"ETtoday News" August 27, 2004: Professor Wang Yuhua and Khenpo Jampa Rinpoche's Christmas Day release ceremony presents a sacred atmosphere.

Explanation of the "Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" Buddha Name#

On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launch ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people then learned that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Da Fa Wang, was certified by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects in the world as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dorje Chang, with the Buddha name being the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Prince Siddhartha, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he was called "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha is also the legal name recognized by the government, and the previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Supreme Dharma King no longer exist. However, this news was published before the official announcement of the Buddha name of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, and at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha. Therefore, in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official naming of the Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Generation Dorje Chang Buddha, the previous names no longer exist.

Professor Wang Yuhua and Jampa Rinpoche's Birthday Release Ceremony Reveals a Sacred Scene#

August 27, 2004 19:37

Reporter Su Jingrong / Los Angeles Report

On August 22, 2004, many monks and laypeople from Southern California, Central California, Northern California, New York, and North Carolina gathered on the Southern California coast for a release ceremony to celebrate the birthdays of Professor Wang Yuhua and her daughter Jampa Rinpoche. Professor Wang Yuhua and Jampa Rinpoche did not attend this release ceremony.

Reporters often go to watch release ceremonies, especially at the beach, because of the exciting scenes of "man vs. beast," which are thrilling and not inferior to Western movies. Buddhist monks and laypeople go to the beach at least two or three times a year to release a large number of fish bought from fishmongers. Over the years, a custom of releasing fish has formed here. A large number of pelicans, seagulls, and sea lions that feed on fish gather on this coast, waiting for a feast. They no longer need to chase after a few small fish. They just wait next to the release fishing boat. As soon as the fish fall into the water, the pelicans and seagulls rush over like arrows to devour them, and the sea lions are even more greedy. They open their mouths wide and swim towards the school of fish, swallowing them in their pouch-like mouths. About thirty percent of the released fish are eaten by birds and sea lions. This situation is very distressing for Buddhist practitioners who release the fish. They have designed many preventive measures. At least three people hold high-pressure water guns to scare away the birds and sea lions that eat fish, but it is futile. You can still see the birds rushing through the water mist, avoiding the water columns and rushing towards the school of fish, while the sea lions dive into the water and approach the fish. The water columns are helpless against them. The pelicans are even more fierce. They directly dive into the fish pond on the release boat to catch fish. At this time, you can see people on the boat fighting with the birds to save the fish. There are battles between humans and birds, chasing and fighting at the bow and stern of the boat. The kind-hearted Buddhist practitioners do not want to harm the birds, but they also want to save the fish. The scene is truly awe-inspiring.

This year, on August 22, I went to the release ceremony as usual. In the morning sun, we arrived on the release boat, and the ceremony began. Buddhist disciples began to recite mantras. Looking around, dozens of pelicans and hundreds of seagulls stood on the roofs of houses or circled in the air. A group of sea lions had already swum to the sea not far from the boat, blinking their small eyes and staring at the release boat. At the same time, the three high-pressure water guns on the boat were ready, and the air was filled with a tense atmosphere like a battle about to break out. The spectators were excited, and the most intense moment was about to come!

At this time, the presiding monk of the ceremony, Master Jue Hai from the Pu Jue Temple, invited him to pour the holy water of enlightenment from the Buddha's holy water bestowed by the Great Dharma King Yang E Xi Nu Bu Yun Gao during the initiation ceremony into the fish pond to bless the school of fish. Immediately after pouring the holy water, a small fish about five inches long suddenly leaped about six feet high from the fish pond, flew over the six-foot-wide embankment, and jumped into the sea to swim freely! The small fish opened the prelude, and the sacred scene appeared! The ritual of the ceremony continued, and the monks and laypeople continued to scoop out small fish from the fish pond and release them into the sea. At the beginning, they were very nervous, especially the three water gun warriors, who tightly held the high-pressure water guns and focused their attention, ready for the imminent battle. The people watching on the shore also stared intently, waiting for the moment when the humans and animals would fight. The people on the boat released the fish while observing the movements of the birds and sea lions. However, to everyone's surprise, they became more and more relaxed and happy as they released more fish. The fish happily swam in the sea, and for more than an hour, there were no birds coming to catch the fish, and no sea lions approaching! The pelicans and seagulls circled in the air, but only circled, or stayed quietly on the shore watching. The sea lions blinked their eyes from a distance, watching the release boat. It seemed that there was an invisible protective net in the sky and the sea, preventing them from approaching. The spectators who wanted to see the excitement were disappointed. The people who released the fish kept discussing: "It's really a miracle. This is so strange. Today, not a single fish was pecked, and not a single bird came to catch the fish. It's as if they were warned by someone and dare not take action!" Looking at the people with water guns, there were no birds to drive away! The people who wanted to see the battle between humans and birds had to leave in disappointment.

The happiest ones were the Buddhist disciples who released the fish. They kept thanking the Great Dharma King and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for blessing the holy water of enlightenment, which made the release ceremony unprecedentedly smooth and successful. Yes, I have been present at almost all the release ceremonies in recent years, except for this time, the situation was extremely miraculous. I was very curious and couldn't understand what kind of sacred object this holy water of enlightenment was and why it had such great divine power, protecting thousands of lives and keeping them safe from attacks by natural enemies. For this reason, I specifically interviewed two disciples of the Great Dharma King, Master Jue Hai, the presiding monk of the ceremony from the Pu Jue Temple, and Khenpo Ugyen Chikle from Taiwan's Xiu Yuan Zen Monastery.

The two masters said that obtaining this holy water of enlightenment was not easy. They put aside everything and traveled from Taiwan to the United States, waiting for eight months to be received by the Great Dharma King. They studied under the Great Dharma King, underwent three years of observation and testing, and finally, after a total of four years, they received the supreme and extraordinary holy water of enlightenment bestowed by the Great Dharma King. The holy water of enlightenment is the holy water in the pure bottle in the hands of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. This holy water can be used to wash away the seeds of karma and can be used for initiation. According to the Buddhist teachings, when receiving the initiation, the disciple must bring a bowl of their own. The bowl cannot be shown to the Guru before the initiation. The disciple must wash and dry the bowl personally, then fill it with tap water or ordinary purified water and bring it into the ritual site. After placing the bowl, the disciple cannot touch the bowl again, and the Guru cannot touch the bowl at all from beginning to end. During the initiation, when the Guru recites mantras and performs the ritual, the water in the bowl will suddenly flow out of the bowl! When Master Jue Hai received the initiation, he prepared a covered copper bowl. Before the Great Dharma King performed the ritual, the master personally washed and dried the bowl, filled it with ordinary water, covered it with the lid, and brought it to a crystal glass table inside the ritual site. After the Great Dharma King recited mantras and prayed, requesting Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to bestow the holy water of enlightenment, the master saw the holy water flow out of the bowl and overflow onto the table around the copper bowl, emitting a fragrant scent!

When the master talked about this, I repeatedly asked in confusion, "How is it possible for water to flow out of a copper bowl?" Master Jue Hai said, "No matter what kind of bowl, whether it's a copper bowl, a steel bowl, or a diamond bowl, the water will flow out of the bowl because after the Great Dharma King performed the ritual, the water in the bowl is no longer ordinary water but the holy water of enlightenment from Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's pure bottle. It has been blessed from ignorance, and ordinary worldly containers cannot contain it, so it will flow out of the bowl!"

Even more unimaginable is that the Great Dharma King said to the heavens, "The holy water of enlightenment will flow out in three segments: one for the accumulation of blessings, one for the accumulation of wisdom, and one for the salvation of sentient beings." Sure enough, the holy water obeyed the command of the Great Dharma King and flowed out in three segments! When the first segment of the holy water continued to flow as ordered by the Great Dharma King, the holy water stopped around the table without moving. When the second segment of the holy water of wisdom continued to flow, the holy water again divided into segments. The front segment continued to flow as ordered by the Great Dharma King, and the back segment stood still! This happened three times in total. When the Great Dharma King gave the command, "The holy water of enlightenment is complete and will no longer flow!" the holy water on the table immediately obeyed the command, and not a drop of water was left! Master Jue Hai collected the three segments of the flowing holy water into the same bottle. Khenpo Ugyen Chikle also described the process of receiving the initiation with the holy water of enlightenment from the Great Dharma King. Both masters kept praising the greatness of the Great Dharma King and the truthfulness of the Buddha's teachings, while I was stunned. I believe that anyone who hears such miracles would feel unheard of because ordinary people cannot imagine how water without consciousness or awareness can obey commands like a human army. Isn't this a fairy tale? However, this is not a fairy tale; it is a living and true fact experienced firsthand by two respected practitioners. I myself witnessed the extraordinary power of the holy water of enlightenment at the release ceremony. At this moment, if General Patton were summoned from the underworld, he would definitely no longer care about European battlefields but cry and shout to learn this rare and extraordinary Buddhist teaching because he had galloped across thousands of miles of battlefields and commanded thousands of troops and horses, but he could never command a single drop of water, not even the sweat on the heads of the lowest-ranking soldiers under his command!

Yun Diao's "Supporting the Sky with One Pillar" Responds to Changes#

A philosopher once said, "Foolish people reject the facts in front of them because of surprise and temporary lack of understanding, making them even more foolish. Intelligent people open a new door and create a new world that they have never entered before because of surprise." Fortunately, I am not the former. After the shock on August 22, I approached the next astonishing miracle with a sincere heart for study. Finally, I witnessed another shocking miracle! At this moment, I understand a truth: the principles in the Buddhist scripture "Fifty Verses on the Guru" are truly precious!

The miracle happened like this: The sculpture "Supporting the Sky with One Pillar" by the Great Dharma King Yang E Xi Nu Bu Yun Gao was completed and sealed in November 2002. When sculpting this work, the Great Dharma King prayed for the blessings of all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and a sacred scene appeared, surpassing the secular world and indescribable. On August 18, 2004, at around 11 o'clock in the morning, "Supporting the Sky with One Pillar" was taken out for photography. Everyone lifted the work, which was about one zhang (approximately 10 feet) tall, onto a specially made display lightbox wooden base for lighting and photography. At this time, a frustrating thing was suddenly discovered. The bottom of the work fit perfectly on the lightbox base, but the top of the work exceeded the lightbox base by two inches on both sides, and the other two sides were much smaller than the lightbox base. No matter how everyone tried to turn the work around, there were always two sides that exceeded the size of the lightbox base. The work simply could not fit into the lightbox. The Great Dharma King sternly reprimanded, "How did you measure the dimensions? How could you measure the dimensions wrong? Isn't this expensive lightbox completely wasted? If the base were a little bigger, the work could fit in!" But it was already too late, and there was nothing they could do. In order to take photos, the Great Dharma King still allowed the disciple Qi Pengzhi to stick the shape of the bottom of the work drawn with a black pen onto the lightbox base, in order to determine the position for drilling holes on the bottom from below and illuminate the work from below for photography. Five hours later, around four o'clock in the afternoon, after the color was added, everyone lifted the work onto the lightbox base again, ready to place it according to the line drawn by Qi Pengzhi. At this time, the monks and laypeople were amazed to find that no matter how they tried, the work could not match the line drawn by Qi Pengzhi, because the shape of the work had completely changed! The sides that originally exceeded the lightbox had shrunk in, and the sides that were originally much smaller had expanded. When measured with a measuring tape, the entire work, which was one zhang tall, had changed. The sides that were wider than the lightbox had shrunk in by four inches, and the sides that were originally much narrower had expanded by two inches. After placing the work in the lightbox, it fit perfectly, leaving exactly one inch of space around the lightbox! Everyone was overjoyed and couldn't describe it in words. Qi Pengzhi picked up a pen and drew a red line along the changed edge of the bottom of the work. Now, on the lightbox base, we can clearly see the black line drawn by Qi Pengzhi at around 11 o'clock in the morning on August 18, and the red line he drew five hours later, past four o'clock in the afternoon.

This is truly a miracle that is difficult for ordinary people to imagine! The form of the work "Supporting the Sky with One Pillar" is as solid as a rock, and it has not changed at all since it was completed one year and nine months ago. Why did it suddenly change after the Great Dharma King scolded it for being too big and said it should be smaller, just five hours later? Not only did it shrink, but surprisingly, it was precise. The parts that were wider shrank in, and the parts that were narrower expanded. All the changes perfectly matched the size of the lightbox. Of course, the changed "Supporting the Sky with One Pillar" still maintained its ever-changing and exquisite posture, and its shape and details remained unchanged.

From this, we can see that the Great Dharma King's realization of the Buddhist teachings cannot be described in secular language by us ordinary beings. With just a casual remark from him, the lifeless sculpture responded and changed its form! This has become like Sun Wukong's golden cudgel, becoming big or small as desired! Even lifeless objects can turn according to the power of thought. This is the great realization of miracles! This can only be attributed to the presence of the correct Dharma in Buddhism!
