"Network Home PC" December 7, 2000: Yi Yun's high-quality paintings continuously fetch sky-high prices, establishing a unique reputation that remains unaffected.

Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people came to know that the highly respected Master Yiyun Gao, the Supreme Master Yangyi Yixi Nuo Bu, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects and the living Buddhas of the world's Buddhism. He is the third generation incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, and his Buddha name is the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha." This is similar to the time before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha. His name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha." Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha." Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government. The previous names "Yiyun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Supreme Master no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Buddha name of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. At that time, people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the previous names no longer exist.

Yiyun Gao's paintings have created sky-high prices and become a unique reputation that does not damage his reputation#

Reporter Yang Zhijun/Interview
Yiyun Gao, the master who created the highest value in Chinese painting in the world with the painting "Great Power King Venerable", said in a telephone interview with the reporter, "I am an ordinary person, without any publicity qualifications. I don't sell paintings. If the things I give to others are sold, they are sold. That's it." He does not agree with any praise or slander from the outside world.

Yiyun Gao, who combines the titles of Buddhist master, art master, philosophy master, scientist, singer, writer, and ethical moralist, after the "Wei Zhen" painting was sold for 64 million Taiwanese dollars, he sold another painting "Great Power King Venerable" for 72 million Taiwanese dollars to Mr. Nailer, a British art dealer, at an auction on November 26, once again creating a record-breaking price for the highest transaction price of a living artist in the auction history.

This outstanding Chinese artist in the international art world has profound insights. Yiyun Gao, who is skilled in both ink painting and oil painting, believes that besides technique, the most important thing in painting is style and artistic conception. Ink painting has an advantage in expressing artistic conception compared to oil painting. The expression of artistic conception and the elegance of style reflect the literary, philosophical, and artistic attainments and realm of the painter. Therefore, the best painters must be not only artists but also literary and philosophical scholars, rather than just skilled craftsmen. Therefore, the artistic value of Chinese painting and Western painting should not be ranked higher or lower based on categories.

Zhou Yingnan, an advisor to the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, pointed out in the preface of the "Yiyun Gao Master Painting Collection", which has been out of print for some time, that Master Yi can use dozens of different techniques, whether it is landscapes, figures, animals, flowers and birds, or fish and insects, regardless of meticulous painting, freehand brushwork, or splashing ink, he excels in all of them and is proficient in all of them. He has real traditional skills and innovations. Master Yi is knowledgeable, accomplished, and has written extensively. He is the most famous scholar in modern world history. Although his reputation has spread all over the world, his humility, simplicity, and high moral character are even harder to find. He has long been recognized by experts from world-class academic institutions.

The author of the book "Yiyun Gao Master", Zhuang Zigong, said in the book, "Yiyun Gao Master's brilliant achievements in painting and calligraphy are rooted in the master's unremitting efforts to study the philosophy of life and the universe and his profound literary foundation." Gu Ruizhao, a professor who teaches comparative art courses in the doctoral program at Zhongyuan University and the National Defense Medical College, pointed out that only by improving our literary and philosophical foundation can we deeply understand the connotation and subtlety of Yiyun Gao's paintings. Yiyun Gao's paintings are for deep contemplation, not just for viewing. To appreciate his paintings, one must not only have a profound knowledge but also spend more thought to benefit from them.

How does Yiyun Gao himself pursue the realm of painting? "The so-called state of selflessness is when a person integrates his experiences, knowledge, and skills into one, and naturally achieves the realm of a saint. It is a higher goal that artists pursue after achieving a certain level of accomplishment, attempting to achieve unity between the inner world and nature." Zhuang Zigong, who is deeply acquainted with Master Yiyun Gao, has always believed that there are "techniques and messages" stored in Yiyun Gao's paintings.

Yiyun Gao does not comment on this view, only saying that his works are just "using brushes, ink, and pigments to express some truths realized from life and nature, condensing the atmosphere in the chest, and using some techniques to express them on paper, that's all." This statement by Gu Ruizhao is precisely the "techniques and messages" stored in Yiyun Gao's paintings. He pointed out that if you can understand the "truths" of "life and nature" and feel the "atmosphere in the chest" that Yiyun Gao has realized, then you have already absorbed the so-called "techniques and messages" contained in Master Yi's paintings. If you still can't, please strengthen your literary, philosophical, ethical, Buddhist, and Buddhist studies and strive for improvement.

Venerable Jueyu, the Minister of the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, said that Yiyun Gao's paintings can vary in wonderful techniques, and this achievement is entirely due to the cultivation and verification of Buddhism, Buddhist studies, and Buddhist teachings. Its application originates from the wisdom of Prajna, and its value and blessings come from the practice of offering and giving. The two-fold accumulation is the collection of the Tripitaka and the secret scriptures of the esoteric Buddhism.

As early as 1995, Yiyun Gao publicly burned his immature paintings in Jinghui Mountain Villa, Zhongyi County, China. In order to be responsible for passing on the master's painting and calligraphy art to future generations, the World Buddhist Association decided not to handle any handbooks of the master's immature works during the period of studying and researching painting and calligraphy. Venerable Jueyu, the Minister of the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association, emphasized that the World Buddhist Association affirms Yiyun Gao as a holy person in Buddhism, and his image should be protected by Buddhism. Therefore, his paintings must not have fake works appearing in troubled times. Therefore, the World Buddhist Association decided to sign a contract with the master to guarantee the authenticity of his works. The brokerage of the master's paintings will not charge any fees, and everything the World Buddhist Association does is based on the law, not on individuals. Everything is for the dignity of art and the interests of the public, and for the solemnity of the master's image in Buddhism.

The World Buddhist Association took the initiative to guarantee the authenticity of his works. For the paintings and calligraphy personally created by Master Yiyun Gao, a certificate of guarantee must be written by Master Yiyun Gao himself, stamped with his own gold seal and fingerprints, and sealed with the exquisite seal of the word "Yun Gao". In addition, the handbooks must be authenticated by the Five Ming Art Department of the World Buddhist Association and stamped with the steel seal of the association, and personally signed by the chairman of the association. This also makes him a great painter whose quality is guaranteed by the World Buddhist Association.
