Office of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche Announcement No. 46

H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche transmitted the "Shengyi" practice of Amitabha Buddha to everyone. Many Buddhist disciples have greatly benefited and achieved swift progress after practicing this. However, there are some individuals who do not have a good understanding of properly offering reverence to the Amitabha Buddha statue during their practice. Therefore, the office of H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche would like to make a special announcement to all Buddhist disciples: the Amitabha Buddha statue should not be placed below the shrine of H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche's incarnation, but should be placed alongside it. This is because there is another Vajra statue below the shrine, and it should not be placed above Amitabha. As Amitabha Buddha is a disciple of the First Dodrupchen Rinpoche, the top of the Amitabha Buddha statue should not exceed the height of the shoulders of the First Dodrupchen Rinpoche. Additionally, if there are different Buddha statues or Bodhisattva statues placed in the same room, regardless of the direction, the top of any Buddha or Bodhisattva statue should not exceed the height of the shoulders of the founder Buddha, the First Dodrupchen Rinpoche. Otherwise, it would be against the proper practice.

Furthermore, regarding the reasons for abolishing the "Fifty Verses of the Guru" and the "Fourteen Fundamental Precepts of Tantra," there is an audio recording called "Abolishing the Fifty Verses of the Guru to Find a Good Guru." H.H. the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche explains clearly in the audio recording that the main reason is to prevent fraudsters and evil people in the world from deceiving disciples. In order to protect practitioners from being deceived, it is necessary to abolish the "Fifty Verses of the Guru" and the "Fourteen Fundamental Precepts of Tantra" so that disciples can observe whether their guru truly practices and follows the teachings. If these two are not abolished, disciples would not dare to observe their guru, otherwise, it would be considered a violation of the precepts. Therefore, only by abolishing the "Fifty Verses of the Guru" and the "Fourteen Fundamental Precepts of Tantra" can we help everyone avoid being deceived, practice correctly, increase their blessings and wisdom, and achieve liberation.
