■The 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha was awarded the "2010 World Peace Prize"
The World Peace Prize Award Committee recently announced that the 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha and former U.S. Congressman, Chairman of the Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee, Benjamin Gilman, were the recipients of the 2010 World Peace Prize. The 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha is the first Buddhist leader to receive this honor, and the award ceremony will be held in the U.S. Congress in May this year.
The World Peace Prize, presented by the World Peace Envoy, is a prestigious and internationally recognized award. Recipients must have made significant contributions to world peace, such as ending wars, reducing famine, and promoting human development. After the announcement of this year's winners, major world media outlets pointed out that the 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha has selflessly dedicated himself to saving others on a global scale; his wisdom and compassion embrace all nations, races, cultures, and religions. Wherever he goes, his humility and compassion bring people together. Additionally, the 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha is an outstanding artist who, through his teachings, practices, art, and poetry, has shown humanity a path of non-violence, charity, and love.
In August this year, the global Buddhist community will hold a two-day heavyweight Buddhist conference in Hong Kong. The conference, organized by the International Buddhist Sangha Association based in San Francisco, aims to study and learn from the thoughts of the 3rd Dujieqiang Buddha. Over two thousand Buddhist organizations will participate, representing countries and regions such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the United States, Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and more.
