Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people only then learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects and the great living Buddhas of the world's Buddhism. He is the third generation incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, and his Buddha name is the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he changed his name to "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the government's legal name, and the previous "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Dafa Wang no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name. At that time, people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official naming no longer exist.
Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang Requests Nectar Relics and Will Retreat from the World#
(Taipei News) The elusive and mysterious Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu, the Supreme Dharma King of the Exoteric and Esoteric Teachings, appeared in Los Angeles, USA on the auspicious occasion of Buddha's birthday. On that day, in the presence of gathered high monks, he personally blessed the country's peace and the auspiciousness of all sentient beings, and once again performed the ritual to request the descent of nectar and more than two hundred relics, ranging from large to small, measuring two feet high. Afterwards, he led sixteen senior disciples to visit the Venerable Yi Yun Gao, the Master of Exoteric and Esoteric Teachings, and asked the Master to teach his disciples. However, the Master politely declined out of modesty. The Supreme Dharma King Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu stated to those seeking his certification as a Dharma King, Living Buddha, or Dharma Master from all over the world that he will retreat into seclusion in the deep mountains, not concerning himself with worldly affairs. Unless there is a special karmic connection with the Buddha Dharma, he will not appear before the world again, and those seeking certification should look for someone else.
This year is the Tibetan Year of the Iron Snake, and the Buddha's birthday according to the Tibetan calendar is the 8th day of the 4th lunar month, which corresponds to April 30th in the Gregorian calendar. The bowl used by Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang to request nectar is not the ceremonial bowl of the Dharma King lineage, but a common bronze bowl, which was opened and closed to perform the ritual. This shows the immense spiritual attainment of the Supreme Dharma King. After completing the nectar ritual, the bronze bowl used to request nectar was blessed and given to a monk present at the scene.
Venerable Yi Yun Gao was selected as the only authentic Exoteric and Esoteric Master of Buddhism in the world at the World Buddhist Congress. Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang and Venerable Yi Yun Gao both received teachings from the Venerable Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King. They both belong to the Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King sect. The full title of Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang is "Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Wu Jin Chi Ba", and the full title of Venerable Yi Yun Gao is "Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Yun Gao". It is only because of the difference in birth dates that when Venerable Yi Yun Gao followed the Venerable Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King to study, the Venerable Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King had already completed his studies and left the Venerable Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King to propagate the Dharma on his own. Later, people simply referred to the Venerable Yi Yun Gao Supreme Dharma King as Yang E Dafa Wang, and Venerable Yi Yun Gao became known as Venerable Yun Gao, also known as Venerable Yang E Dafa Wang.
According to a Rinpoche who had the opportunity to attend this meeting of the two great virtuous ones, being able to pay respects to two great Buddhist virtuous ones at the same time was the culmination of his lifelong karmic fortune. What's more, he was delighted to taste the nectar that Yang E Dafa Wang requested from the Buddha, and to hear the Dharma King speak of refraining from all evil and practicing all that is good, which is the profound essence of all Buddhist teachings. It is truly the blessing of countless eons. The delicious taste of the nectar is indescribable in human language, and the blessing power of the nectar cannot be expressed in words.
The Rinpoche described the situation at the time, saying that after the ceremony, the first thing Yang E Dafa Wang did was to lead sixteen disciples, including the great Rinpoche and the great Dharma Master, to visit the hotel where Venerable Yun Gao was staying. When the two great virtuous ones met, they greeted each other and humbly offered each other seats, showing great courtesy. Finally, they sat down together.
During the conversation, Yang E Dafa Wang highly praised Venerable Yun Gao for his profound understanding of the Tripitaka and his virtuous conduct, and said that his teachings fully represented the authentic Dharma of the Buddha. It is not just the recognition of a Dharma King, but also the encouragement of the World Buddhist Congress. Venerable Yun Gao humbly stated that this is the encouragement of the World Buddhist Congress to me.
Dafa Wang said: "I specifically performed the nectar ritual to prove its correctness during that debate between right and wrong. This is the verification of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, not just the evaluation of the congress. The humility of a Dharma King of his level has greatly benefited me."
Venerable Yun Gao said that Buddhism is as deep as the ocean, and he is just a beginner. He can only maintain an ordinary state of mind and feel ashamed of his body and mind. He is not worthy of mention. He does not have the ability to teach disciples for Dafa Wang. He can only study and examine himself. He admired Yang E Dafa Wang as the great sage representing the authentic Dharma of the Tathagata, the model of moral excellence. The sincere humility of the two great virtuous ones made the Buddhist disciples present admire them deeply.
