Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people then learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang, who had been respected by everyone, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects and the Great Living Buddha as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have called him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he changed his name to "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government. The previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Dafa Wang no longer exist. However, this news was published before the announcement of the Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha's Buddha name, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official naming no longer exist.

A few days ago, a disciple of Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang achieved great success and obtained 263 solid relics. Now, another great disciple of Dafa Wang, Lu Quanfang, passed away on September 9th and was reborn in the Pure Land of the Western Paradise guided by Amitabha Buddha! Amitabha Buddha praised the supreme Dharma of Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang, opened the door to the Buddha's country for 29 hours, and allowed everyone to see the scenery of the Buddha's country. The image of Dafa Wang emitted a halo of light for 3 hours, blessing sentient beings.
Lu Quanfang, a layperson from Chengdu, Sichuan, and her husband, layperson Wang Guangming, took refuge in Buddhism as early as the 1950s and received the empowerment and transmission of Dafa Wang. At that time, they were working in Tibet and had the opportunity to receive guidance from a Tibetan Vajrayana master, who told them that the best and highest Dharma was with Yang E Yi Xi Nuobu Dafa Wang. The couple went through hardships to send their son to the young Dafa Wang, who was under 7 years old at the time. The family of three became disciples and the couple left their son with Dafa Wang to receive teachings and guidance. They were very devout and respectful to Dafa Wang and diligently practiced the Dharma transmitted by Dafa Wang. In the past two years, rumors and slanders about Dafa Wang spread in society. The couple was indignant and condemned the evil deeds of spreading rumors and confusing the public. In November of last year, layperson Wang Guangming, due to his devout heart and following the example of Dafa Wang, passed away and was reborn in the Pure Land of the Western Paradise, leaving behind 11 solid relics. In mid-August 2004, Lu Quanfang informed her son Wang Min that she would be going west. Wang Min called Dafa Wang several times, hoping to keep his loving mother. After learning about it, Lu Quanfang admonished her son, "If you want to learn Buddhism, you must understand cause and effect. My worldly connections have come to an end, and my Dharma connections are fulfilled. The venerable Dafa Wang will send me to the Pure Land of the Western Paradise." Sure enough, at noon on September 9th, Lu Quanfang suddenly opened her crown chakra, and her skull became soft. At this moment, a colorful auspicious light appeared in the room, and Amitabha Buddha came to guide her. The golden bowl of Amitabha Buddha slowly descended under the shining of a huge and incomparable white Buddha light. The red lotus in the bowl was bright and dripping. Everyone took two photos of this extremely rare holy scene. In the sound of celestial music, Lu Quanfang, in the posture of a reclining Buddha, passed away to the Pure Land of the Western Paradise in the Buddha light.
The next day, the body was enshrined in the Buddha hall of Baoguang Temple in Xindu, one of the four major Zen temples in China. Just after the enshrinement, the image of Dafa Wang emitted a halo of light, surrounded by colorful Buddha light and a fragrant smell. The news spread, and more and more people came to observe and pay their respects, and the chanting of sacred mantras continued day and night. On the evening of September 10th, Dafa Wang's disciples from Tibet and the lamas traveled a long distance to assist in the rituals. On the evening of the 11th, the sound of Dafa Wang chanting the Buddha's name from the chanting instruments in the United States was heard, and the monks and laypeople were deeply moved.
At noon on the 12th, an unprecedented holy scene appeared! The window to the Western Paradise suddenly opened in front of the Amitabha Buddha painting hanging in the Buddha hall, directly showing the image of the Western Paradise! The crowd was boiling, and people were pleasantly surprised and unable to contain their excitement. Through the window to the Western Paradise on the Amitabha Buddha painting, everyone who had a connection could see Amitabha Buddha. Even the bun on top of the Buddha's head was clearly visible. Guanyin Bodhisattva dressed in white and holding a willow branch, as well as Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, were also seen. Lu Quanfang chanted the Buddha's name in the window, her mouth and eyes were moving, and her head was shaking, just like when she chanted the Buddha's name during her lifetime. The former abbot of Zhaojue Temple, Master Qingding, also appeared, sitting in a chair with a smiling nod. When the image of Dafa Wang, wearing a red robe and a crown, appeared in the window, the crowd burst into excited shouts: "Master, I see you!" "Master Dafa Wang, following you, we are not afraid of life and death!" "Dafa Wang! Our whole family wants to take refuge in you! We want to learn true Buddhism from you!" People were overwhelmed by the holy scene, unable to control their emotions, and all that could be heard were exclamations, shouts, and the sound of heads touching the ground... In the evening at eight or nine o'clock, more and more people gathered at the cremation site. People came from all directions to see the holy scene of the Western Paradise and receive the blessings of Amitabha Buddha. Many people rushed back home to bring their parents and children. Everyone saw the holy scene of the Buddha's country, and they didn't even have time to eat dinner. They sat down in rows and devoutly chanted the sacred name of Namo Amitabha Buddha until late at night. The holy scene of the Western Paradise continued to change and appear until 5 p.m. the next day, lasting for 29 hours, becoming a miracle in the history of Buddhism.
On the morning of September 13th, the sky was filled with colorful Buddha light. At around 1 p.m., the image of Dafa Wang suddenly emitted a white halo, continuously shining and blessing sentient beings for 3 hours. People were immersed in the blessings of Dafa Wang's Dharma, filled with surprise and joy, bowing and paying their respects. The scene was extremely moving! At 5 p.m., the disciples chanting the Buddha's name formed a long queue to place Lu Quanfang's remains into the cremation furnace. A fragrance filled the air wherever the remains passed. The chanting and rituals of the monks and lamas had not yet begun, but the wooden niche in front of Lu Quanfang's chest was already enveloped in Buddha light. Through the gap in the niche, three colors of light could be seen: red, white, and yellow! As soon as the fire was lit, a transparent circular Dharma instrument appeared above Lu Quanfang's head! The instrument had a square hole in the middle and edges connecting to the instrument at the four corners, just like the circular light that appeared above the head of the disciple Hengxing Jiacao Rinpoche when he bowed and worshipped the Dafa Wang's image before traveling 1,100 kilometers to Taiwan, representing taking on the suffering of sentient beings. During the cremation process, the holy scene continued to appear, with lotus flowers blooming, the image of Dafa Wang, the Three Saints of the Western Paradise, and Maitreya Bodhisattva appearing, as well as the Vajra Protectors and Dragon Protectors standing on both sides. The fire phoenix flew in the flames, and the beautiful scenery of the Western Paradise's towers and pavilions appeared one after another. People bowed in joy in front of the cremation furnace, and tears of excitement and laughter filled the temple.
After the cremation, a total of 49 solid relics were obtained from Lu Quanfang's ashes.
Recording up to this point, the author cannot help but ask why? Why do the disciples under the seat of Dafa Wang achieve great accomplishments one after another and free themselves from the suffering of samsara? Why is the holy scene unprecedented and incomparable? The answer is only one: because Dafa Wang possesses unparalleled moral integrity and is a great sage of the true Dharma of the Buddha. It is precisely because of this that the complete seven holy scenes of the Buddha bathing ceremony were manifested, and the true Dharma was transmitted, allowing the 12-year-old Jinba Rinpoche, who had never been involved in art, to become a world-class artist in just five months. Dear virtuous friends, this is unparalleled in the world. The true liberation from the suffering of life and death, the true Dharma of the Tathagata, is repeatedly presented before us. Are we still ignorant and unaware of where to find liberation?
