[California, USA] In 2010, he won the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2013, the United States Senate unanimously passed a resolution affirming the qualification of the Nobel Peace Prize and its decision was correct, recognizing the status and contributions of H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche to humanity. On June 24, 2018, at the "Celebration of the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche" held at the World Buddhist Headquarters in Lake Shangtian, California, thousands of Buddhists from around the world publicly announced that the American flag was raised in the capital of the United States on May 15 to pay tribute to H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche, the highest leader of Buddhism. This act of raising the flag in the capital of the United States has made Buddhists around the world widely aware of the greatness and supreme status of H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche. It is understood that several senior members of the U.S. Congress, including committee chairmen and speakers, also sent letters to congratulate H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche.
H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche attended the ceremony held at the World Buddhist Headquarters. He was accompanied by multiple layers of police protection and walked from the red carpet to the pool. The attendees and the public along the way held khatas and knelt down, chanting the mantra "Namo the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche." During the ceremony, the sun was shining brightly, and despite the high temperature of around 82 degrees Fahrenheit, there was a cool feeling both inside and outside the venue. Venerable Mozhizun, the head of the World Buddhist Headquarters, said in his opening speech at the ceremony: "We want to thank our great United States. On May 15, our American flag was raised in the capital of the United States, flying in the air. This is a special celebration of the happy birthday of the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche! The flag-raising document of the U.S. Congress says: 'On the birthday of H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche, the American flag is flying over the Congress, paying tribute to the highest leader of all Buddhism, the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche.' Today, everyone sees the flag flying in the air, which is the flag raised in the Washington Congress and delivered to the office of H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche."
Venerable Mozhizun introduced to the thousands of Buddhist believers present: The location where the ceremony was held at the lakeside of Lake Shangtian is a very auspicious and blessed altar city. He said: "Underneath the position where we stand is a huge crystal lake, and beneath the land of Lake Shangtian, there is an underground river, one of the only two major rivers in the world from south to north. It is truly auspicious! This place welcomes great monks and masters to establish a Buddhist city. This Buddhist center city will strive to develop similar to the Vatican. The residence of H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche, the "Zhengfa Court," will also be established here. The entire Buddhist city will be surrounded by city walls, and inside the city walls will be a Buddhist holy land. The Buddhist city will be a very auspicious world Buddhist treasure land. In the future, everyone is welcome to come here. This place will become the only most solemn and prosperous Buddhist center city in the world!" Venerable Mozhizun also explained that so far, only the World Buddhist Headquarters and Lake Shangtian Company own land in this auspicious Buddhist treasure land. Other individuals or organizations do not own any land. Some people have raised the prices of houses around Lake Shangtian, which has increased the construction cost of the Buddhist city in the future. This selfish behavior not only causes inflation in the market price but also undermines the correct teachings.
Venerable Mozhizun said, "I am responsible for the work of the headquarters, so naturally, I have become a practitioner who benefits the public. Being able to serve the public, bring them some benefits and happiness, contribute to the prosperity and peace of the country and the world, and add one more liberated being to the Dharma realm, this is my job." After Venerable Mozhizun finished his speech, he knelt down and paid homage to H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche, calling on the Buddha to give teachings to the Buddhist disciples and wishing the United States prosperity and good fortune, and wishing the Buddhist disciples from various countries abundant harvests and favorable weather, with the joy of the Dharma filling their lives, and their blessings and wisdom being fulfilled, and to attain enlightenment early. H.H. the 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche ascended the platform to give a Dharma talk to the audience, emphasizing the importance of practice and the basic principles of learning Buddhism, and blessed each participant with a nectar pill. Just like the vows made in the past, it is only for the benefit of the public, without accepting any money or offerings. The disciples were all joyful, and the joy of the Dharma filled the venue. The ceremony was successfully completed.
