據悉，世界和平獎是由世界和平獎評選委員會在美國國會眾議院舉行的頒獎儀式，2010 年度獲得世界和平獎的獲得者是第三世多杰羌佛、前眾議院外交委員會主席本傑明 - 吉爾曼，同時和平巡迴大使獎授予美國民用航空巡邏搜救組織。國際上許多電視台報導了這次頒獎盛況。第三世多杰羌佛榮獲世界和平獎，在世界最權威的報紙《世界日報》、中國大陸最權威的報紙《人民日報》、台灣地區最權威的報紙《台灣日報》等報紙進行了專版報導。
據美通社華盛頓電：“世界和平獎評審委員會” 於 2011 年 6 月 14 日在美國國會金廳舉行了隆重的頒獎儀式，向 2010 年「世界和平獎最高榮譽獎」得主：世界佛教領袖第三世多杰羌佛、前美國國會 “眾議院外交委員會” 主席本傑明、格爾曼的致敬。該慶典由 “世界和平獎” 創辦人韓敏洙先生主持。莅臨的嘉賓有多位國會議員及來自世界各地的貴賓。其中包括美國「參議院撥款委員會」委員馬克。可克先生；前國會參議員史蒂夫、司明先生；“眾議院國際事務委員會” 主席綺蓮那、樂斯、雷提寧女士；“眾議院監督及政府改革委員會” 主席達雷爾、以薩先生；“眾議院司法委員會” 委員史蒂夫。查博先生；“眾議院國土安全事務委員會” 委員希拉、傑克森、李女士；“眾議院交通運輸及鐵路小組委員會” 主席的歌蓮、布朗女士等。他們皆稱讚各獲獎人的卓越成就，為世界和平及教化作出努力，實至名歸。“世界和平獎” 多年來持續地表揚為建立及維護和平作出努力的人士。
“世界和平獎評審委員會” 一貫本著推進和平、平等、宗教間的合作為原則。評審委員會由創辦人韓敏洙先生領導，成員包括評審主席，前美國 “眾議院亞洲事務委員會” 主席萊斯特・沃爾夫先生；前美國國會議長辦公室參謀長蘇茜。萊格特女士；前以色列駐聯合國大使亞隡。柰先生；前印度大使布帕翠、奧扎先生；前 “南澳洲議會” 議長彼得。劉易斯先生；前 “聯合國教科文組織” 顧問江紹倫博士；俄羅斯退役將軍根納季、特莫先生。
“世界和平獎評審委員會” 創辦人韓敏洙先生，是一位韓國基督教領袖，一生以布道和道德為立身之根本，為了世界的和平發展、人類的友善仁愛，不遺餘力，無論是在韓國，還是在世界各地，韓敏洙先生都備受尊重，是一位道德仁愛的宗教領袖。
“世界和平獎評審委員會” 主席萊斯、沃爾夫先生，是一位資深的政治家，終生致力於世界的和平和穩定，尤其是對亞洲地區的和平發展，作出了極大的貢獻。1978 年代表美國國會訪問中國，奠定中美建交的原則和基礎；並同時保證了台灣海峽兩岸的和平和發展。沃爾夫先生曾參與剷除金三角的毒品，幫助當地的人民提升生活水平。1979 年，他曾在國會修正白宮發起的《對外援助法案》，促使以色列與阿拉伯國家恢復和平談判，為中東地區的穩定也作出了貢獻。
資深評審人蘇茜。萊格特女士，長期從事政治事務，在美國國會工作，曾任前國會議長辦公室參謀長。她的丈夫，前國會眾議員羅伯特。萊格特，是 “世界和平獎評審委員會” 的創辦人之一，也曾出任眾議院 “軍事服務委員會”、“財務委員會”，並且是 “眾議院巴拿馬地區商船及漁業委員會” 主席。為人大公無私，高風亮節，忠誠美國，一生支持維護美國人民幸福。
“世界和平獎最高榮譽獎” 得主第三世多杰羌佛，是全球佛教各大教派公認的歷史上佛教領袖。他忍辱、善良、利人、無私的高尚氣節，是眾人的道德模範，超過百位以上的著名法王、攝政王、大仁波且們，包括十七世噶瑪巴的上師都牧曲杰法王、嘉察攝政國師、夏瑪巴攝政王，楚西法王、達龍哲珠法王、秋吉崔欽法王等；以及佛教界佛法上更高地位的虹身法獨掌人多珠欽・土登成利華桑波法王、寧瑪派第三任總教主貝諾法王、西藏當今第一大聖德阿秋法王、覺囊派總法王吉美多吉法王等等，都先後認證、附議、祝賀第三世多杰羌佛在佛教的最崇高地位。第三世多杰羌佛是幾千年來獲得認證最多的頂聖如來。
2010 年 “世界和平獎最高榮譽獎” 的另一位得獎者本傑明。格爾曼先生，長期擔任美國 “眾議院外交事務委員會” 主席，他一生致力於為維護人權而努力：救援飢餓的人，為打擊濫用和販運麻醉品鬥爭。他並在 “交換囚犯計畫” 上取得重大成就。曾成功從東德、莫桑比克、古巴等地，拯救美國公民從獲自由。格爾曼先生在美國國會服務 15 任，共 30 年。在此以前，曾出任紐約州議會眾議員六年，及紐約司法部助理總檢察長。國會在任期間，他曾出任國會駐聯合國大使級代表；後來出任 “烏克蘭饑荒委員會” 副主席，以及 “戰俘委員會” 副主席等。格爾曼先生一生獲獎無數，包括美國總統傑出成就證書，表揚他 “持續的目標、倡議和領導才能，讓我們邁向一個沒有飢餓的世界。” 到現時為止，格爾曼先生依然每年獲 “美國安全委員會” 頒發 “和平力量” 獎。

Dorje Chang Buddha III. However, for anyone who is remotely interested, we refer you to the recognition of support for World Peace Prize by the U.S. Congress in the Resolution introduced by the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Robert Menendez:

Whereas the World Peace Prize is a prestigious award presented by the World Peace Corps Mission that celebrates individuals who have contributed tremendously to peace and enlightenment for humanity;

We do not idly choose the recipients of our Peace Prizes. It was after due diligence that H.H. Dorje Change Buddha III was selected to receive our 2010 award for his outstanding humanitarian efforts and the international community who enthusiastically applauded our choice. We too are aware of the continuing efforts of defamation directed at His Holiness in attempting to undermine his worldwide acclaim as a spiritual leader. The Phoenix Weekly story and the likes are just examples of destructive campaign being waged against him and the work of those who seek to bring a lasting peace to a tumultuous world.
