United Nations International Buddhist Headquarters Announcement Announcement No. 20160105

No matter how great a Dharma King, venerable, great living Buddha, or great Dharma master a person claiming to be a holy person is, if they have not passed an exam and obtained a rank and yet claim to be a saint, this person is a fake infiltrator of Buddhism, they are worthless and not gold!!! Some people, in order to avoid exams and deceive others, make excuses saying that the exams conducted by the headquarters are not legitimate Buddhist questions, so they do not need to participate in the exams. Please be aware that anyone who says this is undoubtedly a demon or a fraud. Now, the headquarters presents twenty exam questions for everyone to determine whether they are legitimate Buddhist questions: (1) Explain the concepts of faith, aspiration, and practice, morality, concentration, and wisdom. (2) What does "Xian Zong" refer to? (3) How many sects are there in Esoteric Buddhism? Who are the founders of each sect? (4) What are the three realms composed of? When did the three realms form? What is the concept of the Dharma realm? (5) Discuss the concept of meditation. What is samadhi? Where does it come from? What role does it play? (6) How many precepts are included in the 128 views of Buddhist practice? (7) Are the four immeasurable minds, meditation, and the true nature contradictory? Why? (8) What is the central viewpoint of the Prajnaparamita Sutra? What are the essentials of Madhyamaka? Briefly explain the concept of the Abhidharma. (9) What are the benefits of the "Bodhi Path"? (10) What are the three sutras: "The Heart of the Sutra," "The King of the Sutra," and "The Guidelines of the Sutra"? Are the Agama Sutras and the Three Baskets of Sutras mutually exclusive? Why? (11) What are the advantages and disadvantages of wrong views and correct views? (12) What is non-action? What is action? (13) What are the functions of fire offering, fire subduing, water and land Dharma assemblies, body offering, and Vajra Dharma? (14) What is the liberation theory of Yogacara? What is the liberation view of the Huayan sect? What are the key points of the Vinaya sect? How is it different from the Agama sect? (15) What are the meanings of "initial participation," "heavy reliance," and "firm reliance"? (16) What are stubborn emptiness, small emptiness, great emptiness, empty emptiness, extinction emptiness, true emptiness, or eighteen emptinesses? (17) What are the concepts of causal understanding, comparative understanding, known object wisdom, and unknown object wisdom? How are they unified? (18) What is Zen, concentration, cessation, and contemplation? What are the functions of the four dhyana and eight samadhis, and the three bodies and four wisdoms? (19) What is natural wisdom and other-empty wisdom, self-empty and dharma-empty, and human-empty and dharma-empty? What are the differences? Which sect do they belong to? (20) What are the main theories of Nagarjuna, Dipamkara, Dharmakirti, Vasubandhu, Shantarakshita, Asanga, Nagarjuna, and Buddha? What are the viewpoints of each theory? Can anyone say that these are not legitimate Buddhist exam questions? Only evil outsiders would say that these are not legitimate Buddhist exam questions. Let me make it clear to everyone that our headquarters adheres to the true Buddhism of Namo Sakyamuni Buddha, Namo the Third Dharma King, and Namo all Buddhas of the ten directions.

When it comes to practicing Buddhism, every Buddhist has a common wish to find a true holy master. However, they often choose so-called good teachers based on superficial appearances. This common problem has become a habit among Buddhists. For example, as soon as someone mentions the leader or great Dharma King of a certain sect, they believe that they are the reincarnation of a Buddha or Bodhisattva. Little do they know that this Dharma King made a mistake when recognizing the reincarnation as a child and chose an ordinary person as the Dharma King. Or they see that the teacher has read and written commentaries on various scriptures and has spread them widely, so they assume that they are undoubtedly a great Bodhisattva and entrust their own destiny to them. Or when they see that the teacher has supernatural powers, they believe that they are a genuine saint. All these different misconceptions have harmed countless Buddhists. In fact, these superficial appearances are the stumbling blocks that lead people astray. If practitioners are not clear-minded and do not verify according to the 128 views, they will surely fall into this tragedy and sink into the sea of suffering without any hope of liberation. In order to correctly choose a virtuous teacher, one must see the rank and certificate that the teacher wears and must also verify their words and actions according to the 128 views. Apart from this, any status, extraordinary abilities, or superficial identities are not the essence of spiritual cultivation. For example, one teacher has performed rituals to help deceased beings, has bestowed blessings of Avalokitesvara on believers, and has removed their negative karma through the power of light. They even claim to have retrieved hidden treasures. However, in the end, this person falls into wrong views due to not practicing according to the Dharma and does not attain liberation. Another Dharma King even experienced the realms of the three evil paths before death. Fortunately, with the assistance of others and hearing the teachings of the Third Dharma King, this Dharma King sincerely repented and was saved by Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and reborn in the Pure Land, achieving the stage of Stream-Enterer. These examples serve as a warning to Buddhist disciples. Regardless of the teacher's noble status, even if they are higher than the teacher mentioned earlier, such as a Dharma King, one cannot judge their level of holiness based on their status. The only correct way is to see the rank and certificate they wear. A true holy person must be seen in the exam and verified through knowledge and views. If the teacher's rank and certificate are not correct, it means they have deviated from their previous level of attainment and become ordinary or even a fraud. A certain Dharma King from a sect came to take the exam, and he believed that he would definitely achieve the rank of Gold Button because his reputation was outstanding in the world. However, he only scored 47 points in the written exam and ultimately only achieved the rank of Blue Button Two Stages. The seven holy ones and ten witnesses were shocked and surprised. They all believed that this was a profound lesson. No matter who he is, one cannot judge their level of holiness based on their status. The only criterion is to have the seventeen examiners swear to guarantee the authenticity of the rank achieved by the examinee during the exam. It must be seen in the exam and verified through knowledge and views. Seeing the rank and certificate the teacher wears is the true identity, and it must be reminded again that whether they will have incorrect words, actions, or attitudes and deviate from the path and become ordinary or even a fraud in the future. The best verification is to use the 128 views taught by the Third Dharma King to verify and distinguish them. The choice is up to each individual.
