On November 10, 2012, the United International World Buddhist Headquarters held the "World Peace Dharma Assembly" in Hong Kong to pray for world peace and disaster relief. The International Buddhist Sangha Association hosted the event, during which a grand ceremony for Guanyin Bodhisattva was held, and copies of the "Gospel of Supreme Treasures" were distributed. Some sacred objects were also displayed, and the World Wiser Movement Committee taught everyone how to play the Wiser Ball, bringing benefits to the public. The conference was a complete success, which is a blessing for all sentient beings. We should be grateful for the great compassion and blessings of the Buddha!
However, due to the lack of deep understanding of the Buddhist teachings by some Buddhist disciples and their selfish intentions, they misunderstood some things and provided incorrect explanations to the reporters. As a result, many believers who read the news reports did not have a clear and accurate concept of the sacred objects and virtues of Buddhism. The order was confused, causing confusion. Therefore, the International Buddhist Sangha Association has issued a serious explanation to clarify this matter for the public.
It should be known that there are many different levels of sacred virtues in Buddhism, so there are corresponding sacred objects with different levels of power. For example, the sacred virtue of holding the sun and moon wheel by Muzhi Rinpoche and Kaichu Rinpoche is higher than the sacred virtue of the Sumeru wheel (see the chart in the announcement of the United International World Buddhist Headquarters). However, the sacred objects of these masters were placed behind others, except for the legitimate placement of the Buddha's relics at the front. This is an unethical behavior of disrespecting the Dharma. Even for the sacred virtues of the masters, the number of sun and moon wheels represents the level of achievement and the degree of realization. The number of Sumeru wheels also indicates the different levels of the sacred virtues.
For example, a three-star Sumeru wheel sacred virtue is higher than a two-star Sumeru wheel sacred virtue, but lower than a one-star sun and moon wheel master's sacred virtue, because the Sumeru wheel is only within the range of sacred virtues and has not entered the range of master's sacred virtues. For example, the chairperson of our association, Master Longhui, is a two-star Sumeru wheel sacred virtue. Yes, she has indeed passed the exam and passed the annual review this year. She is a rare great master, with a higher level of realization than secular living Buddhas, Dharma kings, and high monks (see the chart in the announcement of the United International World Buddhist Headquarters). However, she has not yet attained the three-star Sumeru wheel sacred virtue, and the blessings of the Buddha's nectar and relics can only be obtained by those with the five-star sun and moon wheel sacred virtue of the Buddha and the extraordinary Bodhisattvas. Even the one-star sun and moon wheel master's sacred virtue and the two-star sun and moon wheel middle-level master's sacred virtue cannot be obtained. Not to mention the three-star sun and moon wheel great sacred virtue, which is even higher than Muzhi Rinpoche. It is still far from being able to request the Buddha's nectar. How can a disciple who holds a two-star Sumeru wheel sacred virtue be able to request it? Such disciples who introduce their own masters to the reporters are really devaluing the supreme and priceless Dharma. They claim that Master Longhui and a group of nuns can bring down the nectar and relics by reciting scriptures and mantras. Let's speak frankly, even for masters like Lianhuasheng, Zongkaba, and Wumei, it is not easy to request the Buddha's nectar, and maybe they can't request it at all. It must be Guanyin Bodhisattva, Green Tara, or Manjushri Bodhisattva who personally take action. These people who introduce themselves to the reporters are too exaggerated and have not considered that they are speaking recklessly just to praise their own masters. They do not understand the inside story and even think that Longhui has committed the grave sin of false speech, has not attained the realization of speech, and has not obtained the realization of speech! Fortunately, Master Longhui clearly explained that she is a person who washes the alms bowl and did not claim anything, which is a manifestation of sacred virtue. However, some people have spread false information and confused the ranking of the Dharma, causing confusion among sentient beings. If we talk about requesting the Buddha's nectar and relics, it is something that the Sumeru wheel sacred virtue does not touch at all!!!
However, now that the newspapers have published articles, it has caused a great misunderstanding, and the Dharma has become confused. Therefore, facing the destruction of the wisdom and lives of sentient beings, and the confusion of the order of sacred virtues, with more than 10,000 Buddhist institutions mistakenly believing in this chaos, it is necessary to stop it. If it continues to spread, the consequences will be unimaginable. Therefore, we must take immediate action to prevent the public from becoming confused and falling into degradation. We need to truly understand the concepts of master's sacred virtues, sacred virtues, great virtues, as well as the levels of Dharma kings, Rinpoche, and masters.
