Explanation of the "Third Dijie Qiang Buddha" Buddha Name#
On April 3, 2008, the book "The Third Dijie Qiang Buddha" published by the Global Buddhist Publishing House and the World Dharma Sound Publishing House held a solemn and grand launching ceremony at the Library of Congress in the United States. The Library of Congress officially collected this book, and people only then knew that the highly respected Master Yi Yun Gao, Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang, was recognized by the leaders or regents of the major Buddhist sects and the great living Buddhas of the world's Buddhism, as the third incarnation of the Buddha Dijie Qiang Buddha, with the Buddha name being the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha. Since then, people have been calling him "Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha". This is similar to before Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, his name was Siddhartha Gautama, but after Shakyamuni Buddha became a Buddha, he changed his name to "Namo Shakyamuni Buddha". Therefore, we now call him "Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha". Especially on December 12, 2012, the United States Senate Resolution No. 614 officially named the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha as His Holiness (H.H. Third Dijie Qiang Buddha). Since then, the title of Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha has been officially established. Moreover, the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha is also the name recognized by the government. The previous names of "Yi Yun Gao" and the honorable titles of Master and Dafa Wang no longer exist. However, this news was published before the official announcement of the Buddha name of Namo Third Dijie Qiang Buddha, at that time people did not yet know the true identity of the Buddha, so in order to respect the truth of history, we still retain the names used before the official title of the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha in the news. But everyone should be clear that except for the name of H.H. Third Dijie Qiang Buddha, which is legal, the names used before the official announcement no longer exist.
The Passing of the Third Dijie Qiang Buddha#
The Diamond Body Burned for Six Hours, Yielding 141 Relics#
(Reported by Chen Yuzhu/Taipei) The late Dijie Losang Rinpoche was a disciple under the throne of Yang E Yi Xi Nu Bu Dafa Wang. He displayed extraordinary supernatural powers and revealed the Dharma. This is recorded in the book "The Holy Monk's Iron Record". He followed Dafa Wang as his teacher for many years, day and night without rest, without even a bed, only a cushion with him. Losang received the transmission from his great teacher Dafa Wang, and with tears of gratitude, he made a vow to benefit sentient beings according to his teacher's instructions. However, this extraordinary Losang displayed his supernatural powers in many places, regardless of the consequences. Due to the ripening of karma, he was detained by the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau in April 2001 and was unable to continue his studies with his teacher. In July 2003, the court held a trial, but he was not convicted. At that time, he received an invitation from the Luowan Temple in Sichuan and spent his days leisurely, wandering in the countryside, often gazing into the void with his eyes, practicing meditation, without speaking. Unfortunately, his karmic connections with sentient beings had come to an end, and he could no longer teach the Dharma. As early as August 2003, Jang Gongkangqin Rinpoche recorded in his memoir that Losang had clearly told him that he would leave the world in August of the following year and asked Jang Gongkangqin Rinpoche to hide and practice the Dharma, and in the future, if there was an opportunity to benefit sentient beings, to transmit the supreme Dharma of the great teacher Dafa Wang to virtuous people. Don't forget, Dafa Wang is the highest Dharma King who holds the true Dharma of the Buddha in this world! Jang Gongkangqin Rinpoche recorded the entire process, which was read aloud among the monks, nuns, and laypeople in the United States before Losang's parinirvana in June of the lunar calendar in 2004, and publicly read in the foundation in July of the lunar calendar in 2004. Dijie Losang Rinpoche finally passed away on the second day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, leaving the world.
In the later years of Losang's life, Wang Zhiying, a lay devotee, had been taking care of him. Zhiying straightforwardly told him, "Your Holiness, please don't leave in the summer. It's so hot, and I can't handle it." Losang also promised candidly, "Don't worry, I won't pass away in the hot weather. I will wait until August when it's cooler." Losang lived a simple life, with correct views on the Dharma, not attached to worldly matters. Before leaving, he only said to everyone, "I'm leaving, just recite more Buddha's name." On the second day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, he fulfilled his promise and passed away. The monks of Baoguang Temple rushed to his residence and escorted him to Baoguang Temple.
On the afternoon of the day of Losang's cremation, various extraordinary phenomena appeared, which were very different. The monks and laypeople who were reciting the Buddha's name each had their own special feelings about the phenomena. Some murmured in their hearts: "This Dharma King was so powerful during his lifetime, but now he doesn't look like an accomplished one at all. His parinirvana is so abnormal, he can't be considered an accomplished one at all." Some said that he was afraid of difficulties and suffering and did not benefit sentient beings, violating the fourteen fundamental precepts of Vajrayana. Some said that he broke the precepts and displayed supernatural powers, which are the great precepts of Buddhism. Some said that his realization was extraordinary and he truly manifested the great path. Finally, a lay devotee couldn't help but stand up and confess publicly. Dijie Losang Rinpoche was not an ordinary person. The impermanence he displayed was to teach us, but we did not generate infinite reverence and instead developed discrimination. He suggested that everyone should take this opportunity to contemplate impermanence, generate infinite reverence, and bid farewell to the venerable teacher. An accomplished one must have the auspicious manifestation of a Buddha or Bodhisattva. At this moment, many people also confessed publicly. Life is like a dream, impermanence is swift, whether poor or noble, in the end, only a smelly body remains. Everyone generated infinite reverence, recited the Buddha's name, contemplated impermanence, and made vows to pray for the well-being of sentient beings, for the prosperity and peace of the country, and for world peace. Unexpectedly, at this time, the radiance of Mahavairocana Buddha quickly manifested and cameras and camcorders were opened one after another. Lay devotee Guigong took three photos of the sun emitting brilliant radiance, and there was a circular emerald green pattern in the center of the sun, which was exactly the same as the emerald green on the hem of the robe and hat of the great teacher Dafa Wang. Seeing this manifestation, everyone was ecstatic and couldn't describe their joy.
The cremation usually takes a little over an hour, but Losang Rinpoche's cremation lasted for more than six hours, which is extremely rare. It can be imagined how extraordinary his diamond body was. Unfortunately, he revealed his supernatural powers too much without being cautious, and when his karma matured, he had to inform Jang Gongkangqin Rinpoche in advance that he was going to leave. After the cremation, 141 relics were found. The manifestation of the indestructible body burning for six hours and the solid relics obtained completely proved that Losang had indeed learned the true Dharma of the great teacher Dafa Wang. Unfortunately, he should not have left the world, but should have stayed to propagate the Dharma and benefit sentient beings.
Writing up to this point, I think of someone saying during the cremation process that Dijie Losang was not a Dharma King. We can't help but ask: If Dijie Losang was an ordinary person, why could he predict the time of his parinirvana in advance? Why could he burn for six hours, breaking the historical record? Why were 141 relics found after the cremation? How could an ordinary person have such sacred objects? In Taiwan, for decades, only one venerable monk, Guangqin, had relics after cremation, and they were completely burned in just over an hour. Therefore, this is enough to prove that Dijie Losang's Buddhism is not a worldly empty theory, only true Buddhism can manifest such sacred signs. From this, we can't help but think again, usually, we all say "Buddhism is hard to find, the true Dharma is hard to encounter", and now, the true Dharma of the great teacher Dafa Wang has manifested, and his disciples have achieved great accomplishments one by one. Shouldn't we think about how to face life and death?
