"The Oriental Times" February 5, 2010: The market price of the painting of the Third Dordje Chang Buddha breaks the world record, with over 900,000 US dollars per square foot.

Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launching ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha." This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha." Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha." Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous titles of "Yi Yun Gao" and Master and Dafa Wang no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official recognition of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official recognition no longer exist.

A notary public from a notary company was present at the auction.

Dr. Yu Hua's works have been exhibited in a special album by the Congress, and the Congress recorded that "no one can compare to the lotus flower in Chinese art history." Hand-carved and painted coral and pebbles have become "the world's wealth." The lotus flower painting "Lotus Fun" donated by Dr. Yu Hua, which is the main theme of lotus flowers, is naturally popular.

The market price of the painter's paintings is calculated per square foot. The painting size of "Lotus Fun" is 2.3 square feet, with a starting price of $10,000. As soon as the auction started, 40 buyers entered the competition, and many buyers kept raising the price. It was finally sold for $50,100, which is $21,782.6 per square foot.

A Great Mountain Scene in a Small Painting#

"Mountain Spring Ancient Village" is a miniature painting by the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, donated to the organizers for auction. After seeing this painting, an artist expressed his feelings, "Although the painting size of 'Mountain Spring Ancient Village' is very small, only a quarter the size of a palm, the misty clouds and towering mountains in the painting truly achieve the magnificent scenery of 'a great mountain scene in a small painting.' This is not just a simple ink composition, but a living landscape with strong vitality!"

The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is a master who has set the highest price in the history of Chinese painting in the world. In 2000, the painting titled "Wei Zhen" with the words "Yun Gao" and the lion group as the theme was sold for over 2.12 million US dollars at an international art auction. "Great Power King" was sold for 72 million New Taiwan dollars (over 2.2 million US dollars). In 2007, the International Buddhist Monastic Association publicly sold the lotus flower painting titled "Yun Gao" at an auction in San Francisco. It was sold for 300,000 US dollars per square foot.

The painting titled "Yun Gao Yi Xi Nu Bu" with the holy title of the Dharma King and fingerprints sold for 540,000 US dollars per square foot. The paintings circulated in the art market by the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the past were all large-sized paintings. This is the first time a miniature painting has been auctioned and has attracted great attention. "Mountain Spring Ancient Village" is titled "Third Generation Dorje Chang" and has fingerprints and watermarks. At the beginning of the auction, it started at $8,000, and buyers were crazy about bidding. It was finally sold for $35,100, setting a market price of $902,571.42 per square foot, breaking the highest record in the Chinese painting market among historical and contemporary celebrities.

Price of Buddha's Paintings Multiplied Tenfold in Ten Years#

There are many people in the world who specialize in collecting paintings by the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha (commonly known as Master Yi Yun Gao). Wang Guoxing, ranked seventh among China's top ten painters, has collected dozens of paintings by Master Yi Yun Gao. According to Chinese painters' appraisals, many of them are fake paintings with genuine seals. In recent years, there have been many fake paintings by Master Yi Yun Gao in society. The reason is that the seals used by Master Yun Gao in the early days and the stone carvings of idle seals have long been collected by various people in society through various means. Therefore, there are fake paintings with genuine seals, creating a situation where it is difficult to distinguish between genuine and fake.

Now that Master Yi Yun Gao has been discovered by high monks and great virtuous ones around the world as the true Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, his use of fingerprints has been changed in his works. Now, any genuine work of his will have his fingerprint seal, making it impossible for anyone to impersonate him. What's more important is that any painting by the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has a computer archive that can be checked and verified. Those who want to buy paintings must first have them appraised by the Calligraphy and Painting Appraisal Committee jointly established by the United States Advanced Art Museum, the International Headquarters of the United Nations World Buddhist Association, and the International Buddhist Monastic Association. This way, they will not be deceived into buying fake paintings. As long as there is the fingerprint seal of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha and a computer archive of the genuine work, there is a great potential for appreciation.

Based on the price of $66,250 per square foot for the "Wei Zhen" painting in 2000, the current market price after ten years is $902,571 per square foot, an increase of 13.6 times. Since the identity of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha was announced, this Buddha's identity has left him with no time to paint. Therefore, each painting is infinitely precious and priceless. It can be imagined that in another ten years, the paintings of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha will increase by many times. The potential for appreciation will be at least tens of times higher than the skyrocketing prices of the previous decade. It is no wonder that so many people are crazy about bidding.

Superb Art Dragon Palace Treasure - King, White Jade Pearl, Dr. Yu Hua's Painting#

The organizers stated that this exhibition showcases ten lotus flower paintings by Dr. Yu Hua and two world-class perfect works of art, hand-carved and painted coral "Dragon Palace Treasure - King" and "Dragon Palace Treasure - White Jade Pearl" (matching flower vase - red embroidery), borrowed from the United States Advanced Art Museum. Among them, the two hand-carved and painted coral pieces are being shown for the first time. When many people saw "Dragon Palace Treasure - King," their first impression was "How is this possible!" There is such a huge king of coral in the world, and such magnificent and elegant coral cannot be found in the entire ocean. It is named "Dragon Palace Treasure - King," and it is well-deserved. "Dragon Palace Treasure - White Jade Pearl" presents a natural and noble pink and white appearance, which is amazing. Although the entire coral of the white jade pearl appears white, there are many layers of changes within the white. The natural beauty of the coral is truly incomparable. The most important thing is that it gives people a sense of comfort and enjoyment of beauty.

An art critic said, "This is not coral from the sea, but a work of art that is created from scratch, using special materials and hand-carved and painted with oil colors. The color layers are very rich, with a jade-like luster and pure texture. It is not only indistinguishable from the real thing but also more ancient, elegant, and beautiful than the real thing. It can be seen that Dr. Yu Hua's painting skills are excellent. This requires profound knowledge, talent, and a high level of concentration. Otherwise, the spiritual essence cannot be depicted. These Chinese paintings and sculptures are truly the pinnacle of the world's art!" The exhibition showcases lotus flower and landscape paintings by famous Chinese artists, highlighting the vivid and lively brushwork, sophisticated ink colors, and lack of craftsmanship in Dr. Yu Hua's lotus flower paintings. The US Congress recorded that her lotus flower paintings are unmatched in Chinese art history, and her reputation is well-deserved.

According to people from the US Advanced Art Museum, the coral "King" and "White Jade Pearl" are each worth about 7 to 9 million US dollars. However, these two works have been donated to the non-profit organization Superb Art Museum of America, so they are not for sale.

Artistic Achievements Reaching New Heights, Congress Members and County Officials Present to Commend#

The exhibition was attended by members of Congress, including Diana Watson and Xavier Becerra, as well as California State Assembly members Mike Eng and Paul Fong, California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, five county mayors in Los Angeles, and officials from various county governments, totaling more than 20 people. Waves of visitors crowded the exhibition, creating an unprecedented scene. Dr. Yu Hua's National Treasure-level artwork exhibition in Los Angeles ended successfully.

The paintings "Mountain Spring Ancient Village" and "Lotus Fun" auctioned in the lucky draw were generously donated by the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha and Dr. Yu Hua, for the purpose of the foundation's annual member celebration lucky draw. The two donors did not take a single cent of the auction proceeds. The Yi Yun Gao Master International Cultural Foundation auctioned these two paintings as part of its voluntary activities to promote relief efforts in Haiti, without charging any fees or commissions or any expenses for organizing the exhibition. The proceeds of $50,100 and $35,100 from the auction were fully given to the winning members, Chen Zhongning and Lu Shuhui. These two individuals each donated $5,000, totaling $10,000 for Haiti relief. Up to now, this exhibition has raised a total of $26,000 for Haiti relief.
