NEWS REPORT

At the just-concluded autumn auction of the New York Zhen Guan International Auction Company on September 12th, a painting of "Loquat" by H.H. the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha was once again auctioned off for a sky-high price of 10.2 million US dollars. This painting is small, only 6 square feet in size, with a starting bid of 9.2 million, and it was hammered down at 10.2 million, once again setting a record-breaking price at the auction. Calculated per square foot, it surpassed the world record set by him at the spring auction of 1.65 million US dollars per square foot, reaching a record-breaking price of 1.7 million US dollars per square foot, becoming the highlight of the entire auction.

The painting of "Loquat" by H.H. the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha, as described by ancient critics: simple at first glance, with hidden internal power, if you have doubts, try to paint and you'll find it difficult. Not afraid of not knowing the value, just afraid of comparing values, a dull brush and dead ink, imitating the painting but not resembling it. This painting truly achieves the essence of treasuring ink like gold in its conception, with no wasted or leftover strokes, just a few strokes, lofty and grand in style, lively in atmosphere, containing elegance, lightness, and comfort. It is completely different in style from the "Ink Lotus" painting that he auctioned off at the spring auction, one is bold and majestic, vast and spacious, the other is elegant and refined, seemingly inner beauty. Therefore, experts commented: "The painting of Qangjue Buddha is unpredictable, every stroke is divine, with endless charm. This painting of loquat is truly a masterpiece, living up to its name." The inscription on this "Loquat" painting reads: "Just a few strokes, the ink color is the skill, why make it complicated and cluttered." The painting not only bears the three-dimensional fingerprint seal of H.H. the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha, guaranteeing its authenticity, but also has two seals of "The 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha" and "Guiyuan". The calligraphy of the inscription is vigorous and powerful, with a strong and bold style, making it a unique and outstanding masterpiece.

This painting received praise from experts and collectors during the preview days before the auction, recognizing it as a rare treasure and truly a masterpiece by the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha. Therefore, as soon as the bidding for "Loquat" started, several buyers from Europe, America, and Asia raised their paddles. After several rounds of bidding, it was finally won by an affluent Asian lady who wished to remain anonymous, for 10.2 million US dollars. She didn't say much, just excitedly said, "I have always wanted to collect paintings by the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha, and today my wish has finally come true." Then, surrounded by a few security guards, she completed the formalities and hastily left the venue.

The paintings by H.H. the 3rd Dodgyi Qangjue Buddha can be said to have become rare and precious treasures. As long as the original works appear, whether at auctions in Taiwan, at the Huazang exhibition, at art galleries for private sales, or at foundation charity auctions, they are quickly snapped up at sky-high prices.
