechao, Shi Zhibo, and many others, as well as many unfamiliar people, who were there to worship.
Even more astonishingly, more than sixty colorful relics were selected from the ashes of Wang Chengefen, the old lay disciple, including yellow and white superior-grade relics! Among them, there are even diamond-shaped relics, which caused a sensation in Baoguang Temple and the Chinese Buddhist community. This is an extremely rare sacred relic in history, truly achieving the state of "the tree of practice spreads its subtle realm, and the three flowers bloom in all places." People lined up to admire the relics, and people from all walks of life came in an endless stream. Baoguang Temple specially took photos of the relics of the old lay disciple and made them public for the public, with the caption: Ms. Chengefen Wang from Xindu obtained relics and relic flowers at Baoguang Temple on May 29, 2004.
A lay disciple named Mai, who often worships Buddha at Baoguang Temple, excitedly told reporters, "In these years, I have been in a hurry because I haven't learned the real skills, and I'm afraid of the moment of life and death. Of course, I recite the Buddha every day, but I know myself best. I know if I am an ordinary person. I haven't learned the true Dharma, ah. Not only me, but everyone around me is like this. When the time comes, we will definitely go through the cycle of rebirth, which is very scary. I have been asking the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for help, asking to learn the true Dharma. In these few days, I saw the sacred scenes of the great accomplishment of Chengefen, the old lay disciple, and I knew that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas blessed me and let me find it! Several of us disciples discussed and decided to do everything possible to find the Dharma King who achieved great accomplishment in Chengefen's Dharma. I know he is the true great sage. We also heard that Chengefen's husband also achieved liberation from life and death and was also taught by him. Who else should we look for if not him? Of course, we must find him. Only he can solve our life and death problems. We can't wait!"
