This magazine reports from New York. In recent years, with the continuous downturn of the global economy, a large number of industries such as real estate, oil, and finance have fallen into difficulties. Dim market expectations have caused many investors to lose confidence and transfer large amounts of hot money to art collections. The influx of a large amount of capital has resulted in many works of art being sold at astonishingly high prices. On March 22nd, at the Spring Auction in the center of the world of art, New York, a white American buyer in his 60s won the bidding for a painting by Dojeqiang Buddha titled "Ink Lotus" for a sky-high price of $16.5 million (equivalent to 101,460,000 yuan according to the international exchange rate on that day), ranking first among all the auction prices at the Spring Auction.

It is reported that at the auction held in New York, rare jewelry and antique paintings brought by international auction companies such as Sotheby's, Christie's, and Zhen Guan attracted a large number of buyers from all over the world. The auction scene, filled with exquisite items, not only made many collectors who came from afar feel that there were great opportunities, but also made many art appreciators gasp in amazement. From the beginning of the auction, the frequent raising of bidding cards intensified the atmosphere of competition in the entire venue. Numerous buyers pressed on, repeatedly breaking the record prices of the works of various masters. Zhang Daqian's "Ancient Temple Hidden in the Deep Mountains" was sold for $233,000, Pan Tianshou's "Autumn Comes Late to the Courtyard" was sold for $162,000, "Lilies" was sold for $1,565,000, Wu Changshuo's painting "Chrysanthemum and Shell" was sold for $370,000, Shi Tao's "Three Wonders of Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting" was sold for $3,940,000, and Shi Lu's "Independent Spring Plum" was sold for $3,525,000. Zheng He's handwritten scripture book finally closed with a high price of $14 million.

Dojeqiang Buddha's "Ink Lotus" has a postscript that says "The messy broken brush fills the whole picture, how wonderful and delightful." It is regarded by many critics as a rare masterpiece. He has always focused on the good deeds of Buddhism, and his personally painted works are very rare. Earlier, the International Art Museum in the United States had tried to purchase his oil paintings "Sunflowers" and "Water Lilies" at a price of over $1 million per square foot, but ultimately failed. Therefore, when collectors and merchants heard the news, they rushed to the scene, and this "Ink Lotus" that participated in the auction naturally became the target of bidding. At the auction site, after several rounds of fierce and even crazy bidding, the final offer for the square foot painting of "Ink Lotus" was finally set at $16.5 million.

It is understood that Dojeqiang's paintings have surpassed the value of the works of Chinese masters at this Spring Auction. His limited edition reproduction of "Lotus Pond Carp" is priced at $380,000 per copy in the international market.
