Explanation of the "Third Dijieqiang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Dijieqiang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and it was then that people learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang Eyi Xinuo Bu Dafawang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dijieqiang Buddha, with the Buddha name being the Third Dijieqiang Buddha. Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo the Third Dijieqiang Buddha". This is similar to before Gautama Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Gautama Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Gautama Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo the Third Dijieqiang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Dijieqiang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. the Third Dijieqiang Buddha), and since then, the title of Namo the Third Dijieqiang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Dijieqiang Buddha is also the government's legal name, and the previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the titles of Master and Supreme Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the official announcement of the Buddha name of the Third Dijieqiang Buddha, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha, so in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Dijieqiang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. the Third Dijieqiang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official naming no longer exist.
Is it a coincidence or wisdom that the Buddha's light bathed the Huazang Temple in San Francisco? 2005/02/02 00:25#
By Zhuo Ga
After the Buddhist light bathed the Huazang Temple in San Francisco on December 25, 2004, many people were filled with joy and admiration. But at the same time, the reporter also heard another voice, some people said it was an illusion, or a coincidence. For this reason, the reporter interviewed a high monk who had attained realization.
The high monk replied to the reporter: "Oh sentient beings, it is truly pitiful! It is precisely because of this that some people fall into the pitiful state of foolishness and stupidity, and the seeds of reincarnation are named sentient beings. It can be said that the appearance of the Buddha's light at the invitation is a coincidence. In Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, Thailand, and the United States, the Supreme Dharma King said to invite the Buddha's light to appear, and the Buddha's light appeared every time. Is it a coincidence every time? Well, let's just say it's a coincidence. The venerable Losang Jampel, who is over 80 years old, said in the preface to his translation of Tsongkhapa's "A Brief Exposition of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment" that the Supreme Dharma King invited the Dharma Protector Bodhisattva to appear, and he personally saw the Dharma Protector Bodhisattva and even asked the Dharma Protector Bodhisattva questions face to face. At that time, the Supreme Dharma King said that the Buddha's light appeared in the sky, and Geshe Losang Jampel saw the Buddha's light for half an hour. Geshe Losang Jampel, who has been studying Buddhism for over 70 years, would deceive sentient beings with false words? Before the "Bathing the Buddha Festival," the Supreme Dharma King predicted that there would be strong winds and thunder at the beginning of the festival. Sure enough, as soon as the festival started, strong winds and thunderstorms suddenly came in the clear sky. Is this also a "coincidence"? During the festival, the Vajra Wheel walked on the water and the camera captured the Dharma Protector standing on the Vajra Wheel, constantly changing. How can this be a "coincidence"? The bathwater in the Buddha bathing pool weighs over 4,200 pounds and cannot be moved by a dozen people, but two venerable monks were able to lift it, and even a holy monk was able to lift it alone. Where in the world can an ordinary person "coincidentally" produce such power? A withered plum branch that has been exposed to the sun for several months, dried and brittle, broke at a touch, but it bloomed beautifully when the Supreme Dharma King preached the Dharma. How did this "coincidence" happen? In 1996, there was a lay disciple named Xue who accompanied his parents and wife to take refuge in the presence of the Supreme Dharma King. A turtle suddenly appeared among the four of them and took refuge together, lining up with the lay disciple's family, bowing and paying respects. Can anyone "coincidentally" produce such a miracle? When giving a lecture in the Buddhist city of Thailand, a divine dragon transformed into a dragon fish and stood upright in the water to worship the Supreme Dharma King. Do you know of any fish that can stand upright on the water's surface using its tail? Do fish have such a function? There are countless animals bowing and making offerings, including the Nine-Tailed Fox. Did they all "coincidentally" appear? Why don't they "coincidentally" appear in front of you and me, but always "coincidentally" appear before the Supreme Dharma King? The Supreme Dharma King performed the Buddhist ritual of descending nectar. The disciples washed the alms bowl themselves, while the Supreme Dharma King performed the ritual from a distance of one zhang (about 3.3 meters), and the Buddha's nectar descended into the alms bowl out of thin air. The disciples watched as the empty bowl miraculously filled with nectar. How did this extraordinary item "coincidentally" appear? Not to mention those who achieved liberation from life and death while sitting in the lotus position, how did they "coincidentally" attain liberation from life and death? A few months before the passing of Hou Yushan, a professor in the United States, the Supreme Dharma King publicly made a prophecy about the time of her passing. When she passed away, her husband Lin Yongmao urgently telegraphed the Supreme Dharma King from thousands of miles away, saying that she had already passed away at five o'clock. The Supreme Dharma King decisively told Lin that what he said was wrong, that the time when the Buddha and Bodhisattvas would receive her had not yet arrived, and that she had not yet passed away. The next morning at seven o'clock, the Supreme Dharma King asked Master Longhui to lead the monks to fly from Los Angeles to bid farewell, saying, "She has not yet passed away, but when you arrive, she will have already passed away." Sure enough, at eight o'clock, Liu Huixiu opened her eyes again and did not ascend to the Buddha's Pure Land until the predicted time by the Supreme Dharma King. Zhao Xianyun, a lay disciple from China, was informed by the Supreme Dharma King of the time of her passing. She returned to her hometown to bid farewell to her family with joy. When the time predicted by the Supreme Dharma King arrived, she suddenly sat in the lotus position and passed away, her face glowing red. Her daughter and neighbor saw Guanyin Bodhisattva appear in empty space to take her away. For such important matters of life and death, making such accurate predictions and determinations, is it a "coincidence" encountered? How did he "coincidentally" communicate with the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, and know the time when the Buddha and Bodhisattvas would come to guide her? Hou Yushan, a professor in the United States, went on a trip to the Pure Land after receiving the transmission of the Supreme Dharma King's Dharma. Amitabha Buddha told him to come and receive him a week later, and also told him that the best Dharma was with the Supreme Dharma King. Sure enough, a week later, Professor Hou went to the Pure Land on time, and at that time, his family saw Amitabha Buddha appear in empty space. Is this a "coincidence"? Lay disciple Yu Lincaichun died of illness, her pupils dilated, her body stiffened and cooled, her family begged the Supreme Dharma King to save her, and the Supreme Dharma King performed the ritual. Two hours later, Yu Lincaichun returned to the human realm and reunited with her family. After three months, she went to the Pure Land of the West according to the Dharma transmitted by the Supreme Dharma King. How can anyone "coincidentally" come back to life? Just one visit is enough. And those high monks and venerable ones under the Supreme Dharma King's throne, they can be born or leave as they wish, leaving behind a large number of indestructible relics or incorruptible bodies. Many people have seen them in newspapers and magazines. Where did their "coincidental" great achievements come from? There are too many, too many. One or two incidents can be called coincidences, but if thousands of such miracles occur, and there are still people insisting that they are coincidences, I have only one thing to say. I am a monastic who cultivates the path and I do not want to speak ill or tell lies, but I must tell the truth: those who say such things are pitiful and foolish beings burdened with negative karma. Although they are human beings and possess the goodness and basic morality of human nature, unfortunately, their thinking is truly foolish to the point of animalistic thinking. It is truly pitiful!"
The high monk said: "Let me give you another example, which may not be very appropriate, but perhaps it can help everyone think more clearly about some issues. A long time ago, a beggar was washing a sand pot by the river. The sand pot was like a cloth bag in his hand, which he turned inside out and outside in as he washed it. Someone saw this and was very surprised, finding it incomprehensible no matter how much they thought about it. They left with a head full of lawsuits. Another person saw this and was very curious, thinking that this turning of the sand pot was a great skill, and if he learned it, he could show off in front of people or make money from it. So he said to the beggar, 'Master, please take me as your apprentice. Your skill of turning the sand pot is amazing!' The beggar completely ignored him. This person struggled for a long time without any result and left. Then a young man came and silently watched for a long time. When the beggar returned to the shore, he knelt down and said, 'Master, please take me as your apprentice!' The beggar asked, 'Why? Do you also want to learn how to turn the sand pot?' The young man said, 'Master, I did not see the turning of the sand pot.' The beggar said, 'I am a beggar, besides turning the sand pot, all I can do is beg for food. I can't teach you anything. What else can you learn from me?' The young man firmly said, 'I want to learn how to become an immortal from you.' The young man's aspiration to learn the path was sincere, and after many tests, he finally received the true transmission from the master and achieved enlightenment and ascended to immortality. This young man later became one of the Eight Immortals, Lu Dongbin, and the beggar was transformed into Tieguai Li. Lu Dongbin at that time could see the essence through appearances. What about us?"
The reporter asked the high monk for his thoughts on the term "illusion". The high monk said, "Thousands of years ago, Shakyamuni Buddha taught sentient beings: all conditioned phenomena are illusory, sentient beings are like illusions, all phenomena are impermanent and arise from causes and conditions, and their nature is empty. Only the true nature of the Dharma is neither born nor destroyed. Without illusion, what use is there for the Dharma? Enjoy all kinds of magical transformations and realms. However, apart from the complete mastery of the illusions, all others are also illusions. In the Buddha's teachings, the transformation of illusions into truth is called wonderful existence. Sentient beings mistake illusions for truth, cling to them and become obsessed, and suffer in the cycle of reincarnation without realizing it. They fundamentally do not understand the meaning of 'illusion' and 'truth'. Now the Supreme Dharma King, out of great compassion, demonstrates great magical powers to teach and transform sentient beings with affinity. Therefore, the great Buddhist holy site of the Buddha's light bathing the Huazang Temple appeared, and therefore the "Vine Law Tent" appeared under the Supreme Dharma King's palm, with the vines withering and drying up under the Supreme Dharma King's touch, creating such astonishing miracles. I would like to ask, who else in this world can display such great Buddhist magical powers? And when the President of the World Buddhist Sangha Association, Venerable Wuming, and the Dharma heir of Yizhao, Venerable Yizhao, and Losang Jampel and other high monks bowed to the Supreme Dharma King to request blessings, the Supreme Dharma King instructed them to go to the entrance of a beehive, and the Supreme Dharma King asserted that the Dharma Protector would protect them and the bees would not harm them. Millions of bees flew back and forth in front of them, and all ten or so people were safe. Who would dare to play with their lives? There has never been such a "coincidence" and illusion in the world, only the great Dharma. "
The high monk continued: "The miracle of the "Vine Law Tent" mentioned earlier occurred in January 2005. After the establishment of the Huazang Temple, Rinpoche and the monks skillfully carved the vines and created a canopy, and they went to invite the Supreme Dharma King to consecrate it. Kuru Rinpoche said, "This lotus canopy is the indestructible treasure that eliminates all sentient beings' negative karma." The Supreme Dharma King smiled and said, "All conditioned phenomena are illusory, and sentient beings are impermanent. Everything is impermanent by nature." A monk said, "It looks very extraordinary now, there is no impermanence in this canopy." The Supreme Dharma King said, "Every moment is impermanent in birth, aging, sickness, and death. You cannot see it with ordinary eyes. In a few hundred years, when you look again, this vine will have withered and dried up. In fact, there is no past or future in time and space. Today, the conditions are ripe, so you can see it now." At this point, the Supreme Dharma King pressed his palm on the top of the canopy and tapped it half a turn, and a creaking sound was heard. In a few minutes, the vine shriveled and withered as people watched, and in a short time, it became an ancient relic of thousands of years, completely dried up and withered. When the Supreme Dharma King lifted his hand, everyone saw that apart from the palm print left by the palm pressing the vine flat, there was no shrinkage, and the color remained unchanged, without wrinkles or signs of withering. No impermanence was seen. Everyone was shocked! The director of the exhibition department of a senior art museum present hurriedly asked the Supreme Dharma King, "Can we ask the Supreme Dharma King to bless the picture frames of the vines in our art museum to achieve the effect of impermanence?" The Supreme Dharma King said, "You have encountered the conditions today, so may your wishes be fulfilled!" The Supreme Dharma King continued to explain, "These are not real, they are illusory appearances. Therefore, the Buddha said in his teachings for 49 years that all are illusory appearances that become real, and there is no real Dharma to speak of. If one can seek the 'Liberation Mudra,' and realize the true nature of the Dharma, just as this mudra is used as a metaphor, then there is no impermanence, no birth, and no death. The Buddha speaks of all phenomena, and when the sage realizes it, it is true, but when ordinary beings are deluded, it is false. But who can transform falsehood into truth? Where is the method to realize it? Therefore, only our Buddha's true Dharma can transform illusions into truth. Only by deeply understanding the essence of the "Essence of Clear Mind and Seeing True Nature" taught by Great Master Wuming, can one receive this empowerment and possess the indestructible treasure. The phenomenon of the canopy is purely a metaphorical use for recording, a game of transformation, and should not be taken as the ultimate truth, but just an artistic smile." The Supreme Dharma King's teachings have profound meanings and are thought-provoking. Just as the high monk mentioned, although the apparent realm is illusory, who can manifest this impermanent illusion? If one cannot manifest illusions and cannot transform illusions into truth, where is their realization reflected? Where is their Buddha Dharma? If you truly believe that you are not foolish but wise, then go find someone to invite the Buddha to bring down non-worldly objects like nectar for you out of thin air, and then you will understand whether you are pitiful and foolish or wise.
Now this miraculous treasure, the Vine Law Tent, has been invited by the monks to San Francisco and enshrined in the Huazang Temple.
