Holy Miracles Temple Celebrates the Birth Anniversary of Amitabha Buddha#
(Los Angeles, Reporter Yang Tuo) The Holy Miracles Temple in Southern California held a grand ceremony on Sunday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Amitabha Buddha. Co-organized by the World Buddhist Headquarters, the Holy Miracles Temple, and the Holy Grace Hall, hundreds of believers from various regions of California and overseas attended the event.
The ceremony began at 10 a.m., with the Vice Chairman of the World Buddhist Headquarters, Reverend Jin Kou Er Duan Sheng De Zheng Da, leading the chanting of the "Sutra of Amitabha Buddha" with the guidance of monks including the Abbot Jin Kou Yi Duan Sheng De Ruo Hui Yu. The assembly made offerings before the Buddha, recited scriptures, praised the virtues of the Buddhas, prayed for the auspiciousness of Buddha's birth, and sought blessings from Amitabha Buddha and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions to increase the blessings and wisdom of all sentient beings, promote health and longevity, national prosperity, and world peace.
In addition to hosting ceremonies for the birthdays of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Holy Miracles Temple is also open to the public on regular days. Many residents and groups in the community like to visit the temple to worship and learn Buddhist teachings. For example, students from Mayfield Senior School near the Holy Miracles Temple visit the temple to learn about Buddhist culture. The care and influence of the Holy Miracles Temple on the local community transcends age, ethnicity, culture, and the barriers between Eastern and Western beliefs, becoming a force for stabilizing the hearts of the community.
