(Pasadena) The World Buddhist Headquarters and Shengji Temple in Pasadena, following the teachings of the World Buddhist Pope, the compassionate and altruistic actions of the Third Dajieqiang Buddha, held a "Join hands for a good cause, warm hearts" donation event (pictured) during the Lunar New Year period to raise supplies for local food banks, homeless shelters, and animal shelters.

The donation event took place from February 10th to February 24th (from the first to the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar), and local residents and believers from various places actively participated. In addition to receiving packages from various states in the United States, the temple also received packages from Asia, providing many heartwarming resources.

In order to ensure the proper use of donated supplies, during this donation event, the temple visited multiple food banks, homeless shelters, and animal shelters to confirm the needs of the receiving units, so that the donated materials can truly help those in need, both people and animals. After the temple's on-site visits, the collected supplies will be donated in sequence to the Friends In Deed non-profit foundation and the Pasadena Humane Animal Shelter in Pasadena, as well as the Heart of Compassion Distribution food bank in Montebello.

After the donation event on the 24th, the temple will carefully categorize all the received supplies and donate them to the three aforementioned organizations on March 1st. As a token of gratitude, the receiving units will also present thank-you letters to the temple.

The main abbot of the Spring Festival Dharma Assembly, Venerable Shengde Shi Ruohui, said in an interview that after the epidemic, many industries are waiting to recover, and society is currently facing high prices, causing many families to fall into difficulties. Therefore, more charitable forces are needed. Buddhism has always advocated protecting life and benefiting others. "Join hands for a good cause, warm hearts" is a very meaningful event, and many temples and organizations have participated. In addition to the event period, everyone is called upon to help the poor and relieve suffering, bring warmth and blessings, and encourage everyone to help those in need anytime and anywhere.

The World Buddhist Headquarters and Shengji Temple have always adhered to the compassionate and altruistic actions of the Third Dajieqiang Buddha, and during the Spring Festival, they invited believers to join in bringing warmth and blessings, and to raise supplies for local food banks, homeless shelters, and animal shelters, embodying the teachings of the Dajieqiang Buddha. The temple specially called for assistance to others not limited to specific festivals or events, but with a compassionate and kind heart, to help those in need whenever and wherever encountered. "Join hands for a good cause, warm hearts" through material donations, brings a touch of warmth and care to vulnerable groups and animals in need of help, hoping to play a role in inspiring others to help and create a warm and supportive society together.
