The United States International Art Museum held its grand opening ceremony in San Francisco on October 15th this year and has since become a new landmark in the world of art and culture. This international art museum, which was served as the honorary director by the late honorary chairman of the International Olympic Committee, Samaranch, is similar in nature to the platform provided by the Olympic Committee for the world's top athletes to showcase their talents. The United States International Art Museum provides a stage for the world's most elite artists to showcase their art. Since its opening, the museum has been flooded with visitors every day, with the exhibition halls packed. Many artists who have visited the museum have said that the level of art in this museum is extremely high and rarely seen in the world. The artistic level of many works has surpassed that of historical great artists.
The United States International Art Museum is located at 1025 Market Street in the bustling commercial district of San Francisco. It had a soft opening at the end of March this year and officially opened on October 15th. On the day of the opening, the sky was clear (see picture), and many people from all over the world flocked to San Francisco to attend the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives and dignitaries from various levels of the US government, and Mayor Lee of San Francisco made an important declaration, explaining the significance of the United States International Art Museum being located in San Francisco and highly praising the artistic achievements showcased by the museum. He announced that October 15th, 2011, would be designated as "United States International Art Museum Day" in San Francisco. This museum will become a hall for artists from all over the world to learn from and a must-visit place for art enthusiasts.
The main participants and dignitaries at the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony were: the director of the United States International Art Museum, Wang Yuhua Shou, International Olympic Committee member and International Boxing Association President Wu Jingguo, Chairman Margaret Huang, California State Assemblyman Fang Wenzhong, San Francisco City Council members Jin Zhenyan and Hu Yilan, and Cupertino City Council member Hu Yilan. Political figures who attended and congratulated the opening of the United States International Art Museum included: 28th District Congressman Howard Berman, 32nd District Congressman Judy Chu, California 36th District State Assemblyman, Mayor of San Francisco Lee Mengxian, San Francisco City Council members Zhu Jiawen and Jin Zhenyan, and Cupertino City Council member Hu Yilan.
International Olympic Committee member and International Boxing Association President Wu Jingguo personally served as the artistic director of the United States International Art Museum and was involved in the entire process of its establishment. He said at the opening ceremony of the United States International Art Museum: "The United States International Art Museum officially opened on October 15th. This is a very exciting thing. From now on, we can appreciate the most exquisite art in the world. I was involved in the preparation of this museum earlier and had the honor to work with the late honorary chairman of the International Olympic Committee, Sir Samaranch, who served as the honorary chairman of this museum. As a leader of an international organization that has received the highest human attention, Chairman Samaranch was very enthusiastic about the concept of the United States International Art Museum. He was deeply moved by the establishment of this museum and immediately agreed to serve as the honorary chairman of the United States International Art Museum. Furthermore, Chairman Samaranch promised to donate a personal collection of art treasures to the United States International Art Museum. Unfortunately, Chairman Samaranch passed away last year and was unable to witness the opening of the museum as he had always hoped. However, I believe that Chairman Samaranch's spirit is with us, and I hope that my presence here conveys his belief in this museum and his good wishes."
Both Samaranch and Wu Jingguo serve in the International Olympic Committee, the highest authority in the international sports competition, the Olympics. Why did they take on the role of the United States International Art Museum? What is the connection between these sports and art organizations? Wu Jingguo's explanation provides a fresh perspective. He said, "Just as the Olympic Committee provides a platform for top athletes, the United States International Art Museum also provides a stage for the world's most elite artists to showcase their art." In other words, this newly established United States International Art Museum is to artists what the International Olympic Committee is to athletes from various countries.
Wu Jingguo, who himself is an architect by profession and serves as the president of the International Boxing Association, said, "Due to my work, I have been to most countries in the world and visited many famous art museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Louvre in Paris, the British Museum in London, the Hermitage in Russia, the Prado Museum in Madrid, and the Palace Museum in China and Taiwan. I also have two legitimate museums of my own and am currently overseeing the construction of a larger 'Samaranch Memorial Museum' that will display over 10,000 precious artifacts." It turns out that Wu Jingguo is also an expert in museum construction and management. This person, who has two museums of his own and is building another one, said, "However, we must say that the United States International Art Museum exhibits the most exquisite and precious art in human civilization history, showcasing the essence of human art and bringing us an unprecedented artistic enjoyment. The appearance of Yun Sculpture has created an irreplicable art form that is extraordinarily beautiful and natural. The sunflowers and water lilies in the oil paintings surpass the realm of Van Gogh and Monet, reaching the realm of technique and artistic conception. The diverse changes and superb techniques in Chinese painting undoubtedly reveal the essence of generational artistic development." Spending almost 300 days a year shuttling between countries around the world to carry out work as the leader of an internationally important organization, Wu Jingguo has seen and knows a lot. His appreciation and analysis of art are profound and concise, and he has spoken about the position of the United States International Art Museum's exhibits in the history of human art.
Wu Jingguo said, "Art is a part of life and a part of human character. It carries the meaning and ideals of our society. The unique principle of the United States International Art Museum is to showcase the most outstanding masterpieces of famous artists from different backgrounds and different histories. I believe that the United States International Art Museum will become a new cultural and artistic landmark in San Francisco, making a contribution to the moral, spiritual, and cultural development of humanity and world peace that far exceeds the city of San Francisco and transcends national borders."
Steve Meyer, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the United States International Art Museum, emphasized at the opening ceremony, "The United States International Art Museum is a non-profit permanent art museum whose purpose is to promote the moral progress, spiritual health, cultural development, and world peace of all humanity through the exhibition and inheritance of the most exquisite and precious works of art in human civilization history. The United States International Art Museum only exhibits the masterpieces of renowned artists and does not exhibit the works of ordinary artists. The United States International Art Museum is not a religious art museum. It does not have any religious nature and is not private in nature. It is a public non-profit art museum. Artists of any religious denomination, such as Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, Judaism, etc., and non-religious artists are all equal as long as they meet the artistic standards. Their works are selected, collected, and exhibited by the board of directors of the United States International Art Museum."
