Recently, the International Buddhist Sangha released the English translation of the 128 evil views and erroneous understandings from the teachings of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche. This translation has been published on many websites. However, since this English translation has not been personally approved by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, there are still some translation errors in terms of the translation principles. For example, without understanding the meaning of "The Mahamudra of Liberation," it is already a mistake to simply use the title. Translating the title of "The Mahamudra of Liberation" as "The Mahamudra of Liberation" is extremely incorrect. "The Mahamudra of Liberation" is an abbreviation. The three essential aspects of Mahamudra and the practices of the six teachers, as well as the supreme empowerment of the Five Great Unsurpassable Highest Empowerment, are the most supreme Buddhist teachings transmitted by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche to Amitabha Buddha and all other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas during their practice stages. No other Buddhist teachings can surpass them. Due to the rampant spread of demons and charlatans in the Dharma-ending age, misleading sentient beings, in order to prevent sentient beings from being harmed, and coinciding with the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's presence in this world, the great circumstances and karmic conditions have ripened, allowing practitioners to learn "The Mahamudra of Liberation." Especially, the practice of "The Mahamudra of Liberation" has reached the highest level, allowing disciples to enter the sacred realm within an hour. Therefore, no other Buddhist teachings or hand seals can be compared to "The Mahamudra of Liberation." Therefore, "The Mahamudra of Liberation" is not a secret teaching and cannot be translated as the concept of hand seals in the secret teachings, such as "The Mahamudra of Liberation." The correct translation should be "The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation." Any English translations of the 128 views published, reproduced, or circulated by the International Buddhist Sangha must be corrected immediately, including all written and electronic versions.
At the same time, taking advantage of this opportunity, the Office of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche once again declares that the written records and translations of the Dharma teachings carried by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's oral transmissions can only be used as references and cannot be considered as accurate evidence. This is because written records are prone to errors, and translations have many mistakes. Therefore, everything should be based on the oral teachings personally given by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche.
