Dear respected members of the International Buddhist Sangha,
I am Gewei Juelang from Huazang Temple. Over the past year, I have been broadcasting on the Chinese and Cantonese radio stations in San Francisco, where I have edited and altered the teachings and content of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's Dharma talks and scriptures. I have done this under the guise of promoting the correct Dharma, but in reality, I have committed serious offenses by distorting the Buddha's scriptures and disrespecting the Dharma. The nature of these actions is extremely negative. Furthermore, due to the wide reach of the radio broadcasts, I am requesting that your website help me publish a public confession to clear the influence of this harmful behavior. I want to express my remorse to the public and to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions for the crimes I have committed, and I hope that this will serve as a warning to others. The teachings of the Buddha and the precepts of the Dharma must be respected and followed, and should not be changed or destroyed based on worldly views or personal opinions. Only by strictly adhering to the teachings can one truly learn the authentic Dharma, cultivate wisdom, and attain liberation.

Public Confession of Gewei Juelang, a disciple who has committed offenses

Namo all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, and all Dharma protectors
I, Juelang, the disciple, deeply repent for the extremely serious offense of distorting the Buddha's scriptures, disrespecting the Buddha, and violating the strict precepts and warnings of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche.
Originally, Juelang was an ordinary Bhikkhuni named Shi Huishan from Huazang Temple. I don't remember which year it was, but the temple gave me the honorary title of "Gewei Juelang Rinpoche." Over a year ago, due to certain circumstances, I had the opportunity to host a Cantonese radio program on two local Chinese radio stations in San Francisco (including Sing Tao Radio and KVTO). The purpose of this program was to spread the teachings of the Buddha, the highest leader of Buddhism, H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, and the true teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as the teachings of the Buddha's scriptures. I hoped that Buddhist practitioners, believers, and listeners could hear and learn the essence of the authentic Buddha Dharma, the supreme enlightenment, and the ultimate truth of the universe that is neither born nor destroyed. I also hoped that through the radio program, I could assist and help Cantonese-speaking listeners (San Francisco is a city with a large Chinese population, and more than 90% of the Chinese population are originally from Guangdong) in gradually overcoming their language barriers and having the karmic opportunity to listen to and study the authentic teachings of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, and to walk the path of true Buddhist practice and liberation. This was my intention in promoting the Dharma and benefiting sentient beings.
However, I ignored the consistent teachings and precepts of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, as well as the fundamental rules and principles of Buddhism. I only considered the Chinese proficiency of the radio listeners, their understanding and absorption of Buddhist teachings, the depth of the Dharma content, and time constraints. Therefore, I disregarded the prescribed precepts and made alterations to the teachings of the Buddha, thinking that I was "emphasizing the key points." I even expressed some of the Buddha's teachings and phrases in Cantonese, and further engaged in unauthorized editing and selective quoting. As a result, I have distorted and damaged the original and true meaning of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's teachings, committing unforgivable crimes of altering the Buddha's scriptures and disrespecting the Dharma. What is even more serious is that I have claimed in the broadcasts that I was presenting "the teachings and instructions of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche" and that it was "complete teachings." These were blatant lies and deception to the public and to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. This evil act is a great insult to the solemnity of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's authentic Dharma and a disgrace to the sacred Triple Gem of Buddhism. It is extremely irresponsible and harmful to all sentient beings. Due to my actions, the listeners were unable to hear the true teachings of the Buddha, but instead heard false and deceptive words that violated the scriptures. In reality, I have been destroying the Dharma and causing harm to sentient beings. Juelang must take full responsibility for the severe offenses and negative karma resulting from these serious violations of the precepts and laws.
Therefore, I, the disciple Juelang, once again deeply repent to H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, and to all Dharma protectors. I also deeply repent to the Sangha of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche's office, the Sangha of the International Buddhist Sangha, and the Sangha of Huazang Temple. I am grateful for all the teachings and help you have given me regarding my wrongdoings.
I, the disciple Juelang, deeply repent to all Buddhist practitioners, believers, and the vast audience of listeners and sentient beings who have listened to my Cantonese broadcasts through various channels, including the radio, the internet, and recordings. If any of you still have my past radio recordings, please destroy them immediately and do not keep them, in order to avoid future karmic consequences.
Due to the seriousness and wide-reaching impact of Juelang's crimes of distorting the scriptures and disrespecting the Dharma, I am making this public confession with utmost sincerity, in the hope of seeking forgiveness and eliminating the negative karma. At the same time, I hope that this serves as a profound lesson and warning to others. The strict rules and precepts of Buddhism are the armor that protects practitioners and should not be violated. They are sacred and dignified. Violating them will bring immeasurable harm and endless negative karma. Only by strictly adhering to them, feeling remorse, diligently progressing, and selflessly dedicating oneself can one truly embody the nature of a practitioner. I pray for the compassion and assistance of H.H. the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, and all Dharma protectors, so that I may eliminate the obstacles and negative karma, and continue to do my best in promoting the correct Dharma and benefiting sentient beings. May I and all sentient beings in the Dharma realm swiftly attain the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, and achieve the perfect enlightenment and liberation without obstacles.
