Pacific Daily News, February 19, 2004: Master Yiyun Gao awarded the title of Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts in the UK.

Explanation of the Title "His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche"#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche" published by Global Buddhist Publishing House and World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and from then on, people learned that the highly respected Master Yiyun Gao and His Holiness the Great Dharma King Yang Er Yixi Nobu were certified by the leaders or regents of major Buddhist sects around the world as the third incarnation of the primordial Buddha of the universe, the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, whose title is "His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche." Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche." This is similar to how before Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment, he was known as Prince Siddhartha, but after he became the Buddha, he was referred to as "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha." Therefore, we now say "Namo His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche." Notably, on December 12, 2012, the U.S. Senate Resolution No. 614 officially conferred the title His Holiness upon the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche (i.e., H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche), thus solidifying the title of Namo His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche. Moreover, the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche is also the government-registered name; the previous titles of "Yiyun Gao" and Master, Great Dharma King have ceased to exist. However, this news was published before the title of Namo His Holiness the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche was announced, at a time when people were still unaware of the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, to respect the historical truth, we still retain the name used before the official title of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche in the news, but everyone should be clear that aside from the name H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche being legal, the names used before the official designation no longer exist.

Master Yiyun Gao Awarded Fellowship Title by the Royal Academy of Arts#

On the 10th, the Royal Academy of Arts in the United Kingdom awarded the title of "Fellowship" to the world-renowned artist, master of Chinese painting, and founder of the art of rhythmic sculpture, Master Yiyun Gao, at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. The ceremony included the presentation of a badge and certificate, further confirming his outstanding contributions to world art.
The Royal Academy of Arts was established in 1768 by King George III of the United Kingdom, and it has a history of over 200 years. To this day, it still enjoys royal privileges granted by the British monarchy, and the appointment of the new president of the academy must be reported to and approved by the Queen. It is the oldest academy in the UK, renowned as a cradle for training the next generation of artists. Many artists who have worked in the field for years aspire to enter the academy for further study, but only twenty accomplished artists are selected from around the world each year to study there for three years in postgraduate programs.
Philip King, the president of the Royal Academy of Arts, announced during the award speech: "The Royal Academy of Arts has a long history, and it is a great honor for us to confer the title of Fellowship upon the great artist and spiritual leader Master Yiyun Gao. This is a very important and glorious event in the academy's history of over 200 years, and it is the first time in over 200 years that the Fellowship title has been awarded. Master Yiyun Gao is the outstanding artist we have long awaited at the Royal Academy of Arts, and it is a great fortune for the academy. The academy has 100 fellows, but for over 200 years, no one has held the aforementioned Fellowship title. Master Yiyun Gao is the first Fellow, and this prestigious title is awarded to the world's most outstanding and renowned artists." Sir David Manning, the British Ambassador to the United States, accompanied by Philip King and Brendan Neilan, the president and director of the Royal Academy of Arts, met with Master Yiyun Gao and his wife, Professor Wang Yuhua, to express respect for the master's achievements and congratulate him on receiving the honor. Mr. Andy Mackay, the cultural counselor at the British Embassy, attended the award ceremony.
The rhythmic sculpture art, created by the internationally renowned master Yiyun Gao, was officially recognized by the Royal Academy of Arts in January 2004, which is the highest art institution in the world. All graduates from this academy are great artists. The academy's director Brendan Neilan and vice president John Wilkins signed a certificate on New Year's Day 2004, confirming that Master Yiyun Gao's rhythmic sculpture is a unique work of the highest quality, having transcended nature to create an artistic masterpiece of beauty that cannot be expressed in words. The rhythmic sculpture works recognized by the Royal Academy of Arts include "Mystical Stone Mist," "A Stone Across the Beauty," "Bright Lingxi," "Spirit Mountain Golden Melody," "Color Rhythm Xuan Huang," and others. The highest artistic crown is bestowed upon the rhythmic sculpture created by Yiyun Gao in the United States, and this news has attracted attention from all sectors in Washington. In recognition of Master Yiyun Gao's artistic contributions to humanity, the Organization of American States, composed of thirty-four countries including the United States, Canada, and Mexico, formally recognized Master Yiyun Gao as the Great Dharma King in July 2003. Additionally, on October 28 and 29, 2003, an exhibition of rhythmic sculptures was held in the Gold Room of the U.S. Capitol, where nearly four hundred members of Congress and congressional staff actively wrote sincere thoughts in the guestbook, praising and marveling at the unprecedented outstanding achievements in the history of rhythmic sculpture art, witnessing the true accomplishments of the world's three historical transcendental founders. Zhang Tianyou, president of the Yiyun Gao International Cultural Foundation, revealed that rhythmic sculpture works such as "Langga Luobu," "Stone in Mist," "Green Jade Sculpture Canopy," "Orange Rattan Stone Fortress," "Coral Reef," and rhythmic calligraphy have been leased by the International Art Company for twenty years and will be exhibited worldwide. These exhibitions do not belong to the master or the Yiyun Gao International Cultural Foundation.
