The World Buddhist Headquarters has received inquiries regarding the article "Ask Chen Baosheng" by Jianping, which mentioned that the protectors of the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche are the Dharma Protectors Dufa Vajra, Rehu Vajra, and Mahagala. In response to this, we specifically consulted the Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche. The Third Dodrupchen Rinpoche said: "This Buddhist disciple does not understand the situation. Dufa Vajra, Rehu Vajra, and Mahagala are the most powerful protectors in Tibetan Buddhism. I am not a Tibetan Buddhist, nor am I affiliated with any particular sect. I am simply a Buddhist, the Buddhism of Shakyamuni Buddha and the Buddhism of the Buddhas of the ten directions. My protectors do not fall into the 128 evil views and wrong views. My practice is based on the two essential teachings of the "Great Liberation Seal" and "What is Practice". The true essence of my teachings is explained in the "Heart Sutra". My aspiration is to never accept any offerings and to dedicate myself to the happiness and liberation of all sentient beings, speaking the true Dharma of the Buddhas of the ten directions. I will not harm any sentient being, including Chen Baosheng and Chen Raozhen. Yesterday, I made a vow, which was not my own intention, but was requested by Jiang Jia, Rinpoche. I tried to stop him, but he had already made the vow, leaving me with no choice but to make this vow to seek the protection of the Buddhas of the ten directions and the guarantee of karma, so that Jiang Jia, Rinpoche would have no lingering fear. The same words still apply: the greatest happiness for all sentient beings, including those who attack, slander, and harm me, is my greatest happiness. However, Buddhists must never defame the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions or the scriptures of Shakyamuni Buddha, and must never engage in evil practices that harm the public. Regarding the examination of teachers, I have always only supported examinations based on the Tripitaka, Vinaya, and Abhidharma. I have never supported any examinations claiming to be sacred from the very beginning, so I have never presided over such examinations."
