"Public Daily" October 15, 2005: Layman Wang Duchuan is willing to sacrifice his life rather than change his mind.

Explanation of the "Third Dijie Qiang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Dijie Qiang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dijie Qiang Buddha, with the Buddha name being the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha. Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha". In particular, on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Dijie Qiang Buddha), and since then, the title of Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous names "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Supreme Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha in the news. But everyone should understand that, except for the name of H.H. Third Dijie Qiang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official naming no longer exist.

Wang Duchuan, a Devoted Buddhist, Would Rather Give Up His Life Than Change His Mind#

Became a Disciple of Master Yun Gao, Passed Away Recently, 225 Solid Relics Found After Cremation#

[Reporter Chen Renzhong reports] On September 29th, the famous ancient temple Baoguang Temple in Xindu, Sichuan, China held a grand cremation ceremony for the disciple of Master Yun Gao, Mr. Wang Duchuan, and 225 solid relics were found after cremation.
Mr. Wang Duchuan and his wife are both university professors. After their retirement, they were able to study Buddhism under the guidance of Master Yun Gao, and they were devout and diligent. After Master Yun Gao left Chengdu, Professor Wang and his wife voluntarily requested to stay at the temple.
During this period, some kind-hearted people advised them to go home, and some people came to threaten and entice them, but they were not moved at all. Professor Wang said: No matter how others slander and defame, I only believe in the truth. Although I have only been with the master for a few years, the master I have seen is a kind, honest, and compassionate saint who cares about the well-being of the public. The master always puts the interests of the public first, willing to suffer hardships to ensure the peace and happiness of sentient beings. The master's teachings are profound and flawless, and all that he teaches us is how to practice virtue. Where is there any of the things they slander? I am a professor, a Buddhist, I do not lie, and I cannot betray my conscience. I will only be loyal to my teacher and never become a despicable person who deceives the teacher and destroys the ancestors! Therefore, over the years, no matter the storms, rumors, or threats, they never left the temple until their house was demolished by bulldozers due to urban development, and they tearfully bid farewell to the place.
A few months ago, Professor Wang showed signs of illness. Even in his illness, Professor Wang became even more diligent in studying the Buddhism taught by Master Yun Gao. On the afternoon of September 26th, Professor Wang passed away peacefully, without any pain, lying on his right side facing the Buddha image. On the morning of the 27th, the cremation took place at Baoguang Temple. When Abbot Jixin Fashi was preparing the shrine for Mr. Wang, the joints of Mr. Wang's hands and feet were still flexible. After verification by Abbot Jixin Fashi, he said: He has achieved attainment, and solid relics will definitely be produced during the cremation.
On the afternoon of the 29th, the chanting ceremony began at 4:30 pm. Just before that, a shower of sweet dew fell from the sky, which continued for a while after the fire was lit. During the entire cremation period, many sacred phenomena appeared. Some people saw a golden Buddha statue smiling, some saw a golden body Arhat in Mr. Wang's abdomen, wearing a monk's robe, some saw Buddha light, some saw the sun and moon shining together, and even people who did not study Buddhism saw mantras arranged in words... At that time, the people present suddenly heard the voice of Master Yun Gao chanting the Six-Syllable Great Bright Mantra from a distance, which merged with the sound of chanting Buddha. A total of 225 solid relics were collected.
