Explanation of the Title "Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha"#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launching ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people came to know that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao and the Grand Dharma King Yang Yi Yeshe Norbu, who had always been revered by everyone, were recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha, the primordial Buddha. His Buddhist title is the Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to how before Shakyamuni Buddha became enlightened, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became enlightened, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially bestowed the title of His Holiness on the Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha (H.H. the Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legally recognized name, and the previous titles of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Grand Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the official announcement of the title Namo Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha, at a time when people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official recognition of the title Namo Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But it should be clear that except for the name of H.H. the Third Incarnation of Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official recognition no longer exist.
Master Yi Yun Gao Advocates Disaster Relief: 10 Taiwanese Buddhist Organizations Respond with Donations to Help Southern U.S. Storm Victims#
2005/09/22 19:50 Reported by our newspaperIn order to provide timely assistance to the people affected by Hurricane Katrina, under the advocacy of Master Yi Yun Gao, the honorary chairman of the United International World Buddhist Headquarters and a world-renowned artist, the United International World Buddhist Headquarters initiated the establishment of a joint relief committee at its Southern California branch. Initially, 39 organizations responded and joined the committee, including 10 Buddhist institutions from Taiwan, and more organizations are joining one after another.
Master Yi Yun Gao said, "Hurricane Katrina destroyed houses, flooded cities, and left hundreds of thousands of people homeless. Although the federal and state governments in the United States have made great efforts and exerted all their strength in rescue operations, the scope of the disaster and the number of affected people are still too large. We cannot rely solely on the government's efforts. We ourselves have an obligation to provide assistance. At this critical moment, the suffering of the disaster-stricken areas is our suffering. We must respond to the urgent needs of the victims and provide them with all possible help. We not only need to donate our own resources, but also mobilize all forces and call on all kind-hearted people to join us in relieving the suffering of the affected people and help them rebuild their homes as soon as possible." After speaking, Master Yi Yun Gao and his family donated 4.95 million original shares (worth 1.2 million US dollars) from their high-end art frame company to the joint relief committee.
Mrs. Wang Yuhua, the wife of Master Yi Yun Gao, also said, "The people in the disaster-stricken areas are in great need of assistance. We must do our best to donate to the affected areas."
Venerable Long Hui, the abbot of Huazang Temple in San Francisco, said to the public, "I would like to say a few words here because I know the entire family of Master Yi Yun Gao very well. As the executive director of the joint relief committee and the abbot of the temple, I must speak honestly about what is in my heart. In fact, the entire family of Master Yi Yun Gao is engaged in art. They make a living by selling their artistic creations. But they have been helping many people for many years, both inside and outside the temple. I personally know a lot about it. This has caused the family's financial situation to be very tight and stressful. However, for the people in the disaster-stricken areas, the entire family of Master Yi Yun Gao still willingly makes contributions."
After Master Yi Yun Gao's speech on how to help the disaster-stricken areas, organizations and individuals from around the world responded one after another. Currently, the first batch of organizations to join the committee includes 39 groups from around the world, and more are still joining.
