Yahoo Kimo October 15, 2013: High-speed flying nun

The Nun Who Flies at High Speed#

[Los Angeles News] In September 2013, a supernatural phenomenon occurred in Los Angeles that scientists could not explain. A 49-year-old nun named Jianhui from a monastery was able to fly at a speed of 700 kilometers per hour.
This happened during a grand prayer ceremony for good luck, favorable weather, disaster relief, and blessings. More than fifty participants were well-known Buddhist figures. According to the ritual, they had to recite scriptures and burn documents every ten minutes. When they reached the fifth document, they realized that it had been lost by the nun named Jianhui. She was devastated and started crying uncontrollably. Since the ceremony could not be interrupted, and the document could only be obtained from the Hua Zang Temple in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, it was decided that Jianhui, who lost the document, would go and retrieve it. However, it took a long time for her to return, and when it was time to burn the document within ten minutes, everyone at the ceremony was in a panic. They had to call the branch temple to inquire about when they could get it back. Several nuns at the temple transferred the call to Jianhui. Jianhui angrily said on the phone, "Stop bothering me! I will come back as soon as possible!" After hanging up the phone, indeed, within three minutes, everyone at the ceremony saw Jianhui return from the temple twelve kilometers away. They were all amazed. Nun Zhenghui, who was at the ceremony, felt it was miraculous and immediately called the temple to ask where Jianhui was. The temple replied that Jianhui had just left three minutes ago. After verification, it was confirmed that after Jianhui finished the call, she taught them the recitation mantra before returning to the ceremony. It was estimated that, excluding the time she delayed, the nun took only one minute to travel twelve kilometers.

Nun Zhenghui wanted to write about this incident in a book. In order to seek the truth, she went to the temple and found the nuns there. They all confirmed that when Zhenghui called, Jianhui had just left. Zhenghui also asked the nun who transferred the call to Jianhui, asking where she was at that time. The nun, Zhengxue, was very angry and suspected her. She knelt in front of the Buddha statue of Amitabha and made a solemn oath. She said that she received Zhenghui's call at the temple and personally transferred the call to Jianhui in the branch temple. If she was lying, she was willing to go to hell. Zhenghui also made a vow in front of the Amitabha Buddha statue, saying that after the call with Jianhui, within three minutes, Jianhui had already returned to the venue twelve kilometers away. If she was lying, she was also willing to go to hell. Buddhist monks such as Ludong Zanciren Jiacao, Kaichu, Akounamo, Shi Miaokong, Shi Longhui, Shi Juehui, and Shi Kuizhi thoroughly confirmed that they personally experienced this incident at the scene and it was completely true.

However, Jianhui said that she did retrieve the document from the temple, but she did not have the ability to fly. It was an illusion created by everyone. Recently, reporters personally asked H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche about this. The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche said, "I am ashamed that I do not possess such supernatural powers. Jianhui is my disciple, and we have been together for twelve years. She does not have this ability. If someone really has this ability, displaying such supernatural powers will immediately lead to severe illness, even death. You must understand that this is not something Buddhists should do. Buddhists should eliminate selfishness and benefit all sentient beings." As a result, on the third day of the ceremony, Jianhui indeed fell seriously ill, with a swollen face, pus flowing from her eyes and nose. She was rushed to the emergency room and almost died during the pus drainage procedure.

The participants believed that no matter what, this incident was of public nature, a fact of supernatural phenomena. Its interpretation from a scientific perspective still needs further exploration. Just like in 1995, when the Indian saint Kali Charan Paswan's body got stuck in a reinforced concrete wall while passing through it, it was a fact, but there is still no conclusion to this day.
