Pacific Daily, April 11, 2017: Due to the passing of Master Yinhai, the Dharma body transformed into an indestructible diamond body, creating a new chapter in Buddhist history (Part 1)#
The greatest miraculous event in the Buddhist world has been celebrated for months! Elder Yinhai predicted last December that his disciples would soon attain Nirvana. According to the elder's prophecies, at the time of his passing, a hundred sacred gatherings would be realized. These gatherings cannot be determined by human will, nor can they be set by Elder Yinhai or any higher Buddha; they arise from significant karmic conditions. As a result, on January 15, 2017, he passed away in California, USA, without any symptoms of illness, achieving the indestructible diamond body. Ten days later, his Dharma body manifested miraculous changes, creating a new chapter in Buddhist history. He was the chief mentor of the Tripitaka at the International Buddhist Headquarters (now renamed the World Buddhist Headquarters). The extraordinary circumstances of his passing corresponded with the elder's holy stature and identity: the revered Master with a golden button and four segments, returning to the Pure Land on a high lotus seat.
Elder Yinhai was a great practitioner and recluse, yet many highly accomplished temple abbots were his disciples, presiding over the examinations at the International Buddhist Headquarters. The revered Master Wangzha, who holds a golden button with three segments, is also his disciple. The sacred examination of the Vajra Array was transmitted by Elder Yinhai (the Great Master) to Master Wangzha. Decades ago, the elder moved to the United States, practicing in secrecy, and the results of his cultivation were revealed to the Buddhist community after his passing, demonstrating the extraordinary nature of his Nirvana, widely benefiting sentient beings on the path to Buddhahood.
Moreover, his remarkable achievements at the time of his passing demonstrated that the teachings he received from the Third Dharmakaya Buddha were of the highest sanctity.
Over ten years ago, due to the karmic retribution of past lives, Elder Yinhai had his tendons severed, lost too much blood, and died. Five days later, he resurrected, and his first words upon revival were: "Do not harm those who have harmed me in any way." This clearly demonstrates the understanding of karma and the practice of the "Great Seal of Liberation" in the "Essence of the Supreme Bodhi and the Ocean of Air," showcasing immense compassion and selflessness.
At that time, Elder Yinhai was unable to walk due to his severed tendons, but he received special blessings from the Third Dharmakaya Buddha, and on that very day, his tendons grew back. A person weighing over 130 pounds was carried by Elder Yinhai, who walked several steps with him, able to bear weight. The speed of his recovery was truly "miraculous."
On January 15 of this year, the holy monk Yinhai passed away again, with a prediction made a month prior.
At that time, Master Wangzha, the chief examiner at the International Buddhist Headquarters, publicly announced during the closing ceremony of the examination on December 30, 2016: "First, I congratulate the successful Buddhist educators who have attained their ranks; this is a joyful event. However, I must also announce a sorrowful event.
There is a holy master who once illuminated a dark room with nine scars of light, my most respected and the world's highest monk, Elder Yinhai, will leave us in mid-January next year. After his passing, he will create an unprecedented miraculous event in Buddhist history, a great joy! We should celebrate!"
Everyone thinks about it: how could severed tendons grow back? Dying for five days and then resurrecting, Elder Yinhai died for five days, came back to life, and lived for over ten more years. From then until his passing earlier this year, the elder faced no disasters or illnesses. The most miraculous thing is that every time he underwent a physical examination, the elder's health was as robust as that of a young person! This time, the elder left in a moment without any calamity or symptoms of illness.
To be born is to be born, to die is to die; this is true liberation from life and death! Elder Yinhai had many miraculous events in his earlier years. After his miraculous transformations, his skin was as tender and smooth as that of a newborn, maintaining this holy state for six years.
This is the teaching of "Returning to Youth" in the "Great Seal of Liberation."
The miraculous transformations after the passing of the holy master once again highlighted the profound nature of his holy state, an unprecedented event in Buddhist history, and he is the only holy master in history whose miraculous transformations occurred after passing, creating a new holy chapter in Buddhist history.
Upon reflection, who brings the dead back to life? This is due to the holy master's spiritual attainment!
Pacific Daily, April 12, 2017: The passing of Master Yinhai, the Dharma body transformed into an indestructible diamond body, creating a new chapter in Buddhist history (Part 2)#
The World Buddhist Headquarters is filled with high-level saints. As far as I know, there are at least two masters with a golden button and four segments, two masters with a golden button and three segments, two masters with a golden button and two segments, and four masters with a golden button and one segment.
Master Yinhai, Master Wangzha, Master Gelande Qinshi Le, and Master Diouke personally presided over a hundred sacred gatherings.
This statement is remarkable: "Master Yinhai personally presided over a hundred sacred gatherings." The person has already passed away and is lying in a coffin; how can he preside over the gatherings? This is precisely the meaning of "not dead but not alive." The death of the physical body is merely a false death. Elder Yinhai passed away but still exhibited signs of hair growth, his face gradually transforming from thin to round, and his skin becoming increasingly tender, even his fingers grew longer, and other signs of life appeared, reversing the decay of the physical body, manifesting the appearance of rejuvenation after death, showcasing the changes that occur through the practice of Buddhism. It is evident that the elder's spiritual essence is not the foul skin of an ordinary person but the embodiment of the treasures of the Dharma.
The announcement released by the International Buddhist Headquarters clarified the nature of these "hundred sacred gatherings," which is a grand Dharma assembly presided over by a great saint.
Its nature is akin to the "Lingshan Dharma Assembly" of Shakyamuni Buddha, a unique assembly that concludes and is finished; it is not something that any master or saint can hold anywhere. It is similar to the "Sutra Conclusion Assembly" of the Seven-Page Rock, which, once completed, ceases to exist. Even if two hundred Arhats were to sit there discussing the teachings, it would no longer be a "Sutra Conclusion Assembly"; the "Sutra Conclusion Assembly" has a fixed time, place, Dharma affairs, and presiding saint, making it a uniquely defined assembly.
Due to limited capacity at the funeral home in Los Angeles, Elder Yinhai's physical body could not be stored there for too long. Master Wangzha, responsible for arranging the hundred sacred gatherings, decided to transfer the Dharma body to a yet-to-be-opened Guanyin Hall at a temple in Los Angeles on the eighth day.
On that day, when the Third Dharmakaya Buddha consecrated the Guanyin Hall for the enshrinement of Master Yinhai's Dharma body, suddenly the heavy rain stopped, the sky cleared, and thousands of golden parrots (note! Thousands, not just dozens!) appeared, circling above the Guanyin Hall, their calls deafening, shaking the buildings, causing ripples in the water in cups on the tables inside. Please imagine that scene; how rare and extraordinary it was! This marked the beginning of the "hundred sacred gatherings."
The arrival of the thousands of golden parrots represented extreme auspiciousness.
Next, Master Wangzha arranged for seven groups of Buddhist disciples to recite scriptures daily in front of the Dharma body, holding three gatherings a day, with six to eight people continuously reciting the holy name of Guanyin Bodhisattva for twenty-four hours. This is because Master Yinhai practiced the "Great Seal of Liberation" in conjunction with the "Great Compassionate Ocean Red Guanyin Dharma." The Dharma body enshrined in the Guanyin Hall occasionally emitted unusual fragrances and light. Under everyone's watchful eyes, the Dharma body underwent daily miraculous transformations. As a humble practitioner, I personally participated in three gatherings a day for several consecutive days and witnessed that the Dharma body became increasingly white and delicate, with hair growing longer each day, and the complexion becoming rosy and increasingly dignified.
Master Ruohui, the abbot of Huazang Temple, Master Miaokong, the deputy abbot, Master Longhui, the director of Huazang Buddhist Academy, Master Xiangge Qiongwa, the founder of the Buddhist Right Dharma Center, Rinpoche Longzhou, Master Juehui, and many others, on the tenth day after Master Yinhai's passing, received permission from the Third Dharmakaya Buddha to touch the Dharma body. They discovered that the Dharma body was as hard as diamond. Master Longhui, who had previously shattered a ten-foot-tall orange tree with the Five Thunder Dharma Palm, publicly stated that she pressed down with great force on the softest part of the Dharma body’s cheek, only to be bounced back. The muscles of the Dharma body were as hard as stone, and the reaction force was unparalleled. Everyone was astonished; Master Yinhai's Dharma body skipped the usual three-year verification process required for those who have achieved significant accomplishments in cultivation and had, within just ten days, become a complete body of relics, with miraculous transformations, returning to a dignified and complete appearance!
Before a great achiever in the Dharma ascends to the rainbow body, their physical body should not be touched by anyone, especially by those who have violated the secret vows. Such karmic interference would prevent the transformation into the rainbow body.
Master Wangzha was very angry with the dozen or so people who touched Master Yinhai's Dharma body, stating that although over ten people had touched the Dharma body, fortunately, the holy state of Master Yinhai was very high and was not affected. He forbade anyone from touching the elder's Dharma body, which had become the diamond body.
Despite this, it did not affect the miraculous transformations of the elder's Dharma body. The Dharma body remained open and displayed without any refrigeration process, coexisting with the public. To prevent excessive dust from accumulating on the Dharma body due to the crowd, a transparent acrylic dust cover was placed over the coffin. Logically, after so many days of disturbance, a human corpse should have decayed and begun to smell, but the Dharma body became increasingly dignified. Whenever practitioners entered the hall where the coffin was kept, a sense of peace and auspiciousness enveloped them, as if they were in another dimension, feeling immensely happy.
I, a humble practitioner, drove alone to the temple. After the daytime recitation gathering ended, the sky was always surrounded by auspicious clouds, and on sunny days, it was a brilliant and beautiful scene. Along the way, I heard birds singing joyfully. At night, as I drove past the temple, I saw the bright moon shining, surrounded by auspicious clouds. Sometimes the moon and stars competed for brilliance, and the birds sang loudly, their calls breaking the serene starry sky.
According to American law, the funeral home staff must inter the body on the 32nd day. On the eve of the burial, the professional staff came to examine the elder's body and found that after thirty-one days, the features of the old monk lying in the coffin had completely transformed. A person who had been wrinkled and thin had become dignified and full, appearing as if they were two different people. The pure white beard not only grew longer and thicker but also sprouted three black hairs, and two fingers had also grown longer. Facing this unprecedented miraculous sight, the professional staff, who had handled countless corpses, were astonished and expressed their deep respect.
On the day when the holy monk's Dharma body was interred according to American law on the 32nd day, the Dharma body was carried to the holy site by four lamas, including Kongka Rinpoche and Chuanggu Zhugu, following the Buddhist ceremonial procedures. As the chanting gathering began, dozens of eagles circled above the holy site, only a few stories high above the crowd! In esoteric Buddhism, eagles represent the great golden-winged bird, while crows represent the Mahakala protector.
The arrival of the eagle flock symbolizes the presence of the great golden-winged bird, representing the arrival of Shakyamuni Buddha! Additionally, the flock of crows, representing the Mahakala protector, also circled above the holy site, singing praises.
What does this signify? It signifies that Elder Yinhai's achievements were praised by Shakyamuni Buddha!
The "hundred sacred gatherings" moved from the Guanyin Hall to the Rose Holy Land, continuing to be held daily. At the beginning of each gathering, the staff at Rose Hill witnessed eagles and crows flying in, and their movements were particularly different, with their calls changing as well. After the gathering concluded, they immediately flew away.
This is part of the manifestation of Elder Yinhai presiding over the gatherings, and the "hundred gatherings" must be completed in the presence of Elder Yinhai.
How did the hundred sacred gatherings conclude? On the day of the completion of the hundred sacred gatherings, it rained in the east of Los Angeles while the west was sunny, and a very distinct double rainbow appeared in the sky. As the rainbow faded, two golden dragons emerged in the orange-red glow, symbolizing the praise of humans and deities. I humbly took a photo of this wondrous scene to share with everyone. The red flowering trees planted at both ends of the road above the holy site were lush and full of red flowers, thriving, while other trees planted at the same distance had withered branches and dried flowers. I also took a photo to testify to the extraordinary nature of the holy site.
Elder Yinhai's spiritual attainment reached the level of "Yuzun," and according to the announcement from the International Buddhist Headquarters, he belongs to the golden button with four segments, second only to the golden button with five segments of the supreme Bodhisattva. Therefore, Master Wangzha referred to him as the world's highest holy monk. His achievements are not those of an ordinary holy monk but of a top-level holy monk, incomparable to the titles of ordinary old monks, great virtuous ones, or elders.
Such a remarkable completion of the hundred sacred gatherings brings immense merit. The merit surpasses that of thousands or tens of thousands of temple gatherings; those who encounter it are truly fortunate beyond measure. Master Wangzha will hold a "Root Guru Dharma Connection Empowerment" for practitioners who have participated in all hundred gatherings. The merit required for this empowerment is something that ordinary practitioners would need to cultivate for thousands or even tens of thousands of lifetimes to achieve. Those who complete the hundred sacred gatherings will receive such merit, gaining the opportunity to have the root guru personally converse with them and transmit the Dharma. This is because the merit of the "sacred gatherings" arises from special conditions; it is said that there was once such an occurrence in this world two thousand years ago. Participants dedicate the merit of their recitations to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, summoning back immense merit, enhancing their own resources. It is not that Master Yinhai needed their assistance in chanting. Chanting the sutras and invoking the Buddhas is through the auspicious conditions of the elder's gatherings, receiving blessings on-site, and achieving one's own spiritual resources. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do not require the assistance of those with foul, mortal bodies! Even if you assist in chanting for a thousand years, it would not compare to the elder's one day of practice.
Pacific Daily, April 13, 2017: The passing of Master Yinhai, the Dharma body transformed into an indestructible diamond body, creating a new chapter in Buddhist history (Part 3)#
Master Yinhai was a great recluse, and the outside world knows little about the elder's deeds.
The Master once composed a verse:
Since ancient times, sages have often been lonely, only recluses leave their names.
Do no evil, perform all good deeds, do not deceive, and cultivate great compassion.
A humble person is not a sectarian, good deeds and merits enter the Dharma gate.
If you seek the true Dharma to reach the peak, follow me and directly bow to the Buddha's lineage.
The Buddha's lineage refers to authentic Buddhism, not a sect of ancestors, but directly transmitted teachings from the Buddha, without any lineage or sectarian system.
Elder Yinhai told Master Wangzha that the best and highest teaching is the "Great Seal of Liberation." Elder Yinhai transmitted the "Vajra Array Dharma" to Master Wangzha. The Vajra of the Vajra Array is not unique to any one sect, but is directly related to the teachings of the Buddha, such as the eight great Vajras in the Diamond Sutra, the impure Vajra of Tangmi, the Wheel of Time Vajra of Tibetan Buddhism, and the Great Power Vajra, all of which belong to the Dharma principles. Which sect do they belong to? They do not belong to any sect's lineage but are directly authentic Buddhism; hence, it is the Buddha's lineage, not an ancestral lineage, and without a lineage, it is pure Buddhism.
The life story of Elder Yinhai is what people want to know. I, a humble practitioner, interviewed a disciple with the surname Tang who had interacted with Master Yinhai. He recalled that around 1980, approximately 37 years ago, he was tasked with picking up Elder Yinhai from the airport upon his return from France to Sichuan. At that time, there were eight people accompanying him, including the abbot and khenpos.
The disciple with the surname Tang said he felt that Elder Yinhai was very kind and polite. From the moment he got off the plane to the car, and upon entering the hotel room, he noticed that the elder's feet were always suspended in the air, about four to five centimeters above the ground. This left a deep impression on him. Later, at the Deyang Xiu Yi Yun Gao (Namo Qiang Buddha) Master Hall, before the hall was opened, Elder Yinhai was accompanied by the abbot of the Huazang Temple, Master Puguan, the abbot of Longju Temple, Master Tonghui, and Elder Wang Ting Guozhang, who were all his disciples. At that time, the construction of the hall was ongoing, and the ground was muddy due to several days of rain, making it a muddy path. The freshly mixed cement was everywhere, and to enter the Deyang Jinghui Mountain Park to the site of the Master Hall, the ground was so wet and muddy that it was impossible to walk without stepping on bricks.
Having had this previous experience, he paid special attention to Elder Yinhai's feet this time. He said that to enter the Guanyin Hall, one must pass through the muddy ground, and everyone's shoes were covered in mud or cement, dirty and messy. Only the elder wore white-soled monk shoes, completely clean, without a speck of dirt. As he walked into the Guanyin Hall, the path was spotless, without any footprints. In other words, Elder Yinhai did not walk into the Guanyin Hall; he floated above the ground while moving!!! Many people on-site witnessed this scene.
If everyone still remembers, do you recall the historical tale of the Zen patriarch Bodhidharma crossing the river on a reed? Some saw Bodhidharma pick up a reed and walk across the river without a boat.
Elder Yinhai demonstrated this ability to walk in defiance of gravity.
Now, you might say that walking above the ground and walking on the water seem different. Here, we must discuss the connection between Elder Yinhai and Master Wangzha, who holds a golden button with three segments.
Master Wangzha spoke of how he came to know Elder Yinhai. Their connection was formed on the water's surface.
Decades ago, Master Wangzha saw Elder Yinhai walking on the water's surface across the Jinsha River, and he bowed to the elder from the shore. The elder turned around and asked loudly, "Why do you bow to me?" Master Wangzha joined his palms and replied, "Holy monk, what is this Dharma?" The elder answered, "Dharma has no fixed form; form is emptiness, the surface of the floating water is shallow." Master Wangzha asked, "Can you teach me deeply?" The elder said, "The Vajra Array Dharma discerns right from wrong and crushes demons like ash." Thus, Master Wangzha followed Elder Yinhai into the deep mountains to cultivate in seclusion. Master Wangzha stated that the elder's spiritual power was immense; when they were cultivating in the cave, he personally witnessed the nine scars on the elder's head emitting light, illuminating the dark cave as bright as day, allowing non-human beings to be liberated at that moment. Master Wangzha said that the Vajra Array Dharma was transmitted to him by Elder Yinhai, and it was through the elder that he encountered the Third Dharmakaya Buddha over countless eons. He is grateful to the elder for his endless kindness.
He composed a verse in clerical script:
Elder Yinhai's merits shine across heaven and earth, the nine eyes of light breaking through the dark barriers.
Great compassion and Bodhi, the recluse leaves his name, riding the vow back to the highest lotus in the Pure Land.
After the holy master’s passing, the physical body underwent great transformations, creating a new holy chapter in Buddhist history.
Early on, he cultivated in the deep mountain cave, later he was close to the true teachings of the Buddha.
A humble disciple, Wangzha, palms together, February 15, 2017.
The World Buddhist Headquarters has published two comparative photos of the miraculous transformations of Elder Yinhai's Dharma body eleven hours and ten days after his passing, along with earlier photos and praises composed by Master Wangzha, inviting the seven groups of disciples to pay their respects.
Master Wangzha stated that he and Elder Yinhai received the empowerment of the realm from the Third Dharmakaya Buddha and the nectar of the Buddha. Elder Yinhai is a great saint who returned to the Pure Land, an achiever of the "Great Seal of Liberation" in conjunction with the "Great Compassionate Ocean Red Guanyin." He has now returned to the high lotus seat of the Pure Land.
As I write this, I want to remind everyone that Master Yinhai has left this world. He has achieved great accomplishments and returned to the high lotus seat in the Pure Land. As practitioners, we should ask ourselves, where do his achievements come from? Can we also achieve the lotus seat in the Pure Land like him? Can the Third Dharmakaya Buddha see me? How can we find the Third Dharmakaya Buddha, take refuge, and learn the Dharma? That is the greatest blessing that Elder Yinhai brings to practitioners.
Think about it: when Master Wangzha saw Elder Yinhai walking on the sea, he immediately took refuge and followed him into the cave for deep cultivation, achieving realization. Just like the second patriarch of Zen, Huike, who, after knocking out Bodhidharma's front teeth, chased after him to the riverbank. When he heard the boatman say that Bodhidharma had picked up a reed and walked across the river without a boat, he immediately realized he was wrong and sought the Dharma, determined to the point of being willing to sever his arm in the snow to respond to Bodhidharma's statement that he would only transmit the Dharma if red snow fell from the sky.
Now, with the Third Dharmakaya Buddha present in this world, holding such supreme Dharma, truly liberating sentient beings to enjoy the Pure Land of eternal happiness without suffering or worries, without the impermanence of change, if we do not seek to visit and learn the Dharma, are we not foolish? Should we still be led by karma in the cycle of six realms, listening to those so-called great saints who have no true attainment and cannot even ensure their own safety at the time of death, being deceived by their empty teachings, following false great saints, circulating in the cycle of life and death, seeking liberation indefinitely while suffering endlessly without escape!
Let us not forget that we now have the opportunity to meet the supreme Third Dharmakaya Buddha. Even a disciple of the Qiang Buddha, Master Wangzha, is a true great saint in contemporary Buddhism. I have had the opportunity to personally participate in many public ceremonies of the Eight Winds Great Array, witnessing the true nature of the Dharma manifest. Master Wangzha drew a yellow rope on the ground, establishing the golden button ranks. This time, no one could step into the rope circle; anyone who approached was immediately bounced back to the ground, unconscious. I ask: which great Dharma king or great master today possesses such genuine and true Dharma? It can be said that there is fundamentally none! Regardless of their high position or great title, there is fundamentally no actual Dharma to show everyone, only empty talk. Is that not the case?
