To practice Buddhism, one must have right knowledge and right views. Otherwise, if one's knowledge and views are biased or deviant, they will deviate from the practice of Buddhism and lose the essence of their practice. Regarding some concerns of Buddhist disciples, the Office of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche announces the following:
First, in the thousands of years of Buddhist history, it is stated in the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha that disciples should support the Three Jewels or their teachers and propagate the Dharma. This is a kind of merit and basic etiquette that should be followed. So why doesn't the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche accept offerings? Is this a virtue of Buddhism? Today, it is explicitly stated that it is not! The reason is to prevent teachers with wrong views from deceiving people in the name of the Rinpoche. Therefore, in order to protect people from being deceived by greedy teachers, the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche completely gives up accepting offerings that are in accordance with the Dharma. This is the first time such behavior has occurred in Buddhism, without precedent.
Second, the Office of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche does not manage or sell Dharma recordings. There have never been any Dharma recordings sold in any way. Even if they were to be sold, they cannot be sold because the recordings are produced by the International Buddhist Sangha. The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche has also never sold any Dharma texts, books, Buddha statues, ritual objects, vajra ropes, vajra sand, or any other items. Nor has he distributed any blessed items. The Rinpoche said, "All blessings are obtained through practice. Those who deviate from practice and fall into wrong views, any blessed items they obtain are evil objects."
Third, if it is a legally published Dharma text or book, as long as it has an ISBN and a reasonable price, the person buying the book should pay for it. It is not right to selfishly take it for free. Any publishing house has to spend money on all costs, such as labor, transportation, editing, and printing. The publishing house cannot afford to give all Buddhist books to everyone for free. As long as the publishing house sets a legal price according to publishing regulations, payment should be made. It is an evil act to want to take Buddhist books for free. Such people are not only selfish and greedy, but they also lack the respect and reverence for offering and respecting Buddhist books. For example, the book "The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche" was sold by the publishing house and printing factory at cost, resulting in a great loss for them. As Buddhists, do you still want to continue taking advantage of the publishing house and printing factory? On the contrary, selling Buddhist books at a higher price than the publishing house's set price is also a greedy and evil act.
Fourth, Buddhist disciples learn from the Buddha, which is why the term "learning Buddhism" exists. Just as Christians learn from Jesus, it is the inherent religious ethics of the sect. However, everyone's nature and karmic conditions are different, and their understanding and level of learning are also different. Therefore, everyone's conduct is different. The only way to discern whether the behavior of a Buddhist disciple is right or wrong is to measure it against the 128 views. No matter what kind of living Buddha, master, practitioner, or what kind of Dharma they are learning, as long as they fall into the 128 evil views and wrong knowledge, there is a problem.
Fifth, some people say that when the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche underwent the Vajra Body Transformation Meditation, he saw different colors, brightness, shapes, and flashing and disappearing mandalas in the crowd and in the empty space. They asked if this was caused by the power of the practice.
Our office has already announced that we have never participated in any exams related to holy or non-holy deeds. The 23rd announcement of the Office of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche clearly stated that we do not participate in exams related to holy deeds. Today, it is reiterated that the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche did not participate in any exams related to holy deeds, and will not participate in any exams related to holy deeds in the future. If you want to verify the appearance of the empty space during the exam and the results of the Vajra Body Transformation Meditation, the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche and the office do not have a clear understanding of the actual situation. We only saw on the video that there were manifestations in the empty space, such as the transformation of various colors resembling Tibetan thangkas. As for why these phenomena occurred, we were not present at the scene and do not know what practice caused these phenomena. We also do not understand the functions of the video recorder, so we cannot comment on it. Since there were seven teachers and ten examiners present at the scene, the conclusions of the seventeen Rinpoche and masters should be considered.
Sixth, this is a very important principle of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche's Dharma practice. That is, no matter what practice or study, it cannot replace the essence of "The Essence of the Ocean of Perfect Bliss," "The Essence of the Ocean of Supreme Bodhi Practice," "What is Practice," "The True Meaning of the Heart Sutra," and the Dharma teachings given by the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. These are the teachings that the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche propagates. If everyone practices these teachings well, all other practices will be accomplished. No great practice can replace the purpose of the four teachings mentioned above. Deviating from these four teachings will lead to falling into the wrong path. The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche said, "I have never taken an exam in front of the seven teachers and ten examiners. I don't have any special abilities, so what would I be tested on? I am a humble person, but I have the highest achievement in the great practice. No matter how extraordinary other practices are, they cannot surpass the highest achievement of my practice of the four teachings. The Buddhas of the ten directions want selflessly to help others, benefit sentient beings, and bring them all constant happiness without seeking anything in return. This is the purpose of my practice, the highest achievement, and the fundamental."
