International Buddhist Monks and Nuns Association Announcement Announcement No. 20130101

Someone actually disrespectfully put the sacred and solemn old Dharma King's nectar Dharma on the internet. This kind of behavior, which disrespects and insults the Dharma, is a sinful act. Such people will not receive the blessings of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and will not be able to learn the superior Dharma, because they do not understand the preciousness of the Dharma at all. Even requesting a Dharma or a verse should be done after paying respects in the Buddhist temple, let alone the sacred and solemn nectar Dharma.

The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche spoke to individual monks and nuns of the International Buddhist Sangha Association a few years ago, saying, "You constantly distribute nectar belts and lightly promote them as a panacea for liberating sentient beings. This is incorrect. If sentient beings want to increase their blessings and wisdom and attain enlightenment, relying on nectar alone is not enough. In order for sentient beings to truly attain liberation, they must thoroughly understand and put into practice 'What is Practice.' Furthermore, when 'The Great Liberation Seal' is released in the future, there are two essential points. Only those who put them into practice with body, speech, and mind will truly attain liberation. Of course, I am not saying that nectar is not a treasure."

The International Buddhist Sangha Association sees such disrespect towards the Dharma and the act of placing such a sacred and solemn treasure on the internet as a great insult to the Dharma. It should be known that nectar is a treasure among countless eons of difficulties and is not something that can be attained by so-called virtuous individuals. It can only be practiced by true great beings (Buddhas or Bodhisattvas). It is extremely precious and rare, something that is difficult to attain even after countless eons. But you disrespect the Dharma, leading practitioners to misunderstand the path of practice. We are truly saddened by this. It will lead practitioners astray, constantly seeking nectar everywhere but unable to find it, wasting their time in practice, and seriously deviating from the teachings of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche and Shakyamuni Buddha, causing them to abandon their practice. Buddhist disciples should rely on the teachings of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche in "What is Practice," "The Great Liberation Seal," and the two essential points of "Extraordinary Essence of the Ocean of Leisure and Perfection" and "Extraordinary Essence of the Ocean of Bodhi's Empty Actions," as well as "The True Meaning of the Heart Sutra" to practice and study the Dharma. This is what we should do.

This announcement is hereby made by the International Buddhist Sangha Association on April 14, 2013.
