"Minshi News" November 13, 2020: World Buddhist Pope, Namo the Third Dajieqiang Buddha

World Buddhist Pope Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo
[Reporter Sun Yiqiu/Comprehensive Report] The enthronement of the world Buddhist Pope Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo originated in January 2018. The World Peace Prize Awarding Committee and the World Peace Prize Religious Leaders' Appointing Committee decided to confer the title of world Buddhist Pope and the highest leader of Buddhism on Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo, but he refused to accept it. The World Buddhist Headquarters, in order to promote the correct Dharma and benefit sentient beings, voluntarily accepted the enthronement decree and token. When the World Buddhist Headquarters presented the enthronement decree and token of the world Buddhist Pope to Qiangfo, he said, "Originally, the token had the image of Shakyamuni Buddha on it, and we should respect Shakyamuni Buddha. Then he raised it above his head, clasped his hands together as a sign of respect. However, he stated that he was just a humble practitioner and firmly refused to accept this conferment, immediately returning it to the two committees.
On September 23rd of this year, the World Peace Prize Awarding Committee and the World Peace Prize Religious Leaders' Appointing Committee made a final joint resolution, determining that the return of the enthronement decree and Pope's token by Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo was invalid. Therefore, on September 24th, Ms. Suzi Leggett, Chairwoman of the World Peace Prize Awarding Committee and the World Peace Prize Religious Leaders' Appointing Committee, came to the Holy Land Temple affiliated with the World Buddhist Headquarters and made the ultimate announcement: "For decades, our organization has awarded the World Peace Prize to President Reagan, Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Rabin, as well as many presidents and prime ministers of various countries. There has never been a precedent for returning the award. Any decision made by our organization and already implemented is a very serious and solemn decision that will not be changed.... The return of the enthronement decree and Pope's token by Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo is invalid. The world Buddhist Pope can only belong to Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo, and no one has the right to replace him!" Chairwoman Leggett will once again ask the World Buddhist Headquarters to accept the returned enthronement decree and Pope's token on behalf of Namo Qiangfo.
Venerable Mozhizun, representing the World Buddhist Headquarters, accepted the enthronement decree and Pope's token conferred by the two committees. In his speech, he said, "The World Buddhist Headquarters believes that the decision of the two committees is very correct and wise! Since the manifestation of Shakyamuni Buddha, there has been no supreme leader of the Buddhist community like the Buddha himself. However, the position of the Pope must be held by a leader qualified to represent not just a single Buddhist sect, but the entire Buddhism. Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo's perfect Buddhist teachings meet the standards recognized by all sects, conform to the essence of the Buddha, and meet the Buddha's inner realization. Only by relying on the essence of the Buddha, surpassing the fifty-nine stages, can one reach this standard. He embodies the virtues of the Buddha, possesses the complete understanding of the esoteric and exoteric teachings, and fully embodies perfection. For over two thousand years, there has been no second Buddhist holy figure with such qualifications. Only Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo can bear the incomparable burden of the Buddhist Pope and guide the correct path of Buddhist learning. Therefore, on behalf of all Buddhists, the World Buddhist Headquarters is extremely grateful for the final decision made by the World Peace Prize Awarding Committee and the World Peace Prize Religious Leaders' Appointing Committee."
Namo Third Generation Dorje Qiangfo is selfless and pure, with the essential qualities of the Buddha, reaching the pinnacle of the five understandings. He is the foremost figure in Buddhism, without a second eminent monk or great virtuous person in Buddhism who possesses such completeness. It is only natural and well-deserved for him to be the Buddhist Pope.
