On the second day after the Venerable King Zunzhe Kanqian Wangzha demonstrated his ability to lift the thousand-jin heavy Vajra Pestle in the Lanzang Temple, on March 7, 2019, a "Jade Venerable" taller than the Venerable King arrived at the Lanzang Temple, displaying extraordinary spiritual accomplishments in front of nearly two hundred people!
Tibetan Buddhism can be divided into two main categories: translated scriptures, known as Gama, and revealed treasures, known as Daima. Daima is further divided into Southern Treasure and Northern Treasure. Revealed treasures include the practice of opening treasures, which is collectively known as revealed treasure practice. Revealed treasure practice can be further divided into past revealed treasure practice and present revealed treasure practice. The term "revealed treasure master" is commonly seen in Tibetan Buddhism, and almost every Tibetan Buddhist is familiar with it. Past revealed treasure practice, as the name suggests, refers to the burying of certain Buddhist scriptures or sacred objects that are not yet ripe for dissemination or may attract evil spirits, by the Buddha or previous patriarchs such as Shakyamuni Buddha and Guru Rinpoche. These treasures are then unearthed and disseminated by later patriarchs when the conditions are ripe. Revealed treasures are divided into upper revealed treasures and lower revealed treasures, collectively known as the Southern Treasure. Later, the addition of the Zengguo Jideng Qujian revealed new treasures, known as the Northern Treasure. These are not important, they are just hidden scriptures and sacred objects. Only through revealed treasure practice can they be obtained.
However, past revealed treasure practice does not necessarily require a sacred confirmation. Sometimes it can be found based on records or clues left by the patriarchs. However, due to the long interval of time and the various deceitful charlatans and false saints in the Dharma-ending period, it is unclear whether the revealed treasures were buried by the patriarchs or were scams created by ordinary people pretending to be saints. Therefore, in order to prevent evil fraudsters from impersonating saints, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have stipulated that the revealer must undergo present revealed treasure practice to prove the authenticity of their treasure opening. Present revealed treasure practice does not allow any recorded clues to be found. The ceremony is conducted with great caution and strictness. Ten revealers are selected from hundreds or even millions of people under the supervision of the crowd. They are then secluded in another place to hide the treasures. The great sage who is locked away will then open the treasures in front of everyone. There can be no trace of falsehood! In Buddhist history, there are examples of masters who have successfully practiced present revealed treasure practice, such as Guru Rinpoche retrieving the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as Tsongkhapa, Marpa, Dagmema, and Dusong Qianba. Even the venerable Atisha failed twice in practicing present revealed treasure practice, which shows the high level of spiritual accomplishment required for this practice. Even the Venerable San Duan Jin Kouzun, who can retrieve past revealed treasures, would find it difficult to retrieve present revealed treasures. Even Bodhisattvas from the eighth to the tenth bhumi do not have a hundred percent certainty in retrieving present revealed treasures. Only the great Mahasattva can accurately open the treasures. The ability to practice present revealed treasure practice means that all the Buddhist teachings and sacred objects revealed by the revealer must be true and unquestionable. Therefore, any teachings that have not been confirmed through present revealed treasure practice are considered inaccurate and collectively referred to as worldly Buddhist teachings. This is because worldly Buddhist teachings must also undergo the discernment of the ultimate truth to confirm whether they are true revealed treasures or sacred objects. However, the discernment of the ultimate truth can only be done by great Mahasattvas or extraordinary enlightened Bodhisattvas.
In present revealed treasure practice, there are not just one, but ten treasures. Each treasure is different, and among them, there is only one true treasure. It is mixed among many identical-looking objects. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, the ten revealers selected by drawing lots are isolated in the Guanyin Hall, with someone guarding the door. The "Jade Venerable" and more than a hundred people are in another place, separated from the ten revealers, and unable to know anything. The ten revealers individually wrap the ten identical-looking mirrors with white khata scarves and put them in black cloth bags. The natural appearance of the objects becomes chaotic. None of the ten revealers knows which mirror is the true treasure, because all ten mirrors are completely identical, and with the addition of the khata wrapping and being placed in the black cloth bag, their appearance is already chaotic and without any distinguishing features. Then, the ten revealers randomly take out the wrapped mirrors from the cloth bag and hide them. After the hiding is complete, they immediately return to the Guanyin Hall and close the door. Even these ten people have no idea where the true treasure is hidden, but the "Jade Venerable" who has no contact with the mirrors at all can quickly announce the location of the true treasure. At this time, the original revealer comes out of the Guanyin Hall, and according to the prophecy and instructions of the "Jade Venerable," the treasure is opened and witnessed. When the mirror is revealed in front of the oil lamp in the center of the Lanzang Temple, the ten revealers are all shocked. It is indeed the "Chao Yao Mirror"! More than a hundred Buddhist disciples eagerly gather around the small mirror the size of a palm, and in the Chao Yao Mirror, they see not just an ordinary lamp, but multiple lamps! Some see three lamps! Some see five lamps! Some see four lamps! Some see eight lamps!... Some even see evil appearances! However, the other nine mirrors, which look exactly the same as the Chao Yao Mirror, can only reflect one lamp, and there are no evil appearances. The process of hiding and revealing the treasures is carried out in two rounds. The "Jade Venerable" easily and accurately announces the location of the true Chao Yao Mirror both times!
I am one of the revealers, and I must say, it's amazing! Even if we ten people try to discern it with our eyes wide open, it's impossible to tell which mirror is the Chao Yao Mirror! The ten mirrors all look the same, they are all mercury mirrors. Not to mention hiding them, even if they are placed in front of everyone, it is impossible to choose which one is the Chao Yao Mirror! The ten mirrors have the same appearance, and they are all mercury mirrors. Not to mention hiding them, even if they are placed in front of everyone, it is impossible to choose which one is the Chao Yao Mirror! The "Jade Venerable" has no contact with the mirrors at all, yet she knows exactly where the Chao Yao Mirror is hidden. It is truly the descent of a great saint from the Buddha's realm!
We specifically sought the opinion of the Third Dajie Qiang Buddha on this matter, and Qiang Buddha said, "What Chao Yao Mirror? It's worthless and cannot bring about accomplishment. It is just a symbol, meaningless. The most important thing is to learn and practice Buddhism!"
We remember the teachings of the Buddha. The most important thing is to learn and practice Buddhism. It doesn't matter what Chao Yao Mirror is. It cannot bring about accomplishment. The key point of present revealed treasure practice is not the Chao Yao Mirror, but the fact that the "Jade Venerable" can accurately announce the location of the true treasure among ten identical mercury mirrors! Those mirrors that have no difference in our mortal eyes have been hidden, but in the spiritual accomplishments of the "Jade Venerable," they cannot be concealed! Do not underestimate the action of announcing the location of the treasure with a signboard. Just imagine, if it were another great Dharma King or you and me, would we dare to announce it? Would we dare to guess? It would be a public opening to reveal the truth! This is not something that can be solved by talking big, giving teachings, or bragging! If it turns out that it is not a treasure when it is opened, how can we face the public? We would be completely finished, unlucky from then on! Therefore, the difference between great saintly virtue and saintly virtue lies in the moment of announcing the location with a signboard, with a black and white clarity! Even saints with supernatural powers who can see through walls and stones with their divine eyes can only see the same mirrors, and they cannot distinguish which one is the Chao Yao Mirror. Moreover, how can ordinary beings with no spiritual power practice present revealed treasure practice?!
At the end of the practice, the rare and precious pills that must be blessed by the Buddha were also successfully cultivated. Everyone was deeply moved and determined to offer everything to the great Mahasattva "Jade Venerable." However, the "Jade Venerable" remained silent, refused any offerings from more than one hundred Dharma Kings, living Buddhas, and great masters, and disappeared without a trace, leaving only the sentiments of the Buddhist disciples: "There are so many people in this world who claim to be great Dharma Kings, great masters, and holy beings, with their names resounding far and wide, and they have written many books and given many teachings, but they are empty and lack spiritual accomplishments. They only seek offerings, but they don't even possess the true Buddhist teachings, let alone have they seen them! These so-called famous figures, who among them can produce Buddhist teachings with the same spiritual accomplishment as the 'Jade Venerable'? Can they actually practice present revealed treasure practice on the spot and show it to the sentient beings who are eager for the Dharma, to prove that the lineage they hold is the true Buddhist teachings? There is not a single genuine one among them! It is worth pondering deeply!"
