(Journalist Cheng Guo'er / Los Angeles report) On June 30 and July 1, the World Buddhist Headquarters, Shengji Temple, Huazang Temple, Charity Temple, and Shengge Lecture Hall jointly hosted two grand Buddhist Dharma assemblies at the Glendale City Hall in Los Angeles County. The two-day Dharma assembly was attended by more than a thousand venerables, masters, Rinpoche, Ajari, Dharma teachers, and lay practitioners from around the world.
At the solemn "Homage to the Complete Collection of the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche's Buddhist Canon" Dharma assembly on June 30, the World Buddhist Headquarters announced the joyful news of the publication of the first set "Teaching on the Journey East," the second set "Teaching on the Journey Meeting the Needs of Buddhist Disciples on the Way," and the third set "Teaching the True Meaning Through the Mind" of the Buddhist Canon by the World Buddhist Pope, the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. The remaining scriptures will be published at a rate of about five sets per year.
On July 1, Buddhist disciples from around the world participated in the grand celebration of the birth of the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. Buddhist institutions from around the world also held birthday celebrations in their respective regions, conducting activities such as releasing animals, protecting life, and assisting the poor to celebrate the birth of the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.
During the Dharma assembly, the presiding masters ascended the Dharma platform led by the monastic sangha, and the congregation respectfully recited the "Incense Praise." Subsequently, the "One Hundred and Eight Offerings" personnel composed of representatives from Buddhist temples, centers, and institutions worldwide offered various treasures and offerings to the Buddha, reciting "The Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche's Explanatory Sutra" and "Great Offering Before the Buddha" with reverence, offering, recitation, chanting, and recitation of mantras to accumulate merits, praying for the eternal presence of the Buddha to save all sentient beings.
The World Buddhist Pope, the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, is the only Buddha legally established since the Nirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha. The Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche has left the most complete and top-notch evidence of "manifestation of the profound, subtle, and clear understanding of the five wisdoms." In the dissemination and salvation of sentient beings over many years, the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche has spoken in plain language more than two thousand times and has written many Buddhist scriptures, revealing the true essence of the universe and human life, elucidating the correct principles of Buddhism at various stages.
After the successful completion of the Dharma assembly, the eminent monks from the World Buddhist Headquarters sprinkled blessed water on the participants, praying together for the auspiciousness of the birth of the Third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and for his eternal life and prosperity.
