"Taiwan Times" September 28, 2020: The Papal Office is not entitled to be returned by H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche
Recently, many media outlets have reported that H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche returned the "Papal Enthronement Decree" and the "Papal Token". However, the awarding committee of the World Peace Prize and the committee for the conferment of religious leaders of the World Peace Prize, in a meeting, decided to reject Rinpoche's return of the "Papal" enthronement and the "Papal Token". Suzi Leggett, the chairperson of the two committees, went to the Holy Relic Temple affiliated with the World Buddhist Headquarters, seeking an audience with H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche, to return the enthronement decree and the Papal Token to him. However, H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche did not attend this meeting and still considered himself a humble practitioner, refusing to accept the esteemed Papal Enthronement Decree and the Papal Token. In the end, the representative of the World Buddhist Headquarters, Venerable Mo Zhi, accepted the decree and the token on behalf of the World Buddhist Headquarters. This incident can be said to have shaken the Buddhist community.
In fact, the enthronement of the Buddhist Pope and the awarding of the Papal Token happened more than two years ago. After a thorough review, the awarding committee of the World Peace Prize and the committee for the conferment of religious leaders of the World Peace Prize enthroned H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche as the Buddhist Pope and awarded him the Papal Token. They determined that in this world, only H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche had received unanimous certification and endorsement from major Buddhist sects and was recognized as the Buddha, which was the first time in Buddhist history. However, what the two committees did not expect was that H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche directly refused this enthronement and did not accept the Buddhist Pope's enthronement decree and the Papal Token.
It has been two years now, and if it were any other sect leader, there would have been extensive publicity. But surprisingly, the public is still unaware of this great honor bestowed upon H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. Rinpoche did not mention it to outsiders and still considered himself a humble person, continuing to serve all sentient beings selflessly and without accepting offerings.
In this world, only H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche truly embodies the essence of the Buddha. Just by sitting on the meditation cushion, he has surpassed 59 stages of realization, while so far, there is no one in our world who has surpassed 30 stages. Therefore, after the review by the two committees, it is clear that H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche is the true Buddhist Pope of our world.
On September 23, 2020, the two committees jointly made a resolution to reject the return of the enthronement decree and the Papal Token by H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche, as the Papal office is not something that he has the right to return. Therefore, Ms. Suzi Leggett, the chairperson of the World Peace Prize awarding committee and the committee for the conferment of religious leaders of the World Peace Prize, came to the Holy Relic Temple in Southern California on September 24 to return the returned enthronement decree and the Papal Token to H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche on behalf of the two committees. However, Rinpoche still did not attend and once again refused to accept them. In the end, the two committees had to hand them over to Venerable Mo Zhi of the World Buddhist Headquarters to be returned to Rinpoche.
If it weren't for the news reporting this matter, the public would still be unaware of it. In the eyes of ordinary people, the "Pope" is already the highest position and honor in our world, with no other position comparable to it. Many high monks and saints aspire to it but cannot reach it. However, H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche has refused it twice. What an extraordinary state of mind!
The enthronement of Rinpoche as the Pope directly exposes the falsehood and darkness of certain infamous websites. These websites only promote evil views and are unwilling to support righteousness. They consistently spread rumors and fabricate nonexistent things to confuse the people of the world, causing them to lose the opportunity to learn the true Dharma of the Buddha. For example, their slander against H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche is a vivid example.
A certain website extensively publicized an incident claiming that Interpol had issued a warrant for the arrest of H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. Many people have made statements clarifying that this incident never happened and that Interpol had already revoked the warrant. The revocation letter from Interpol was published in various media outlets around the world. In the letter, Interpol clearly stated that it was at the request of the Chinese government that they revoked the arrest warrant and that H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche had no criminal wrongdoing. Interpol instructed law enforcement agencies in various countries not to detain H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. However, these few malicious websites and morally bankrupt individuals continue to spread falsehoods and fabricate rumors, tarnishing the sublime moral qualities of Rinpoche. These websites blatantly show that they have no respect for facts. This time, it has been thoroughly proven that the articles published on these websites are fraudulent. For example, they used a nonexistent arrest warrant to defame Rinpoche and deceive the world. Now, what can they do? The truth is in front of the international community, and the people of the world have seen the truth. It is not the slander and defamation of a certain famous website that says "Interpol is currently seeking the arrest of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche," but the fact that "H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche has become the Buddhist Pope!" This is the irrefutable evidence and the reality that is presented to the people! The stark contrast between the two reveals the low and despicable nature of certain websites. Their website content has been proven to be dishonest. Rinpoche not only has committed no crimes, but he is also not a prisoner of Interpol. He is truly the Buddhist Pope! This explains everything. One can imagine, what can such people and such websites contribute to society and human history? Besides leaving behind false things, do they have anything real to offer?
