Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people only then learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang, has been recognized by the leaders or regents of major Buddhist sects and the living Buddhas of the world's major Buddhist sects. He is the third generation incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, and his Buddha name is the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have referred to him as "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now say "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". In particular, on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the titles of Master and Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name. At that time, people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official designation of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official designation no longer exist.

San Francisco News

Huazang Temple, located in downtown San Francisco, was blessed by the Buddha's aspiration and specially selected the birthday of Amitabha Buddha to hold the opening ceremony of Huazang Temple. Devotees from all over the world rushed to San Francisco to attend the grand opening ceremony. The process of the Dharma assembly was solemn and extraordinary. Venerable Juehui, the representative of the World Buddhist Association, said in his speech that the opening of Huazang Temple is good news for the Western world and a great event to increase blessings for the whole world. Tashilhunpo Monastery, the ancestral temple of Tsongkhapa, Chubu Monastery, the temple of the Karmapa, and the American Tantric Association all sent congratulatory messages to Huazang Temple.

Venerable Juehui said in his speech that Huazang Temple strictly follows the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, adheres to the scriptures, rules, and treatises of the Tripitaka and the esoteric teachings, and does not hold sectarian views. The Buddha statues in Huazang Temple are recognized as the most magnificent in the world. The three treasures of Huazang Temple are also extremely rare. Compared with temples in the United States, the Western world, China, or Asian countries, Huazang Temple is a very authentic Buddhist temple, fully embodying the profound and vast Buddha Dharma.

At the beginning of the Dharma assembly, one of the five female living Buddhas from Tibet, Achok Nammo Rinpoche, the head lama of Huazang Temple, performed Tibetan rituals, played bells and drums, and recited praises to Shakyamuni Buddha and Amitabha Buddha. She also offered a mandala to the assembly. Then, Venerable Longhui, the abbot of Huazang Temple, led the assembly in reciting the Amitabha Sutra in Mandarin Chinese. One of the Tantric living Buddhas, Hengsheng Rinpoche, performed the Vajra Yoga Perfect Practice. Zaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche, an assistant lama of Huazang Temple, chanted the Green Tara Perfect Practice in English. The Dharma assembly lasted for several days from the 26th of the month until the end of the year, and continued until March of the following year to complete all the rituals. The Rinpoche and monks recited the rituals in Chinese, Tibetan, and English, including the Pure Land Amitabha Recitation Method, Zen meditation, sudden enlightenment, mirror-like wisdom, the essence of Huayan visualization practice, Yogas of the Four Divisions of Tantra, the essence of Mahayana Vajra Mind, the practice of Theravada Anapanasati, and many more. These rituals were taught by high monks and masters according to the individual circumstances of sentient beings. Because of the authentic Buddha Dharma of Huazang Temple, the ancestral temple of Tsongkhapa, Tashilhunpo Monastery, the ancestral temple of the Karmapa, Chubu Monastery, the American Tantric Association, temples and Buddhist organizations from all over the world sent congratulatory messages.
