Existing Sir Martin from China, due to lack of correct knowledge and understanding, made false statements on WeChat, leading to misunderstandings among pedestrians. When he learned that the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche would expel all Buddhists who tell lies and deceive others without repentance, regardless of their social status, and advised them to practice self-cultivation, recite Buddha's name, and do good deeds, but no longer accept them for transmission of the Dharma. The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche said, "If the repentance is sincere and the person turns away from evil and returns to goodness, they will not be expelled." Now Martin himself has realized his serious mistake and has made a proactive repentance. Below is his full repentance:
Repentance Letter
I, Martin, sent a WeChat message on June 18th, saying that I was drinking wine in California. The true situation at that time was that I was staying at a senior brother's house and drinking wine with this older brother. Due to being drunk and foolish, with incorrect knowledge and understanding, and being misled by others, I falsely claimed to be with an elderly person on WeChat in order to elevate myself. This senior brother was my former teacher, and I am grateful to him for introducing me to the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche. Therefore, we have a relationship of both teacher and brother. However, after this WeChat message was published, it caused misunderstandings among many Buddhist disciples and had a very negative impact. Because I know very well that I am not qualified and have never had the opportunity to eat or travel with the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, especially drinking alcohol and violating precepts. I was indeed drunk and misled, otherwise, no matter how foolish I am, I would not dare to write about violating precepts and drinking alcohol.
The Third Dzogchen Rinpoche always solemnly teaches us: to be honest as a person, and to practice and learn Buddhism with selflessness and benefiting others. Today, I have been misled and fabricated false statements, and I feel that I have seriously violated the precepts. Therefore, I sincerely repent to the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Dharma protectors, and all Buddhist disciples, and I request forgiveness for my sins from the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. From now on, I will definitely be an honest Buddhist disciple, otherwise, how can I truly learn the Dharma and receive the empowerment of the practice? I hope that everyone who sees this repentance will take it as a warning and understand that to truly learn the higher levels of Buddhism, one must be judged by the Dharma protectors, and all falsehoods will not pass. From now on, I will listen more to the teachings of the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche, practice sincerely, and benefit sentient beings. Everything I have said above is true because I want to achieve liberation.
Repentant: Martin
