In view of the current situation in various places that requires correct understanding, after listening to the series of Dharma teachings by the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche, there are still some Buddhist practitioners who have a vague understanding of the concept of spiritual teachers, falling into the confusion of wrong views, which is particularly worrying. This indicates that some people have not understood the Dharma teachings, so it is necessary to strengthen the understanding of the Dharma, otherwise there is a risk of inadvertently going astray.

To measure whether a practitioner is truly virtuous, there are only two simple criteria: firstly, whether they comply with the 128 views, and secondly, whether they possess the measure of spiritual realization. Regardless of which country a person is from, which sect they belong to, how high their Buddhist title is, or how famous they are, if they do not meet these two points, they are not virtuous. Even the disciples of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche listed in the book "The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche" must also be judged by these criteria. If they do not meet these two criteria, they are not virtuous, and everyone should pay special attention to this. Some people mistakenly believe that the venerables, rinpoches, lamas, and teachers listed in the book "The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche" should be the top disciples of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. This kind of thinking is completely misunderstood. In fact, due to the circumstances of the publishing house collecting materials, many great virtuous disciples with the measure of spiritual realization of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche were omitted from the book. However, these venerables, rinpoches, lamas, and teachers of great virtuous level hold certificates personally signed by the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche and stamped with his fingerprint.

Even if a person has attained the state of a virtuous one, it does not mean that they necessarily possess the qualifications of a qualified spiritual teacher. The qualifications of a spiritual teacher are an independent realm, and they are the necessary rules and regulations for teaching Buddhism. There can be no slightest deviation. Although they have attained the state of a virtuous one, they may not necessarily understand the rules and regulations of teaching. Even great virtuous ones who have attained the realization of the Vajra Body Transformation may not have attained the level of the Buddha's teaching. Therefore, the criteria for measuring the qualifications of a spiritual teacher are unique, definite, and cannot be changed in the slightest. That is the six measures of a spiritual teacher's qualifications. When it comes to the qualifications of a virtuous one, regardless of any sect, any identity, or any certification by any person or organization, the qualifications of a spiritual teacher must be verified using the six measures of a spiritual teacher's qualifications. It determines whether they have the qualifications of a teacher of the supreme path, the middle level path, or the lower level path, as well as the qualifications of the exoteric and esoteric teachings. This plays a decisive role in the empowerment and transmission of teachings, and is the lifeblood of the liberation and accomplishment of disciples. Besides the six measures of a spiritual teacher's qualifications as verification, no matter who they are, and no matter what great supernatural powers, wisdom, knowledge, or lineage they possess, they are not in the realm of spiritual teacher. This is clearly defined in the "Preliminary Texts that Must be Understood in Learning the Great Liberation Seal".

Once again, I would like to remind everyone of an important principle, which has been repeated in different ways many times. That is: regardless of their identity or what they say, as long as they do not present an authorization letter with the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche's fingerprint stamp, signed by the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche, and accompanied by a corresponding video recording, then all their words and actions are their own and have nothing to do with the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. All illegal and disorderly behavior is not what a true Buddhist should have. Everyone should observe carefully and stay away from anything that is harmful to sentient beings, and support anything that benefits sentient beings.
