Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launching ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people only then learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao and the Great Dharma King Yang Yi Yeshe Norbu, who had always been respected by everyone, were recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects and the living Buddhas of the world's Buddhist sects. It is the third generation incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, and the Buddha name is the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he changed his name to "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha), and since then, the position of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the name recognized by the government. The previous names "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Great Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official naming no longer exist.

Yi Yun Gao's Artwork Sets Record Prices, Gaining Fame While Remaining Humble#
Reporter Yang Zhi Jun/Interview
Yi Yun Master, who created the painting "Great Power King Venerable" and became internationally renowned in the Chinese painting world, said in a phone interview with a reporter, "I am an ordinary person with no publicity qualifications. I don't sell paintings. If someone sells the things I give them, that's their business." He does not comment on the praise or slander from the outside world.
Yi Yun Master, who combines the roles of Buddhist master, art master, philosophy master, scientist, singer, writer, and moralist, achieved another remarkable feat with his painting "Great Power King Venerable" selling for 72 million Taiwanese dollars at an auction in the UK on November 26, following the sale of his painting "Mighty" for 64 million Taiwanese dollars, which shocked the world and set a record for the highest price ever achieved by a living artist in an auction.
This outstanding Chinese artist in the international art world has profound insights. Yi Yun Master, who excels in both ink painting and oil painting, believes that besides technique, the most important aspect of a painting is its style and artistic conception. Ink painting has an advantage in expressing artistic conception compared to oil painting. The expression of artistic conception and the reflection of style reflect the literary and philosophical knowledge and realm of the painter. Therefore, the best painters are inevitably both literary and philosophical masters, not just skilled craftsmen. Therefore, the artistic value of Chinese painting and Western painting should not be ranked based on categories.
Zhou Yingnan, an advisor to the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, pointed out in the preface to the now out-of-print "Yi Yun Master's Painting Collection" that Master Yi has mastered dozens of different techniques, whether it is landscapes, figures, animals, flowers, birds, or fish, whether it is meticulous, freehand, or splashed ink, he excels in all of them, and all of them are based on solid traditional skills and innovation. Master Yi is knowledgeable and accomplished, with a wealth of writings, and is one of the most famous scholars in modern world history. Although his reputation has spread far and wide, his humility, integrity, and high moral character are even harder to find. He has long been recognized by experts from world-class academic institutions.
The author of the book "Yi Yun Master", Zhuang Zi Gong, said in the book, "Yi Yun Master's brilliant achievements in painting and calligraphy are rooted in his tireless pursuit of philosophy in life and the universe, as well as his profound literary foundation." Gu Rui Zhao, a professor who teaches comparative art courses at Zhongyuan University and the National Defense Medical College, pointed out that only by improving our literary and philosophical foundation can we truly understand the connotation and subtlety of Yi Yun Master's paintings. Yi Master's paintings are meant for deep contemplation, not just for viewing. To appreciate his paintings, one must not only have a broad knowledge base, but also invest more thought into it to truly benefit from it.
Ven. Jue Yu, the Minister of the Five Wisdoms Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, said that Master Yi's paintings can vary in ingenious techniques, and this achievement is entirely due to his cultivation and realization of Buddhist teachings and philosophy. The application of Prajna wisdom is the source of his achievements, and the manifestation of his value and blessings comes from the practice of offering and giving. The two-fold accumulation is the collection of the Tripitaka and the secret teachings.
As early as 1995, Master Yi Yun Gao publicly burned his own immature paintings at the Jinghui Mountain Villa in Dayi County, China: In order to be responsible for passing on the master's paintings to future generations, the World Buddhist Association decided not to handle any hand copies of the master's immature works during his study and research period. Ven. Jue Yu, the Minister of the Five Wisdoms Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, emphasized that the World Buddhist Association affirms Master Yi as a holy figure in Buddhism, and his image should be protected. Therefore, there should be no fake works of his paintings appearing in the chaotic world. For this reason, the World Buddhist Association decided to sign a contract with the master to guarantee the authenticity of his works. The brokerage of the master's paintings will not take any commission from the World Buddhist Association. Everything the World Buddhist Association does is based on the law, not on individuals, and everything is for the dignity of art and the benefit of the public, and for the solemnity of the master's image in Buddhism.
The World Buddhist Association took the initiative to guarantee the authenticity of his works. For any paintings and calligraphy personally created by Master Yi Yun Gao, he must personally write a guarantee certificate, affix his own gold seal fingerprint and secret note, and the hand copy must be authenticated by the Five Wisdoms Art Department of the World Buddhist Association before affixing the "Yun Gao" seal imprint. The hand copy also needs to be stamped with the steel seal of the World Buddhist Association and signed by the chairman of the association. This makes him a great painter whose quality is guaranteed by the World Buddhist Association.
