[Los Angeles News] In order to celebrate the birthday of the Medicine Buddha, in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha to show compassion and benefit all beings, the "World Buddhist Headquarters" held the "Buddha's Birthday" release ceremony on October 29th and October 30th at the Inner Harbor in Marin County, California, and the "Congratulations to the Medicine Buddha's Birthday Ceremony" at the Holy Relic Temple in Pasadena.
The two-day ceremony attracted hundreds of Buddhists from various states in the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, China, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries and regions. Holy monks, high monks, Rinpoche, Arhat, Dharma teachers, and lay disciples gathered together, creating a grand and solemn scene.
On the 29th of the lunar calendar, it is the holy day of the birth of the Medicine Buddha. The Medicine Buddha is also known as the Buddha of Healing and Longevity, or the Great Medicine King Buddha. He is the leader of the Pure Lapis Lazuli World in the East. When the Medicine Buddha was practicing the Bodhisattva path, he made twelve great vows, vowing to heal all kinds of diseases and suffering in the world, allowing sentient beings to attain physical and mental well-being, increase their blessings and longevity, eliminate the disease of life and death, guide sentient beings to liberation. Therefore, he is respected and revered by all Buddhists.
The Holy Relic Temple is a temple directly under the World Buddhist Headquarters. It is a temple that exhibits a large number of tangible Buddhist relics. The main hall of the temple is the only "Inner Secret Altar" established in accordance with the two major regulations in the world today.
The World Buddhist Pope, the Third Dujieqiang Buddha, has presided over many successful Dharma assemblies with tangible manifestations in the main hall of the Holy Relic Temple, imparting superior Buddhist teachings and speaking the true Dharma to Buddhist disciples from different backgrounds and origins from all over the world, guiding them on the path of liberation that emphasizes both practice and learning.

On October 30th, during the ceremony to celebrate the birthday of the Medicine Buddha at the main hall of the Holy Relic Temple, under the leadership of the Vice Chairman of the World Buddhist Headquarters, the Honorary Chairman of the International Buddhist Sangha Association, the Holy Monk Jin Kou Er Duan, the Abbot of Huazang Temple, the Holy Monk Jin Kou Yi Duan, the Holy Monk Jin Kou Jian Hui Duan, and the Abbot of the Holy Land Lecture Hall and Bodhi Retreat, Venerable Jue Hui, the holy monks, high monks, and monks chanted the "Medicine Buddha's Original Vows and Merit Sutra" together. The ceremony included offering to the Buddha, reciting scriptures and mantras, worshiping the Buddha, and releasing living beings, praying for the birthday of the Buddha and dedicating blessings to all beings in the world, praying for the blessings and protection of the Medicine Buddha and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, hoping to eliminate the global epidemic as soon as possible, maintain friendly and peaceful relations internationally, and bring disaster relief and peace, longevity, and well-being to the American people and people around the world.
